- Chapter 1 -

Paperwork

Miyori

One word. Paperwork. Another word which describes the first one. Boring. I was sitting on the Vice-captain's couch in the 3rd division's office and I was doing my paperwork. God, what the heck is wrong with this couch!? My ass is in pain!

You may wanna know how I got here. Well, when I graduated from the Soul Reaper's Academy, I was chosen to be in the 3rd division. But first, I had to fight with the blond Vice-captain, Izuru Kira, to take a good seat. Did I tell you that my fight with Izuru Kira lasted less than 5 minutes? I immediately knocked him down, combining my skills in Kido and Shunpo.

So, I became Vice-captain here and Kira has currently the 3rd seat. But, this seat has some disadvantages. The main disadvantage is paperwork. All these white papers which are needed to be filled, the time which takes to think about it and the tiredness of the work is enough to make you lose your sanity. My head snapped to the side and my eyes landed on my fox-like captain. He was quiet as usual and he was doing his captain's paperwork which was delivered in our Barracks some hours ago.

His closed eyes, his huge smirk, his long fingers... I looked away with an expression of horror on my face. He was so... scary, creepy that actually made me shiver every time I was talking to him. I continued doing my paperwork without complains as my bright yellow eyes travelled on the almost filled pack with papers.

What the heck we were doing anyway? We were supposed to be fighting Hollows, not filling bunch of useless papers. Sometimes, I just wish I was in 11th division, like Ikkaku and Yumichika, the two men who completely changed my empty and meaningless life.

Suddenly, the corner of my eye caught some movement "Hono-san, can ya go to the 5th division and call captain Sosuke Aizen?" Gin Ichimaru, my captain asked.

"Hai!" I stood up and left the Barracks of the 3rd division, moving towards the 5th division's office. The Lieutenant of the 5th Squad, Momo Hinamori, was one of the friends I made when I first stepped in Soul Society. She was obliged by the Head Captain to show me around the Soul Society and since then, we got stuck together.

Aizen Sosuke... The man I have heard so much about. He was known as the kind, carrying and concerned about his subordinates captain of 5th division. The most entrusted man all over Soul Society. As I was walking towards his office, I suddenly bumped on a tall man which caused me to fall back and hit my butt on the ground.

"I'm sorry... Are you alright?" I heard a sweet voice asking above me and two strong arms helped me to stand up. I looked at the brown haired man, with two brownish eyes hiding behind his glasses. Suddenly, I realized that this kind man was the one I was looking for, Aizen Sosuke.

I made a slight and polite bow at my superior "Good morning, sir! I'm Miyori Hono, Lieutenant of the 3rd division! I was sent by my captain, Gin Ichimaru, who wanted you to go and meet him immediately in his office" I explained and stopped my long greeting to take a breath.

The man looked at me with his honest eyes and nodded. "Thank you for informing me. Please now, enjoy your free time given"

A small smile formed unconsciously on my thin lips "Yosh" I agreed and left him alone. When I lost sight of his white captain haori, I started jumping around and yelling happily. When I stopped jumping, I screamed "Yahhooo!!! No more paperwork, Soul Society!!"

"Why so much happiness?" a cold voice asked and I turned around to see who was speaking to me. A boy at my height with silver hair and turquoise eyes was standing on a wall behind me, wearing his usual shinigami uniform.

I raised an eyebrow at him and crossed my arms annoyed, surprised by his sudden notice "What do you want?"

He left a small (obviously fake) cough and glared at me like I was the one annoying him "The whole Soul Society can hear your yelling and loud voice"

"Stop messing around with me, kid" I scoffed and turned my back at him. Who does he think he is, anyways?

"I'm not a kid!!!"

"Your height is telling me exactly the opposite thing, kid" I said as a playful smirk appeared on my creamy-colored face. He getting furious with this comment and he was ready to yell at me, when I noticed something weird about his uniform. Black Shinigami uniform, sword behind his back, White Captain's haori... Wait. Haori?!?!

"What's the matter?" his voice made me snap out of the daze I had when I noticed his white haori and it made me realize that I had been staring at him this whole time.

"Y-you are a c-captain?" I almost choked in my words and he raised a confused eyebrow at me.

"Yes"

"AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!" I cracked up in laughing like a mad woman, with tears forming the corners of my eyes because of laughing.

An annoyed vein popped on his head and his eyes twitched a little from the anger which was boiling inside him "Oi!! What's the matter with you, brat!?!?" he asked me, obviously annoyed. I continued laughing at him while he was sending me daggers through my skull.

"Is there a problem?" a male playful voice asked. I turned around only to see a certain bald man with an enormous height and his arms crossed staring at us with his black orbs.

My hand clasped on my mouth and I tried to drown my enthusiasm "Ikkaku!!! Shinny head!!!" I yelled and I jumped on his arms, making him look at me surprised.

"Waaaahhh!!!" the male yelled and he tried to put me down while I was messing up with his bald head.

"Shinny, shinny, shinny~~!!!!!"

"Ehm" the boy fake - coughed and interrupted us. Ikkaku opened his narrowed eyes wide and they grew wider when he saw the certain silver headed kid standing in front of us with an annoyed glare.

"Oh, ehm, I'm sorry captain Hitsugaya, I didn't notice you" Ikkaku excused himself quickly when he tried to look serious. No one could look serious with a red haired girl on his arms who was playing with his bald, shinny head. But the head was too shinny, I couldn't avoid it T^T

"Ikkaku-kun, who is that guy?" I whispered in his ear while I poked his big, bald head.

Ikkaku shot a death glare at me before looking back at the boy "He is Toshiro Hitsugaya, captain of 10th division" Ikkaku explained as he saluted in front of the petite figure of the boy.

"Nice to meet you, Shiro-chan~" I greeted with my sweet voice and made the peace sign with my right hand. "My name is Miyori Hono, and I'm th-"

"That is captain Hitsugaya for you" he cut me off, annoyed by the nickname I have just given to him.

"Whatever you say kid"

"Stop doing that!"

"If you will stop cutting me off! As I was saying, I'm the new Lieutenant of the 3rd division"

"That's right. Captain Ichimaru's new Lieutenant" he replied with a small scoff that made me raise a quirked eyebrow. "Hai" I replied proudly, with a small defensive state for him.

"Do you have bankai?" he suddenly asked me. I froze. No one could learn that I had a Bankai, because they would try to make me a captain. I couldn't be a captain!!! I'm too lazy to be a captain and I can't control a whole division!

"No" I lied and I felt myself mentally slapping me, because of the lie. Calm down, Miyori, it's a small lie, not gonna hurt anybody!

"Okay then. See ya later, Madarame-kun " Toshiro said and with a small nod of his head, he turned around and walked away.

"What's the matter with that kid?" I asked Ikkaku with a small pout.

Ikkaku looked at me shocked "He is not a kid! He is older than you think!" Ikkaku yelled in my face and I put my hand in front of his mouth to block the saliva he was ejecting from it.

"Yeah, but he looks like a kid!" I yelled back and clenched my fist towards his face.

"I can't believe that you are my friend" Ikkaku muttered and looked away, not wanting to meet with my gaze.

An anime vein popped on my head and I anime-ish cried, turning my back at him "What do you mean? That Yumichika is normal too?"

"What? Don't bring on Yumichika! He has nothing to do with it!" Ikkaku exclaimed and gave me a death glare.

"He called me ugly, how can I not speak about that guy?" I laughed and continued walking.

Toshiro

I left Madarame-kun and the new Lieautenant of Ichimaru alone. I'm wondering what Matsumoto is doing. Anything but her paperwork. And then I will have to do it. Again.

I entered my monotonous office and I saw the sleeping figure of Matsumoto lying on the white couch of the office.

"Matsumoto" I said, trying to be heard calm. No reaction. "MATSUMOTO!!!" I yelled louder and she jumped surprised from her sleep.

"Wh-what happened?" she yelled and looked around worried, with wide eyes.

I left a deep sigh. "Did you do your paperwork?" I asked her and I recieved the answer I expected.

"Nah, it's very boring"

"Gah" I said and I sat on my chair. She came in front of me and smiled.

"Did something happened?" she asked me and I shook my head.

"It is Ichimaru's new Lieautenant. She... she calls me a kid" I said and a sudden pout appeared on my frowned face, breaking my cold state.

Matsumoto came by my side and she grabbed my cheek. "That's because you are extremely cuteee!!"

"St-stop it!!" I exclaimed annoyed and pushed her away from me.

"Come on captain, it's not bad to have a little crush! Everyone is going to crush on someone sometime" she said and a huge smirk crossed her face, making me blush a bit.

"Wh-what are you talking about? We just met! She can't have a crush on me"

"I didn't mean her. I meant you silly!!!"

"I don't have a crush on her" I stated and I sent her a death glare. What is she saying anyways? I don't have a crush on that baka!

"Yeah right" Matsumoto said with a playful tone in her voice and she looked at me, raising an eyebrow.

"SHUT UP AND DO YOUR DAMN PAPERWORK!!!" I yelled and she ran behind the couch, hiding her face behind her hands.

"You don't have to be so strict" she muttered with a small pout and sat back on the couch, looking at the tons of papers she had to fill with her work.

I sighed and I looked out of the window. I couldn't like Miyori. I mean, we just have met!!! And she makes fun of me... But, no one can warm my cold, icy heart. Not even Momo, who is my best friend. I wonder, is Miyori hiding an icy heart too behind her happy smile and cheerful state?

Miyori entered her office and she saw her Captain sitting on his chair. She waved at him and he didn't move an inch.

"Captain?" she asked curiously.

"Yes?" he asked and he looked at her, putting his arm behind his back quickly.

She looked at him. "Is something wrong?"

"No" he said and he tried to disappear something behind his back.

Miyori smirks and appears behind him. She quickly grabs the thing behind his back and she looked at it. It was a Rangiku doll. She sweat dropped.

"Who is she?" she asked him.

"No one" he said and quickly grabbed the doll.

"You are much of a creeper than I thought" she said and looked at him.
