Before I retreat to my shadows
To the dark dry lands,
Which never knew the light of day

Before the dark engulfs me
And takes me back with it,
To everything I've tried to keep at bay

One last rain
Before I close my eyes
And forget what it feels like
To be kissed ever so gently by the drops

One last rain
Before I forget how to live,
And then drift in the dark
Clueless and thoughtless

But before all that happens
I shall dance
I shall twirl and laugh, and sing
Sing of the unrequited
Of the one last rain...
