- Chapter 5 -

The pinapple head was defeated!

Miyori

The first thing I did after leaving Ikkaku was to ran back in my office. Once I opened the door, I glanced at my captain who was sitting on his desk, filling in some papers. Taking a big breath, I approached him steadily and tried to act as normally as I could.

"Captain Ichimaru?" I managed to ask, putting aside my anxiousness and nervousness.

His hand stopped writing and he looked up at me with his usual sly smile and closed eyes, "Yes?"

"Do you have any news from the intruders?"

"Concerning their movements, no. But I was informed about their appearances, something you are required to learn if you encounter one of them." He brought out a piece of paper and began reading it, "There is only one female with strangely orange hair and she seems to be the healer. However, she has a special power which can be used for offensive attacks too. There is also a Quincy who wears the signature white uniform of his race and a human with an artificial fist. It seems to be working with spiritual energy. There is also a soul coming from outside the Seiretei. You will recognize him immediately as he wears the characteristic clothes of souls. And lastly, there is Ichigo Kurosaki, who seems to be a shinigami. We don't know if he is a rebel from Seiretei or if he is from the Human World- yet he is dangerous."

Once he finished his report, I stood frozen. A Quincy was alive in Seiretei. Ichigo's name was written down. Too many things were going down- how was I supposed to face all of them? They were surely not my business but I felt as if I needed to do something.

Suddenly, a hell butterfly came through the window and settled upon the desk. "All the Vice-captains must come for the meeting. I repeat..."

I heard to the message and then dismissed the butterfly. I left the office as fast as I could, with the thoughts still on my mind, and headed towards the meeting place. Once I opened the door, a crowd of thirteen people greeted me. I walked quietly in the left corner of the room where a Lieutenant was already seated- Renji Abarai, was it?

I stood besides him and observed his strange tattoos- they were pretty cool but that was not the matter at the moment, "What's up with that meeting?"

"I don't really know, but we'll find out" he replied shortly and both of us looked at the man with glasses who stood in the middle of the room. He brought out a piece of paper and began reading.

"From the 11th division, Ikkaku Madarame-sama, the 3rd seat and the 5th seat, Yumichika Ayasegawa-sama... The above seated shinigamis have left the front line due to severe injuries!" four-eyes exclaimed and seemed to be surprised by his own words. When I heard Ikkaku's and Yumichika's names, my stomach began to hurt. "Each division is reporting minor injuries. However, the 11th division, was reported to have been completely wiped out."

"The 11th division!"

"No way!"

"The intruders only came a few hours ago... That's a lot of causalities..."

I stared hopelessly at the man who had brought us this announcement. The 11th Division was one of the strongest- no, the strongest division in all of the Seiretei. The fact that they were wiped out by a handful of intruders was completely stunning and shocking. If they were wiped out, how were we going to survive?

"There are confirmations from witnesses for 3 Ryuuka(= intruders)... Two of them kidnapped a member of the 4th division and are moving toward the Centre of the city." My eyes widened at his statement. Moving toward the centre of the city? I furrowed my eyebrows in anger and confusion. Ikkaku. . . How could you?

He couldn't have just told to everyone about what I had trusted to him. . . About Ichigo's moves to save Rukia. . . Could he? Leaving those thoughts aside, I began walking away from the Vice-Captains. I needed to go and act as a back up or things would take an awful twist if one particular man was heading towards Ichigo right now.

Just as I was ready to exit the room, a board man stood in front of the door, blocking the door. I'm sure he was looking down at me through his sunglasses and for that reason, I glared up at him, "The meeting is not over yet."

"Get out of the way," I nearly yelled at him with determination yet he didn't budge even a bit. Darn my shortness.

He crossed his arms in front of him and scoffed, "What if I won't?"

"Then, I'll do this," I sang and in a split second, I had disappeared from in front of him. What I had done was to simply use Shunpo and transport out of the room. In reality, the simp,e technique was exhausting me but I managed to stand up on my two feet and find my way back in the treatment rooms. Surprisingly, I arrived there in less than five minutes and managed to find Ikkaku's room on my own.

When I entered, I saw him asleep. And of course, I did the only normal thing a human would do. "Wake up!" I yelled in his ear as loudly as I could.

"What the he- Oh, it's you." Ikkaku had jumped up from his sleep and had instantly went to grab his zanpakuto but had calmed down when he had seen me. Truth was that he was seeming calmer than I had thought, despite the fact that he had just betrayed me.

"What  did you say about Ichigo and the other intruders?" I questioned him with a steel glare being shot at him.

"Ehm.. Why do you care?"

That's it. "Damn you, Ikkaku. I trusted you!" I shouted in exaggeration and thought how stupid I was to trust him such crucial information. Too naive.

"My captain came here, what I was supposed to do!? I had to tell him all," he tried to apologize, but I just shook my head disappointed. Zaraki Kenpachi was the strongest man in Seiretei and since he was going to find Ichigo. . . I'm afraid that Ichigo is damned.

"You are such an ungrateful bastard!" I lastly yelled at him and turned my back to him, slamming the door shut. Some Soul Reapers of the 4th Division eyed me worrily but I just continued on my way out of the treatment rooms. Ikkaku's betrayal stank. Literally.

"Hey you!" I heard a voice yelling from my side and before I could see who was talking to me, two strong arms grabbed my tiny body, threw me above a shoulder and began rocking, sign which showed that we were moving.

I began squirming around and I tried to escape his strong hold but all my struggles went in vain."What the hell are you doing? Who are you?"

"I'm Iba Tetsuzaemon, Vice-Captain of the 7th division," he informed me sharply and made an annoyed sound with his mouth. I managed to turn my head up and with surprise, I recognized the huge guy from before.

"Put me down! Something is going to happen if I won't stop it!" I threatened him -which was partly the truth- but he just kept walking like nothing had happened. I swear I will annihilate that guy.

He dropped me in the room that the meeting was before, but for some reason, no one was left there. I mentally thanked all the good people who had left before our arrival and I made the peace sign to the big guy. "Oh, seems that none is here; got to go, big-guy-kun!" I winked playfully at Iba and before he could protest, I had already sped off to freedom.

The first move I had to do was to return back to my division's barracks and ask for some help from a trustworthy person. The only person I had trust in from my division was my captain. . . and Kira-kun. He seemed like a nice person too. Once I arrived at the barracks, I noticed Kira talking with a tiny girl with brown-ish hair combed in a tight ponytail. I recognized her face from the Lieutenants' meeting yet I couldn't recall neither her name nor from which division she was.

"I hope he is not doing anything foolish..." I heard Kira mumbling as I approached them from behind.

"Who is doing what?" I questioned cryptically as I reached the duo from behind. Both tensed up and looked at me guiltily. What were they planning on doing?

"Waahhh, nothing, none!" the tiny girl (who was slightly taller than me for some reason) tried to explain with a small blush of embarrassment being shown on her cheeks.

"Kira-kun..." I pleaded him and looked at him with the sweetest puppy-dog eyes I could manage to bring out.

"That's never gonna work on me," he declared with a cold tone in his voice and began walking away. A slight pout made its way up to my face as I started chasing him.

"C'mon!"

Rangiku just got back from the Vice-captain's meeting and she lied on the couch. I was ready to tell her to get back to her work, but I dropped it. This day was tough enough for Rangiku. She had to control the actions of one big part of our division and she had already done two pages from her paperwork. It was a huge improvements for her likes.

What's up with those intruders? Rangiku hadn't stayed awake for enough time in order to inform me about what they had told her in the meeting and my guts were giving me a bad feeling. Something big was going to happen.

Suddenly, the door swung open and a familiar red head intruded my office, panting heavily as she stood in front of me, "Captain. . . Hitsugaya. . ."

"What do you want?" I questioned quite abruptly and looked at Lieutenant Hono indifferently. I had to see her since the time at the treatment rooms.

"I report. . . Captain Commander Yamamoto sent me to inform you that we have to do our best to defeat the intruders. The 11th division has been wiped out and Renji Abarai, Lieutenant of 6th division, was defeated in a battle minutes ago," she informed me as fast as she could and I stared at her in disbelief. Abarai was defeated in a battle?

The intruders are very strong and if we won't be careful, they can take over Soul Society. But why did they come here? What do they want? What is the reason behind this?

That was the moment Rangiku let out a huge yawn and sat up, rubbing her forehead. She stared sleepily at me and Miyori, leaving another yawn. Time to wake up, I thought mischievously and grunted.

Miyori let out a final breath and began walking out of the room, "Whatever, I have to go and check on the pineapple head. Good luck, Captain." And with those words, she left the room.

Rangiku, now fully awakened, stared at the door and then glanced at me, "Captain, from where do you know her?"

"I met her one day I was walking around," I stated with my usual voice and sat back in my desk, avoiding Rangiku's playful gaze.

"Ohh, she is the girl you told me you met!!! She is so cute!! Like you!" Rangiku exclaimed dreamily and tried to make a cute face which turned out to be a creepy one.

"I'm going for a little walk," was my sole response to her and before she could ask me where I was heading to, I slammed the door shut behind me and concentrated in the reiatsu. Small lights flicked in my visions and I began sensing Abarai's which was completely weak and was fading away. Two other reiatsus seemed to be besides him and were quite strong. I recognized the first one as Hinamori's and the other was quite familiar but I couldn't put a finger on it yet.

I decided to take my way towards Abarai and that's what I did. Once I arrived to the place, I took a glimpse of Lieutenant Hono's hair and Abarai's body laying on the floor. I was ready to enter but I stopped dead on my tracks once I heard an all-too-familiar voice.

"Oh---- So scary!" I glanced inside and I saw captain Ichimaru. Now, there was no way I would get in there.

"Captain Ichimaru!" Miyori exclaimed surprised and stared at her Captain.

"He actually said those words. The sixth division Captain is as scary as usual," Gin declared with that sly smirk still on his face. He must have been talking about Captain Kuchiki. "Don't worry! I can help you contact with the fourth division. Come with me, Hono."

"Hai," Miyori replied and trailed behind Ichimaru. Both of them began leaving the scenery which was some kind of relief for me.

"S-sorry to trouble you!" Hinamori called and looked at Abarai sadly. I appeared behind of her by using Shunpo, back to back. "Owah----! How did Abarai get beaten so bad!" I exclaimed  and Momo left a tiny squeak of surprise.

The female turned around and eyed me, a small smile replacing her shock, "Hi, Hitsugaya-kun."

"Oioi, I'm already a captain! You shouldn't adress me like that!" I scolded her like when we were children. I liked to play with her, even if it wasn't obvious when being around others.

"Be quiet! That's enough! How come all the captains don't make any sound when they walk! By the way, Hitsugaya-kun, why are you... Why are you here?" Momo asked me with curiosity and I could hear the hint of mystery her voice held. "And you didn't bring your Vice-captain..."

"I'm here to give you some advise. You have to watch for the third division," I announced to her, my eyes not daring to land on her figure.

"Huh? The third division? You mean Kira-kun and Hono-san?" Momo questioned with confusion this time.

"I'm talking about Ichimaru, but beware of Kira and Hono as well. Anyway, it's not gonna hurt you to keep an eye on them. Especially.... when Aizen is taking a walk alone at night.".
