sixteen.

"Get up!"

Groaning and holding onto her pillow, Zela whined when her comforter was ripped off of her body, and she dug her face into her pillow not wanting to get up.

"I told you she'd be here, rotting in bed."

Nathan said, and Zela made a noise of offense when she heard that, and she squealed as she felt herself being dragged off the bed.

"No, no! Danny!"

She yelled, as she was trying to hold onto her bed, but was successfully pulled off by him.

"Get dressed, Cole isn't going to wait forever, you know?"

Danny told her, and Zela looked up at him in worry, "What?"

She asked exasperated, and Danny pointed behind him, to where the entrance to the barn was.

"Everybody is ready for school except you."

He said, and Zela almost felt stupid when she thought he was meaning something completely different.

"Nathan even picked out your outfit, since he knew you'd not want to get dressed extravagantly."

Danny also added, as Nathan was holding up the clothes he picked out, and Zela got up from the floor and grabbed her clothes as Danny turned around to give her privacy.

"Nathan, help."

She whined, still extremely tired, as Nathan had to help her slip on the black pants she was wearing.

"There, need any other assistance?"

Nathan asked, as Zela pouted and shook her head when she put on her jacket, and put on the white boots she grabbed randomly.

"Then let's go, Cole grabbed an orange for you and even made you tea."

Danny said, as they all three walked out and Cole was leaning against the car his arms crossed.

"She lives, now come on we're going to be late."

Not having the energy to even say anything in return, she looked into the car to see Alex and Jackie being all affectionate, and she slowly turned to the three boys who all looked at her.

"What chapter did I sleep through?"

She asked, as she pointed behind her, and Nathan chuckled as he opened the door.

"They're dating now."

Danny whispered and Cole went around opening the passenger side door for her, and Zela muttered a quick thanks as she sat down seeing her tea in the cup holder.

Grabbing it, she took a quick sip and sighed in content as Cole quickly pulled out of the driveway.

"There's a big bonfire happening and all of us are going."

Cole said, and Zela looked over at him, remembering what happened the last time she was at a bonfire.

"There won't be any sort of drinking."

He clarified as he glanced over at Zela who sheepishly looked away, and nodded her head.

"Hey, where's Cole?"

She asked Danny, who only shrugged as Nathan was sipping on his coffee and looked down at the island.

"He's outside."

He said, and Zela looked at them and hummed in thought, wondering if he was about to leave for the bonfire.

"Do you think he's leaving for the bonfire?"

Nathan quickly added, and Zela shrugged her shoulders and looked at Danny.

"It's Cole, he's probably trying to sneak away to the bonfire alone."

She mumbled, as she sat down beside Nathan who was looking down in thought.

"Is he still ignoring you?"

She asked, and Nathan nodded his head, and she rubbed his back and kissed his cheek.

"Just give it time."

She told him, as she held his hand, and he nodded his head with a small smile.

"When do you guys want to head out for the bonfire?"

Danny asked them, and Zela shrugged her shoulders as she sipped on her tea.

"Now?"

He asked, and the three looked at each other as they all ran outside to the vehicle where Cole was about to leave.

"No, no."

Cole said quickly, and Zela pouted as he sighed giving in, and everyone piled in as Zela sat beside Jackie, and Cole adjusted the mirror to look in the back, more specifically, Zela.

"Are we almost ready back there or what?"

Cole asked, and everyone agreed as Cole quickly pulled out and drove to the location that the bonfire was being held at.

Sipping on some beer, she knew Cole said there would be no drinking to mainly her, but she wanted to at least drink some.

Sitting and watching Grace play beer pong with Isaac, she sipped on her beer noticing how Cole kept stealing glances to Alex and Jackie, which was rubbing her the wrong way.

Watching as Grace and Isaac won, Zela cheered and smiled brightly at Isaac as he was having a fun time.

"Hey, Jackie and I have next game, okay?"

Hearing Alex, Zela looked over to where Cole and Alex were talking, and she slowly walked towards them, close enough to where she could hear their conversation.

"Are you serious right now?"

Alex asked, as he looked angry, and Zela looked between them confused.

"I was just talking about beer pong."

Cole said, shrugging his shoulders, and looked at Alex smirking.

"Just because you're jealous..."
"You think I'm jealous of you? Yeah, right."

"You know what Cole? Why don't you just run back to Erin, or Paige, or Olivia, and leave me and Jackie out of it."

Alex said loudly, catching everyone's attention, and she instantly looked over to Erin as she looked to Olivia.

"Olivia?"

Erin asked, and Olivia went pale, and looked away from Erin her smile dropping.

"Yeah, I don't think I will. Matter of fact I don't think I have to do anything because if I just wait long enough, I think they'll all come to me anyway, right?"

Cole said, and Zela's heart broke when she heard those words, she felt everything around her spinning and she dropped her cup of beer as she watched Alex punch Cole.

"What about Zela? Huh? You just going to lead her on, and break her heart? Don't you think she's had enough of those already?"

Alex said, as Jackie ran to Alex, "Remember when you said it was not about Paige? I guess that's not the case, huh? Are you okay, Cole?"

Jackie asked, as Zela looked to Alex, tears welling in her eyes, and Cole got up looked behind him to see a heartbroken Zela standing there.

"You promised."

Zela said, her voice cracking as she ran back to the car, Nathan running after her.

"Come on, let's go."

He said, as he helped her in the car, and held her close as she wasn't looking at anyone, as the tension in the car was thick.

The first thing Zela did was start walking towards the loft, and Cole tried to catch up with her.

"Don't."

She said, her voice breaking, and she looked up at him with anger and sadness.

"You told me that you wouldn't break my heart, that you'd mend it back together. Now I learn you're also going after my sister after you told me all that stuff? You know what you did, Cole? You shattered the rest of my heart. You did the one thing you said you wouldn't do."

She said, crying, as she stood there, and everyone watched from a distance, and Zela shook her head as Cole tried to reach for her to explain.

"I hate you! Go away!"

She yelled loudly, and Cole was pulled away by Danny, and Alex walked over to Zela and quickly hugged her, as she sobbed into his chest.

"Thank you for standing up for me."

She whispered to him, and Alex rubbed her back and kissed her head.

"Cole should have been punched a long time ago."

He said, as she looked up at him as he wished her a good night, and everyone went inside, as Zela went up to her loft where she turned on The Notebook.

" "You're as beautiful as the love in The Notebook." What a load of bullshit, I hate you Cole."

She whispered to herself, as she watched the movie, and Danny soon came up to her loft, and got in bed with her as she cuddled him.

"Nathan's bringing you some leftover soup, and tea. We'll be here with you."

He whispered to her, as she sobbed into his shirt, muttering, 'I hate you, Cole' over and over again.
