- Chapter 14 -

Arrancars; Watch and Learn

My head snapped up as I sensed the strong spiritual pressures. I can sense them... 7 Arrancars, one more stronger than the other. What am I going to do?

I looked at Toshiro who seemed to be sensing them too as his eyes were widened in shock. His emerald eyes travelled on me and then he immediately took out a small caramel which he popped in his mouth. His soul left his gigai which was now standing up with the help from the soul which was in the caramel. "Go and find a place where you won't get hurt" he ordered his gigai which nodded and left.

I took a small caramel too, leaving my gigai. "I will go and help someone with the Arrancars or I will find a human who needs my help" I explained to him before jumping off the building and making my own way towards the Arrancars.

Everyone has a partner except... Renji-kun! I'm going to help him, I thought after making my way towards the place he was previously sleeping, Urahara's Shop. I hopped behind him without him noticing me, and I saw that he was fighting with a blond Arrancar.

But he isn't that strong. And he doesn't seem strong, so... I will sit down and watch until there is a problem.

"Let me give you some treatment he got. Roar, Zabimaru!" Renji yelled as he made his attack to the Arrancar. But once he flicked Zabimaru, his zanpakuto, both of us knew that this battle wasn't going to end very well.

The Arrancar's gaze landed randomly on me and a small smirk appeared on his face "Ah, I see another Soul Reaper came here" he said as his smirk grew wider. "I will deal with you later"

"Later? Ha! Let me tell you, if you want to fight me, then you'll have to pass from Renji first and this isn't going to happen, not even once in a million, here me?" I yelled at the Arrancar with an angry expression on my face.

Renji turned to look at me with a small shock "Captain Hono? What are you doing here? And when did you get here?"

"Hm, I just came here and I'm watching your match with that Arrancar-- I want to see who is going to die first" I explained with a bored expression and a small smirk.

"Whaa? You are just going to watch me dying and not going to help me?" Renji yelled at me with a nerve pop on his face.

A left a small sigh and stood up "Ne, ne, you have no confidence, Renji~ I'm just going to kick that Arrancar's ass if you won't. Besides, you must be a weakling since you are not going to attack that thing" 

Renji's face became as red as my hair from the anger that was boiling inside him and he turned his attention to the Arrancar, lunging his sword at him "Well, I'm going to prove you wrong, then!''

....

The battle between the two men continued with Renji releasing his Bankai and me watching with anxiosity. Renji isn't that strong to defeat the Arrancar. Dammit...

I concentrated so I could sense the other's reiatsus and check how well they were doing. Ichigo, Ikkaku and Toshiro have released their Bankais but they are not doing it much well. Rangiku-san... She needs help, but Toshiro is close to her. 

Wait a minute... Rukia! I can barely sense her spiritual pressure, so she might be... Oh no. Shall I go and help her? But... Ichigo is close to her so she is going to do fine. Yumichika, thank god he is still safe.

Otherwise, I have to step in and help everyone out. But I can't forget what Yamamoto-san has told me before I left...

--- Flashback ---

I was ready to leave the 1st Division's office after I got the approval of joining the mission, when Yamamoto's voice interrupted my way out "Captain Hono, I would like to have a small talk with you"

I nodded and made my way back to my seat, not taking my gaze off him. "Hai, Yamamoto-san?"

His hand took some papers and he showed them to me "Captain Kurotsuchi made a research about your spiritual pressure, combat capabilities and your zanpakuto's power, before you became a captain. They were abnormally high-- we are still searching about the source of the unusual numbers. But, until we find the reason behind this, I want you to do me a favor"

My gaze drifted on the papers before looking back at the old man "Hai"

"While you will be on this mission, you will be in charge, you will be hiding your spiritual pressure from everyone and...."

---End of Flashback---

"You will help out your comprades on battle when there will be only a great danger in your path" I repeated the words of the Head Captain as I clenched my fist. But I can't just sit there and do nothing! It makes me feel like a coward...

My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the yells of the people around me. My head snapped next up, where Renji was staring stunned right in front of him. "Shit!" I mumbled as I used shunpo to appear in front of him.

His gaze was fixed in front of him and he didn't even notice me. I placed my hands on his shoulders and started shaking him hard "Renji! Oi! Snap out of it!"

"Oi!! Stop it, I'm fine! How the others are doing!?"

"Baka! Stop being concerned about the others and care a little about your own self, or you're gonna die, hear me?!"

He ignored me and kept staring stunned in front of him. I turned around and saw a small girl with pitch black hair high up in two ponytails sending the Arrancar almost one kilometer away with one kick. I have to say, her spiritual pressure was much more than Renji's-- her abilities are excellent and she is very strong.

A small smirk formed my lips as I looked at the red-haired male, deciding to piss him off a little "Oi, is that little girl stronger than you? She is beating the crap out of that dude"

"You think this is all I can-" Renji was cut off by a bright light.

I turned quickly my head at the Arrancar and the girl, while my eyes opened wide. Crap!! He is releasing his zanpakuto!!

"Little girl!! Get out of there quickly!" I yelled at the small girl but it was too late. The Arrancar stabbed her on the chest with his sword. I cursed mentally as I flash-stepped towards the girl before she could get killed, after she was dropped down by the Arrancar.

"Captain Hono!" I heard Renji's voice yelling behind me.

"Take care of that Arrancar, I will take care fo the wounded!" I yelled at him as I placed the girl close to the other wounded, Toshiro and Rangiku who has just come here.

The problem is that I haven't healed so many people at once. But what if... what if I try to use something... , I started thinking before I got cut off by Toshiro's yellings.

"Captain Hono! Heal the girl, we will take care of the Arrancars!" I stared at them stunned before placing my hands above from the tiny body of the girl and releasing as much reiatsu was needed to heal her fatal injuries.

While I was healing the small girl, I was stealing glances from the current battles. Suddenly, Toshiro, Rangiku and Renji released their Gentai Kaijo, a technique which could only be used by 1 Captain and 2 other Soul Reapers. During this technique, their body is releasing 80% of their spiritual pressure which is giving them a power level over the Bankai's. 

When the battle was over, with the Soul Reapers as winners, Toshiro was left unconscious on the ground and I had finished healing the little girl. I ran up to Toshiro when Renji's hand stopped me from healing him. "Orihime will do it" was all he said before taking him on his back.

I looked at Rangiku who was being healed by Orihime and I smiled a little. Rukia was severe injured but she was healed too, all she needed now was relaxing. My gaze stopped on Renji.

"Renji"

"Yeah?"

I looked at him with a serious look "You are a weakling"

"Whaaaaatt?" was his reaction as he popped an annoyed vein. I laughed at his reaction-- he was overreacting after being teased a little.

I giggled as I made my way, flash-stepping towards where the injured was.

Toshiro

I felt someone holding my hand tightly when another person was stroking my hair. I opened my eyes slightly and slowly, only to see Orihime Inoue holding my hand while healing me and a red-haired shinigami stroking my hair in a motherly way.

"Where- Where am I?" I asked in a low voice, because of my throbbing neck. The shinigami who was stroking my hair came closer to me and now I could recognize her- it was Miyor-I mean, Captain Hono.

She gave me one of her warm smiles while she continued stroking my silver hair "Ne, don't worry Shiro-chan, everything is going to be alright. We are here for you~" she said in a sweet tone.

Without any complain about the nickname she gave me, I closed softly my eyes and dazed into a deep sleep.
