"Yuri! It's time to wake up! Cmon, we have lots of work to catch up on today before your competition." Victor practically sang through the door, placing one hand in his other and standing on the tips of his feet like a small child. Yuri groaned on the other side of the door but refused to get up. "Yuri, if you don't get up soon I'm coming in there.." Victor warned. There was no reply but a cough. Victor waited a few minutes before slowly opening the door, which revealed Yuri standing on the other side, looking absolutely miserable. "Good morning V-Victor.." Yuri tried to smile but he sneezed and leaned on the wall for support. "Oh no, are you sick?" Victor frowned and placed his hand gently on Yuri's shoulder. "No, I'm fine. Like you said, we have lots of work to do today." Yuri tried getting past Victor but Victor easily moved to block him. "I'm not going to make you practice when you're sick." This time Yuri frowned and shook his head in protest. "I'm fine, honestly. I need to go practice the salchow so let's go.." Yuri once again tried to move past Victor, but Victor gently grabbed Yuri's shoulders and pushed him back into the room and onto the bed. "No, you need rest. Well practice tomorrow when you're better." Victor let go of Yuri and lay down next to him, intertwining his fingers with Yuri's as he drifted off to sleep. Yuri smiled and yawned and fell back asleep. Victor didn't only care about practice and his performance as a coach, but he cared about Yuri as a person.
Through the night, Yuri didn't cough or sneeze at all, but he cuddled up to Victor closely, needing his warmth. When he woke a few hours later, his face was close to Victors chest and Victors hand was on Yuri's back, holding him close while his other hand twirled Yuri's sleek black hair. A light red tint spread across Yuri's cheeks but he nuzzled into Victor, who kissed the top of Yuri's head. "Feel better?" Victor spoke softly. Yuri just nodded and didn't move. "Good." Victor said happily.
