Carry On by The Score - Shintaro

Another Shintaro and another The Score! But this one literally gave me CHILLS on how much it makes SENSE for Shintaro!!

~

Take a trip inside my head: Shintaro is kind of using sarcasm here. He doesn't really want anyone (Linda) to listen to his thoughts, to enter his head at all; but he's basically just saying "What you see in my head is awful. I'm constantly at war with myself. But I won't give in." He's also referring to Brethren, who not just physically abused him, but mentally abused him too.

Broken bones, I'm left for dead: Many times, Shintaro was beaten down by his father, the Darks, and his thoughts, fears, and doubts. He has been broken by those things (especially Brethren) many, many times.

But still I carry on: When Found rolls along, Shintaro is determined to rise up, to fight, to win, and to carry on. No matter what is thrown at him, no matter what was thrown at him - Shintaro always carries on.

When I am down, (I carry on): Again, Shintaro is determined that no matter what gets in his way, no matter what happens to him, no matter what gets thrown at him, he will keep fighting against Brethren, as long as it takes. He isn't going to back down now. Even when hope was lost, Shintaro has carried on for this long.

Everyone's trying to dig your grave: This line is literally the most perfect line in the whole song. Shintaro was (and is) constantly being hunted by the Darks. In the first book, Thorn was relentlessly searching for him to set Brethren free (that was the plot even from the beginning, Thorn simply failed to do so.). Every single Dark (except Ozai, Moon, and Kai) is against Shintaro, always trying to kill him (though Thorn isn't really anymore.).

When the madness all around us starts to take its toll: This line is great too. Shintaro is hurt mentally, emotionally, and physically by the madness that's going on in the world. He takes it as his responsibility to control the Darks, and its taken its toll on him and continues to.

It's a long, dark, winding road we're on: No one can predict the future. Shintaro doesn't know what's going to happen next, but he knows what he wants to happen. He just hopes that through the next battle to come, he gets his wishes.

The sound of silence ringing in my head: I imagine that this line takes place whenever Shintaro wakes up from a memory or a nightmare. He sits in silence as everyone else sleeps peacefully, and eventually, the quiet starts to get to his thoughts.

This song is perfect for Shintaro. So perfect that I might just change it to his theme song... I don't know, possibly. If that's what y'all think, then great! I will!
