This was just an idea I had in my head while watching Merlin, so hope you enjoy!

"Dad, what's going on?!?" I asked as I stared frightened at my hands, backing away from my father, Prince Arthur, not wanting to hurt him. I had magic. But magic was bad. "Father, I'm scared. I don't want to be evil. I don't want to hurt you"

"You're okay. You won't hurt me," he unsheathed his sword and placed it on the table next to him. A sign that he won't hurt me. He slowly inched over to me.

"But magic is evil, why do I have it?" I questioned, panicking as I backed away from him as he came closer. I was only 10 winters old. My father, Prince Arthur, found me when I was about 5 winters old.

"Ellie. I won't let you die. You are not evil," he told me. Elizabeth. Ellie, my nickname. "I'm going to go get Gaius."

"Can Gaius take away the magic?" I pleaded.

"No, I don't think he can. But he used to be a sorcerer. I think he will be able to help you," he said slowly. I nodded slowly and he left to get Gaius.

Arthur's POV

"Gaius I need your help," I ran to Gaius' chambers.

"What is it, Sire?" he asked, turning to me, hearing the urgency in my voice.

"Come with me. I will explain when we get to Elizabeth's chambers," I said, already leaving. We got to Ellie's chamber's, I found her by the window, staring outside. She still looked scared. I explained to Gaius what was wrong. "I need to know if you can help her."

"But that is impossible," he said, astounded. "Magic can't be given. You have to learn it, even then, if you don't practice it will fade away over time."

"Can you help her?" I asked, more like I pleaded.

"But to help her I would need magic books, and all of them were destroyed during the Great Purge," he told me. "But I may be able to help her. But I will need to use magic."

"Alright. Just help her," I said. I went up to Elizabeth. "Ellie, Gaius can help you. But you must not tell anyone about this, alright?"

"Alright, father," she whispered, I could see a little relief in her eyes, but then the fear was the majority. I started out the door when Gaius grabbed my arm.
