fourteen.

Waking up to the Harry Potter Gryffindor Common Room Fire playing on her TV still, Zela got dressed into a somewhat similar outfit from the one before, and sat back down on the bed debating on what she'd be doing since she was now on Thanksgiving break.

Sunday's were usually the days she'd be spending with her friends in New York, but now? Her only friends she could rely on were the ones she considered family: Nathan and Danny.

"Guess who brought Sleeping Beauty breakfast? I'll give you a hint it's not Prince Phillip."

Hearing Danny's voice she laughed as she watched him carry up a tray of different foods, and Nathan trailing behind him as they both sat down on her bed.

"What's this?"

She asked, pointing to a bowl, and Nathan laughed as he hit Danny's arm.

"That's Danny's attempt at a açaí bowl, he overheard Cole mentioning you liked them to mom."

Nathan told her, and Danny rubbed the back of his neck as he looked away sheepishly.

"Well I think it looks great."

She told him, as he picked it up, mixing the oats in with the smoothie, and taking a big bite.

"That's actually really good, how'd you make this?"

She asked, as she kept eating it and Nathan grabbed her mannequin that she had Erin's outfit hanging on, as he examined it.

"I looked up how to make one on youtube, a step by step tutorial..."

Danny said, as Zela giggled shaking her head as she finished eating it, and sipping on her tea that they had brought up with the tray of food.

"So, why is this outfit so, bleh?"

Nathan asked, and Zela looked over to him as he was examining it and she shook her head.

"Erin hasn't picked out the actual cloth material she wants, or the color, so that's just the base of what it will look like."

She explained to them, and Nathan nodded as he sat back down on the bed and looked up to the ceiling.

"Mom got onto Jackie, you know?"

Nathan randomly spluttered out, and Zela looked down at him, as Danny laid his head in her lap once she moved the tray to her desk.

"How'd that go?"

She questioned, and Nathan shrugged as he played with his flannel he was wearing over a regular shirt.

"There wasn't any yelling involved, but apparently Jackie was having a rough time getting used to everything. I mean they bleached her hair the first week she got here, and you were left untouched. Not to mention Erin gives her a hard time but is best friends with you. Jackie basically just blamed stress on how she acted."

Nathan told her, and Zela's eye twitched as Jackie thought it was a good enough excuse to say those things to her and lie about something that big to Alex.

"But I do know, Jackie is going to apologize at some point today, but I did overhear mom say that you were allowed to stay in the loft however long you needed."

He finished, and Zela sighed as she fiddled with Danny's beanie that was on his head, and Danny was playing with the strings on her bloomers she had made.

"I'll probably just stay here for the rest of the time I'm here, I actually like it a lot better than being woke up with screaming children."

She admitted, as they all got up to go inside the house, and Danny had carried Zela on his back to the house.

"Sleep well in the loft?"

Katherine asked, and Zela gave her a quick nod as she was pulled by her two best friends upstairs. Before they could make it into Nathan's room, Jackie stepped in front of Zela with a small smile.

"Hey, I uh. I just wanted to apologize for everything I said. I know I should have never said it, but I've been so stressed out lately."

Jackie said, and Zela sighed as she covered Jackie's mouth to stop her rambling.

"It was nice of you to apologize, but I don't accept your apology. No amount of stress should cause you to even say that kind of stuff, so there was no excuse for what you did."

Zela said sternly, and Jackie slowly nodded as she knew her older sister was right. The guilt was growing all over Jackie's body like a parasite.

"Hey there, Apple."

Hearing his voice, she turned to look at him as Jackie quickly went downstairs without another word.

"We'll be in there."

Nathan said, as he and Danny left her outside and Zela watched as Cole leaned against the bathroom door only a towel wrapped around his waist.

"Hey, Cole."

She said back, and looked at his eyes only, not allowing her eyes to trail down his body.

"Sleep okay out there?"

He asked her, as he walked beside her, and the scent of his shampoo had Zela weak in the knees to the point she only nodded her head.

"That's good. I'll see you around, Apple."

He said, as he closed the door to his room and Zela looked around before she cleared her throat and walked into Nathan's room where Alex was playing a game, more than likely with Kiley.

"We were wondering if you'd want to do something later?"

Danny asked as she sat down and she hummed before she shook her head and looked down at her fingers.

"I'd love to, but I'm still grounded and I really want to start on an outfit for Thanksgiving."

She told them, and Danny leaned over whispering in her ear, "Make it red."

Laughing quietly she shoved him away softly and sighed as she laid back and looked up at the sky. Thanksgiving was creeping up and she'd already gotten used to it without her biological parents, now she's having to go through it all over again.

To say the least, she was not looking forward to this year's Thanksgiving.
