19: The Shishigumi Returns

"You remember us?"

Legoshi had an unreadable expression.

"Shit. 'You can eat him now'? Look at what the Shishigumi has come to. When I think about it now, the Shishigumi's fate got distorted when this wolf raided us last summer. It's all ended in us having to take orders from that crazy, piece of shit boss! He's the reason the gang has gone to shit. We're not going to eat this pest." An older lion complained.

"I mean... isn't it bad enough he had to hear about the boss' girl?"Agata, the youngest lion added.

"She was my girl first."

"She was never your girl." The lion scoffed. "No one would be. Felines are proud animals, you see. We're not like canines who eat eat everything that walks... Normally, you see, we'd let you go. Relationship with the boss, with the girl, no grudge against you, grudge against the new boss... it's complicated. But we have to settle our grudge from the very beginning. So, We're going to make you experience the death that all felines fear the most. Feet in a concrete bucket and drop you in the sea. Sound good everyone?"

The lions roared together.

"Good. Let's get started."

Meanwhile, Louis was having his first night with his fiancee. The daughter of a CEO and a red deer just like him, it was in his best interest to perform. Although the marriage was for political reasons, Louis wasn't sure this was the right path for him. Should he have abandoned the Shishigumi? Where were you? Did you hate him? Were you dead? His body shuddered uncomfortably.

"What is it?" Azuki asked. "You don't like my kisses?"

"Well... um... I'm sorry. I'm just thirsty." What was with him? He sounded like a pathetic virgin.

"Oh, here, have some water." Azuki was quick to have the fix and Louis gulped the water down to push the questions out of his head. As his and her thin bodies intertwined with an anti-carnivore rhetoric broadcast on in the background, Louis felt the weight of his responsibilities. This was his normal; at least it should have been. What was strange was him.

The kiss of Azuki felt nothing like your kiss. There was nothing in Azuki's mouth that resembled the long fangs that poked out of yours. He had to stop himself comparing you and her. He couldn't get distracted and lose his way. But as the rhetoric got louder, "Keep your distances! Six feet at least! If you don't follow the instructions you could die! Be responsible!", he felt sick.

"Louis, are you okay?" Azuki asked. Louis vomited. "What's wrong!?"

And he couldn't shake the illness for the rest of the night; leaving his relationship unconsummated.
