twelve.

Waking up with a raging headache, Zela whined and cuddled into the blankets, wanting to block out the bright light that shined in through the window.

"Good morning sleeping beauty."

Nathan said, and she realized she was in his room instead of Danny's, which she assumed was because Cole slept in the same room.

"Here, take this."

Handing her some medicine, Zela instantly accepted it and downed the water when she slowly got out of bed, and Alex turned to watch her as he grabbed the clothes Nathan had picked out earlier.

"Here, the downstairs bathroom is open, Jackie already showered."

Nodding her head, she walked downstairs and took the longest shower she ever had, and the majority of it was her sitting at the bottom and remembering everything from the night before.

More importantly, thanksgiving was coming up and she wanted to get her act together before then.

Getting out of the shower, she dressed herself in the clothes Nathan got for her, and she was thankful he for her one of her comfier clothes.

Walking out of the bathroom, she sat down at the island, and looked as Katherine was making some tea.

"Here you go."

Handing her the tea, Zela thanked her, and took a sip of it letting the warmth relax her, and she watched as Katherine cleaned up.

"So the boys and I are going to go see Will later, he's started this Lark after Dark, and you, Cole, and Jackie are going to stay here and do chores. There is a storm coming so clean up the yard before it starts."

Katherine told her and Zela nodded her head, not complaining since she was at fault for getting drunk.

"You're also grounded, so no friends over, and no going over to friends."

She finished, and Zela sighed knowing she'd have to cancel her plans with Erin.

"Alright."

She said, as she got up and walked outside, to start picking up the toys.

Watching everyone leave, Danny and Nathan walked over to her and checked up on her before they quickly ran to leave.

"Cole and I are going to clean inside."

Jackie said, and Zela couldn't even look at her own sister without feeling sick to her stomach.

"Okay."

She said simply, and she heard her sister's footsteps retreating and the door closing.

Sighing, she continued picking up the toys, and found herself sitting on the porch stairs once she had finished.

"Hey, you coming in? It's about to start storming."

Jackie asked, and Zela shook her head, and continued looking forward, and Jackie sighed and walked outside to look at her.

"What's wrong with you? You won't even look at me."

Jackie said, standing in front of her, and Zela shook her head again, and looked away as Jackie rolled her eyes and scoffed.

"Is this about last night? With Cole?"

She asked, and when she noticed Zela glance at her, she laughed dryly and crossed her arms.

"You realize you aren't dating him, he's not yours to keep from people."

Jackie started, and Zela looked at her younger sister finally, and sighed rubbing her temples.

"I'm not in the mood for this, Jackie."

She warned, as she closed her eyes, her dull headache coming back.

"Why? Because you're making it seem like I'm not allowed to do what I want with who I want."

She yelled at her, and Zela looked at her when she yelled, and glared harshly.

"It's not that, Jackie! It's the fact that my sister is never here! It's the fact that I can't go to you about nothing anymore because you're never here! Cole has hurt me in ways you wouldn't know."

Zela yelled back, and Jackie looked at her as Zela got up walking towards her.

"You act like I knew that! News flash, I didn't!"

"That's because you're never fucking here!"

Zela screamed at her, and Jackie shoved her sister back, and Zela glared at her and scoffed.

"So what if Cole hurt you? I lost my parents and sister! I'm also hurt!"

Jackie yelled and Zela's face morphed into pure rage, and she laughed dryly.

"I lost my parents twice! I lost a sister too! You didn't have to go through it twice like I did! You're my sister, the least you could do is be there for me instead of always being out with your friends!"

Zela yelled out and Jackie watched her, and looked at her plainly.

"Stop calling me your sister, we're not even related. It's not like we're actually sisters. I lost mine in the car accident."

Jackie said, and the words she said, splashed Zela in the face like it were acid being thrown at her. Hearing those words, she stumbled back and shook her head, as Jackie walked around her and slammed the door shut.

Falling down onto her knees, the rain started pouring and Zela cried, as she was losing everything she truly loved.

"Zela? Zela."

Cole yelled, as he walked up to her and looked at her through the rain.

"Get away from me! You caused all of this!"

Zela yelled as she pushed Cole away from her, and Cole looked at her, as she was crying and he felt hopeless in this moment.

"Everything that has happened, has happened because of you. You did this! I trusted you! Get away!"

She yelled, pushing him again, and Cole grabbed her hands, pulling her to him, as Zela collapsed into his arms sobbing.

Feeling her knees give out, Cole fell down to his knees with her, holding her close as she was softly punching his chest.

The rain surrounded them like it was nothing, and Cole was holding her, letting her cry and hit him.

Rocking her back and forth, he didn't care that he was getting soaked or muddy, his number one priority was her.

He refused to leave her outside in this weather, and he heard their argument, and he even yelled at Jackie.

"I'm sorry. I know words aren't going to heal up the wounds that you've been inflicted, but just know. I'm sorry."

He told her, as Zela was practically helpless to the point Cole had to carry her inside, and helped her get undressed and gave her a bath, and he didn't even look at her in ways he'd do if a girl was naked in front of him.

He was there for her, when she needed him the most.

"Please don't look at me."

Zela sniffled out in the bath, as she was curled up in a ball, while Cole was washing her hair, not even caring that he was still dirty.

"I'd never look at you without your permission."
