Chapter 2
Okay, wanna warn those reading, this book is gonna have slow updates! Okay- enjoy the chapter. :]
Location: Puffy’s house
Ranboo sat curled up in Dream's arms, his older brother asleep in an empty room that only held a bed in it. Ranboo couldn’t help but look around, this room not having to be lit up by torches but by natural light. It was strange to him, his little baby brain trying to figure out what was happening. He didn’t really know, in the slightest, what was happening. He remembers chaos being unleashed from around him, and him crying, but after that everything seemed blurry. He remembers seeing a nice hybrid, who seemed to almost feel bad for the baby. Dream didn’t like them though and he couldn’t help but wonder why. They seemed nice, so why did he seem so scared of them? He curled farther into his brother's chest, closing his eyes as he let out a sigh.
The door creaked open, the same sweet split-haired female looking at the baby with a warm smile. Ranboo blinked, smiling as she came over. “Hey, wanna get something to eat? You have to be starving.” He crawled out of his sleeping brother's arms, allowing the hybrid to pick him up. The female smiled, turning around to leave the room after she retrieved the child. Ranboo blinked at the other hybrid, who looked at him with worry.
“Are sure it was a good idea to just take him?” The male says, following the lady into the kitchen.
“Yes, this little guy still needs to eat, and I’ll be dropping something off in his room as well.” The male still looked unconvinced, but only sighed, shaking his head.
“Whatever, I’m going to my room.” With that, the golden-haired boy left for the stairs, leaving both Ranboo and the sheep hybrid alone.
“Now, where were we?” The female smiled, carrying Ranboo off into the kitchen to make something for lunch. Ranboo couldn’t help but smile, he was getting food.

When Dream woke up Ranboo was not in his arms, and he started to freak out. He got out of the bed he had been laying on, and started to look around the room for him, but to no avail couldn’t find the baby ender hybrid. Then, he heard giggling from somewhere in the house, and knew it was Ranboo. Without thinking he flung the bedroom door open and started bolting down the stairs towards his little brother, green eyes in slits as he saw the kidnapper feeding the child something. Dream hissed when he neared, glaring right at the dual-haired lady as he quickly picked Ranboo up from the high chair the other hybrid must have set up.
“Away!” The white-haired ender hybrid growled, pulling the child closer to himself. “No touch!” Puffy looked disappointed, the female clanking the spoon into the bowl that held slimy orange… things in it. What was this lady feeding his brother? She must have noticed him staring at it, because she smiled, spooning some of the weird food up and bringing it closer to the hesitant ender.
“It’s oranges, try it!” Dream blinked, confused but compliant, leaning forwards hesitantly and eating the weird food that Puffy had offered. It was a weird taste, almost tangy, but it was good. His eyes light up, eyes flicking towards the bowl that held some more. Ranboo started making grabby hands towards it too, his own two-colored eyes sparkling at the food. “Oranges huh? I’ll get you some, let the little guy have the last of this.” With that, Puffy handed the spoon over to Dream and started for the cabinets. The older ender hybrid listened to the female's instructions, sitting down slowly and feeding his little brother the rest of the oranges before having his own bowl put in front of him.
He looked towards the kidnapper, who only smiled back down at him. She started turning away when Dream randomly started to speak again. “Dream.” Puffy looked back to the ender hybrid, a little confused. “Name, is Dream.” He pointed to himself as he spoke. “Ranboo.” The female smiled sweetly, probably happy to finally know their names.
“Those are nice names.” Dream tried to smile back, but knew it probably looked forced. He still didn’t trust the female, just hated the fact she kept just calling them ‘kids’ or ‘little ones’. Dream started to eat, still holding baby Ranboo closely in his other arm.
Four Months Later. . .
Location: The Village
“Stupid freak!” Dream scrambled away from the stand, green eyes shining with hurt. “What even are you? Some fucked up hybrid?” Dream’s green eyes were in slits as he looked over towards the seller. The man flinched back, face turning pale by the sight. “Get away!” Dream did as told, scurrying away from the main stands and towards the house he’s been staying in. Puffy, he had grown closer to he other. She was nice, a good role model for both Dream and Ranboo. But Dream just couldn’t live like this.
If the village treated Dream like this, how would they react to Ranboo? Dream shook at the thought. Ranboo looked more like an enderman than he did, and the thought of this village hurting his little brother worse than they did him made the older brother sad and angry. He pushed the door open, setting the bag of coins that Puffy had given the other onto the entrance table. He smelled dinner, smiling slightly even if he was still depressingly sad. “Dream? Is that you?” The goat hybrid yelled out.
“Yeah!” He took his shoes off and slid his green jacket off, hanging it up on one of the pegs on the wall. Foolish came down the stairs, seeing the ruffled up look Dream had gained from going into town. The shark hybrid frowned but walked past the other anyways. Dream knew the golden-haired male didn’t like him much, him and Ranboo both. He was awkward when talking to them, and tried to leave any conversation Dream would be involved in. He was trying to ignore the two’s existence and the fact they live in the same house as he does.
“Dinner’s almost ready!” The white-haired teen smiled, making his way up the second story to his and Ranboo’s room. He hadn’t let the baby move out of his room, even after Puffy offered the guest room to be turned into a nursery for the child. Dream pushed the door open and walked to the crib that Puffy had made for the one-year-old baby, said ender hybrid up and happily babbling as the older brother grew closer.
“Hey Boo.” Dream picked up his little brother, smiling when Ranboo giggled and affectionately patted his cheek. The ender hybrid took the other downstairs with him, the older walking into the kitchen where Puffy was cooking away.
“Dream, you mind setting the table?” The male paused, putting his little brother in his high chair before making his way to the plates and utensils. He still didn’t talk too much to the others, in fact, he didn’t talk much to anyone. He still didn’t feel at home here, and since he had learned more about the overworld, he felt it was safe enough to leave now. He felt unwelcomed here anyways, and the fact that if they stayed this would be where Ranboo grows up scared the other. Setting the plates down he looked towards the dual-haired female before him, the female smiling down towards the other before ruffling his hair. He smiled weakly, getting the last plate down before going back for the utensils. His mind was set though, tonight they would leave and never look back.
That Night. . .
Location: Puffy’s house
Dream slapped his packed bag onto his back, the leather bag holding food and clothes for the two to last a long time. At least long enough for Dream to find a town that wasn’t as terrifying as this one. Ranboo watched his older brother silently, looking confused but didn’t complain when he was woken up by the other walking around in their room. Dream smiled down at his little brother, picking the child up before picking him up and making his way towards their bedroom door. Opening it he silently made his way to the stairs, walking down silently. His green eyes were fixed on the exit, the front door. He made his way to it, opening the wooden door and tensing when it squeaked.
He looked down towards Puffy’s room pausing as if waiting for the goat hybrid to come out of her room. It never happened though, and knowing that he yanked the door open quickly, pausing once again after the loud noise it made. Once he heard nothing he stepped out, debating if he wanted to risk shutting the door and waking someone or just leaving. He decided on the ladder, turning around and making his way towards the road. They lived on the outskirts, the roads leading out to where other towns were bound to be. He was prepared, ready to fight for both his and Ranboo’s survival. He looked down towards his little brother, who was looking up towards him with questioning eyes.
“Don’t worry, everything will be ok.” If only he knew how untrue that sentence was, if only he had chickened out and turned around towards Puffy’s house, but he didn’t. Instead he looked forwards, making steps to what he thought would be a better outcome for the two brothers.
