Tears welled up in Noah's eyes, a mix of hurt and confusion engulfing him.
He felt hurt and vulnerable, grappling with the pain of having something so meaningful abruptly taken away.
He knew deep down that this connection they had shared had been unexpected and against all odds, but it had felt so genuine and powerful in that moment.

He tried to fight the overwhelming emotions that threatened to consume him, but he couldn't hold back the pain that washed over him like a tidal wave. The encounter with Adrian had opened his heart to new possibilities, only to be shattered in an instant.

With his heart still pounding in his chest, Noah took a moment to collect himself before rejoining his friends.

The next day when he arrived at the office, he crossed paths with Adrian in the lobby. However, to his dismay, Adrian walked past him as if he didn't even know him.

The coldness in Adrian's demeanor cut deep, and Noah couldn't shake off the feeling of sadness that washed over him.

He knew that his feelings for Adrian was wrong But he had hoped that they could at least clear the air, to address the awkwardness that lingered between them.

Noah understood that there were boundaries he couldn't cross, that their positions in the company and their professional relationship meant there were limits to what could happen between them. Yet, he couldn't help but wish for some resolution, for an opportunity to explain himself.

As days turned into weeks, they occasionally crossed paths in the lobby, during meetings, or on a few brief encounters in the elevator. However, Adrian's demeanor remained distant and cold, leaving Noah feeling even more despondent.

He tried his best to focus on his work, to immerse himself in his tasks and distract himself from the turmoil inside. But the memory of their intense encounter continued to haunt him, and the unresolved tension between them made each day feel longer and more painful.

He also knew the complexities of getting involved with someone as powerful and enigmatic as Adrian Blackwood. So he decided to push his feeling aside.

One day, Emily approached Noah with an exciting proposition. "Noah, the company is hosting a charity gala next month. It's a high-profile event, and Mr. Blackwood will be attending."

"That sounds amazing," Noah replied, his eyes lighting up with enthusiasm. "How can I contribute to the gala?"

"I was hoping you'd ask that," Emily said with a smile. "We need someone to design the event's promotional materials and decorations. It's a significant opportunity to showcase your talent to not only Mr. Blackwood but also potential clients and business partners."

Noah's heart swelled with excitement at the thought of his designs being featured at such an important event. "I'd be honored to take on the project. I'll pour my heart and soul into it."

As the days leading up to the gala passed, Noah dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the project. Late nights were spent sketching and refining his designs, ensuring every detail was perfect. He felt an immense sense of responsibility, determined to prove himself once more in front of Adrian.

The night of the gala arrived, and the venue was transformed into a stunning display of elegance and artistry. Noah's designs adorned the walls, capturing the attention and awe of everyone present. The event was a success, and the company received numerous compliments on the exquisite decorations.

As the night progressed, Noah's eyes scanned the room, searching for a glimpse of the CEO. Just as he was about to give up hope, he spotted Adrian, standing amidst a crowd of influential guests.

As the night continued, Noah found himself stealing glances at Adrian whenever he could.

After the gala had ended and he had finished his work, it was late. As Noah walked out of the company, he was suddenly startled by a car speeding towards him, screeching to a stop right in front of him. His heart nearly leaped out of his chest, and while he felt anger welling up inside him, he dared not say anything, knowing it was Adrian's car.

The car window rolled down, revealing Adrian at the wheel. "Get in, I'll drop you," Adrian said, leaving Noah stunned by the unexpected offer.

"No, it's okay, I'll go by myself," Noah replied, ready to walk away. However, Adrian's frustration was evident as he closed his eyes and honked the horn loudly, urging Noah to comply. Feeling taken aback, Noah hesitated for a moment before reluctantly getting into the passenger seat.

As Noah settled into the seat, Adrian started the engine, and they drove out of the company premises. Noah clutched the seatbelt tightly, keeping his gaze fixed outside the window, both of them engulfed in a tense silence.

Eventually, Noah couldn't bear the silence any longer, especially as they approached his destination.
"You can pull over," he said softly. Adrian slowed down the car, and Noah unfastened his seatbelt, ready to leave. Before he could step out, however, Adrian held his hand, stopping him.

Confusion washed over Noah as he looked at their joined hands and then at Adrian. Adrian's eyes momentarily lowered, but when they met Noah's once more, time seemed to stand still. Their hearts pounded uncontrollably, and the tension between them felt palpable.

Unknowingly, they leaned closer to each other, closing the distance between their bodies. Their lips were mere inches apart when Noah stopped, uttering, "Boss." But before he could say anything more, Adrian silenced him with a fervent kiss.
