Chapter 19

PUDDING

"Oh no, why do you look like that?"

Jungkook's dark eyes became hesitant, growing weary of my various facial expressions; most of which he was beginning to understand.

I was donning a double chin, my jaw pressed into my throat from the evil grin that contorted my features unattractively.

"We're sneaking out!" I answered with a clap, pulling a wheelchair out from the hallway behind me.

It was hard to miss that Jungkook was getting antsy these last few days; not to mention his surgery was today and he probably wouldn't be able to leave his room for the next week as he'd be recovering.

He raised his eyebrows, a smile bending his face gracefully as he spoke, "Where to?"

"Well, I can't take you far but I found this little courtyard outside the back entrance, I was thinking we could get some extra chocolate pudding as well." I slipped an arm around him while he twined himself around me as I helped him into the chair, his momentum pulling me forward against him.

"Woah, feeling bold today, aren't we?" Jungkook commented into my hair, laughter edging into his voice in an obnoxiously charming way.

"Oops, guess I couldn't help myself," I remarked dryly, pushing myself off him.

I hid the full-blown smile that took over my face, Jungkook had lost that uncomfortable hold that was always in his voice, going as far as to tease and poke fun at me. It was a little weird thing I'd be happy about that but with Jungkook some of the smallest things made me happy.

I think maybe we were becoming close friends. At least, I hope so.

I shook my head to myself, pulling a white face mask off the bedside table, leaning forward to slip it on his face.

He reached up and gave my fingers a quick squeeze.

"Thank you," he said in a muffled voice, his eyes crinkling from a smile.

I simply laughed, ruffling his dark hair while pushing the chair forward with my free hand.

I stopped the chair at the doorway, I gave a little laugh as he peeked around the doorway as if he was in a low budget spy movie, even going as far to add his own spy music.

"Swiper no swiping," I whispered, tiptoeing dramatically down the hall, shushing literally nobody.

"You're so weird." The hypocrite shook his head a little

"M'kay, James Bond."

We snuck down the hallway with a choppy, fast pace, pretending we were isolated, when in fact there were quite a few people considering this was a hospital.

I pushed him into the bustling cafeteria when we got there, giggling like small children as we made our way through the line.

"Stop laughing," he said as he continued to giggle himself.

"Shh," I laughed the sound, almost unable to breathe.

We moved forward in the line until I stood in front of the older lady serving the food.

I gave an exaggerated gasp as I stood in front of her, eyes widening as leaned over Jungkook to get a closer look at her.

"Ajumma... What happened to your face?"

She made a sound from the back of her throat, gently touching her face.

"You look ten years younger!" I exclaimed, unable to hold back a cheeky smile.

Her mouth made a small o, before leaning up to hit my arm, pinching my cheek hard.

"Aigoo, you're such a smooth talker!" She covered her smile before smacking me firmly again.

I let out a slightly pained laugh, rubbing my arm and shot a glare at Jungkook who just let his howls loose.

"Here," she slid a pudding cup forward, smiling cutely before hitting me aggressively once again.

"Aigoo." She felt her face, her cheeks a light pink, then proceeded to beat the shit out me again.

I gave a pained laugh, taking the free pudding.

"Bye-bye," I waved, pushing a cackling Jungkook outside.

"She beat you up!" He snickered aggressively, smacking his legs as he spoke, pulling down his mask so he could speak freely.

"Shut up and eat your pudding," I said with a pout, rubbing my arm.

"This is why you shouldn't flirt with everything that breathes."

"It's a habit, and that wasn't even flirting!" I exclaimed, pushing him down the brightly decorated pathway, vivid flowers lighting up the monochrome hospital.

"How is flirting a habit!"

"Well, you're making a little bitch a habit, so you can't really talk, can you?"

He flashed his bunny teeth at me, shoving a spoonful of pudding into his mouth, making annoying noises as he did so.

"Give me some," I muttered, leaning forward to clamp my mouth around the spoon, only to have him pull it quickly away from my mouth.

Hoe.

He laughed before putting it into my mouth getting most of it my nose.

"Boy, if you don't get-"

I wiped my nose, smearing the small bit on pudding onto his neck.

I gave a screech as he reached around the chair, trying to catch me as I danced away from his outstretched hands.

"Get back here," he said wheeling forward faster than I could run. Wrapping his arms around me, he pulled me back, his face split into a gigantic smile.

Oh no.

My back hit his chest, his arm securing my waist as I gave a short scream, kicking my legs wildly.

"T-this is assault, no, don't you dare!" Jungkook gave a little giggle, nose scrunching evilly as he lifted the spoon, a hefty pile of pudding spilling from the edges. He grinned, bunny teeth on full display.

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry, have merc-"

He gave a flick of his wrist, a thick glob of cool pudding dripped slowly down my face, settling on my bright white shirt.

I calmly slipped off him, deadly silent as I tucked a piece of pudding covered hair behind my ear, a deep breath filling my lungs.

"You cum-guzzling thunder cunt!" I screeched, launching my sandal at him at full force, but the little piece of shit dodged the attack effortlessly.

And he even had the nerve to laugh.

"Oh, you find this funny?" I growled, setting my eyes in my fiercest glare. He nodded in agreement, still cackling.

I shrieked, shooting my other sandal at him as well, unutterably triggered.

This shirt was freaking expensive!

"You know what, Jungkook, it's fine, you have an entire closet of white shirts that are just begging to be destroyed!"

He gasped dramatically, "You wouldn't!"

"Try me, bitch!" I snapped.

"Aemin, did I tell you how pretty you look today?" He affirmed, slightly desperate.

"Oh, do you mean before or after you covered me in chocolate?" I sassed sarcastically, rolling my eyes at his pathetic attempt to butter me up.

"I'm very sorry, can you find it in your large benevolent heart to forgive me?"

Ugh, he was laying it on thick.

"You're lucky I like you," I grumbled, spinning on my heels, cold seeping into my bare feet.

He smiled before saying, "come here, your feet will get dirty."

I turned to look at him, finding him patting his thighs and beckoning me towards him.

Thighs.

Is... Is he offering to let me sit on his thighs?

"Ajsijdfk," I gurgled incomprehensively.

"Come on, I'll wheel you back."

"You're pulling all the stops to protect those shirts of yours," I muttered, taking all my willpower from not letting my thirsty ass make itself even more obvious than it already is.

He clicked his tongue impatiently and tugged me forward by my wrist, pulling me down on his lap.

I coughed a little, my chin doubling instantly.

"Um, isn't this a little..." I hesitated a bit, unsure whether to just let it be.

"It's not weird unless you make it weird, right?" he remarked, tilting his head to the side.

I smiled, "Right."

I kicked my feet and leaned back against his shoulder, warmth seeping through my clothes. He silently handed me a small napkin that he pulled from his pocket.

I allowed myself to relax, melting against him with a swell of comfort that made my eyes grow heavy. I could feel his tense frame ease as well, his soft breath blowing wispy brown strands to brush against my cheek.

Jungkook's soft hums spilled into the silence, the mellow rumbles sending a warm zing across my skin, swells of power rising up his throat.

His voice was balmy yet coarse, blurry yet sharp, warm yet cool, quiet yet strong, velvety yet gritty; it was everything and nothing all at once.

It was the promise of tomorrow.

My eyes met his, those dark irises searing in my own. He was so close, so close I could count his eyelashes, see the tiny beauty mark underneath his smooth rosy lip, almost taste his rain fragrance.

Smooth skin blurred across my vision as he moved even closer, warm breath fanning across my features.

"Don't move..." he whispered huskily, reaching up to brush his fingers against my skin, "there's a bug on your cheek."

Que?

I screamed, wildly flapping my fingers against my face, the action prompting Jungkook to physically hurl me off his lap like a fucking pillow.

"Oh shit! I was just kidding! There was no bug!" he exclaimed, trying to stifle his laughs as I lay spread eagle at his feet.

"Then why the heck would you toss me like fucking beanbag!" I screeched, still not moving from my position on the floor.

"I didn't expect you to start screaming and flapping like that!" he retorted through his laughs.

"Yeah, I didn't expect you to use me like a freaking basketball and look where that got us!"

"I'm sorry I'm sorry, come back," the little shit conveyed so sweetly I think it gave me diabetes.

"Begone, thot."

"Awwe, Aemin I'm sorry... come back~" he half sang.

"Go away, I don't like you," I muttered, rolling away from him.

"You're getting yourself all dirty, come back, please," he said, wheeling after me.

"You can fight me, whore."

"Aemin," he stated in an imperious tone.

"Whore," I mocked in the same tone of voice and continued to roll down the pathway.

"I'm sorry."

I didn't answer, my mouth sewed tight in petulance.

He wheeled forward until he was right next to me, calling my name until finally looked at him.

"I'm really really sorry for pushing you, and tricking you, and throwing the pudding in your face, and laughing when you got beat up, and-"

"Jungkook?" I asked in a feathery voice, peering up at him through my lashes.

"Yes?"

"Shut the fuck up."

"Do you forgive me?" he inquired with a smile.

"No."

"Then, I won't shut up." He proceeded to make some weird ass noises, twisting his face to match them, and it took everything in me not to explode into laughter.

"Let me flounder in my anger peacefully." I groaned, looking up at the sky, and began flopping like a fish of water.

"Why are you like this?" he sighed and pulled me up by my forearms so I was sitting up.

And then I plopped back down.

"We can do this the easy way or hard way!"

I bit down on the inside of my cheek to prevent myself from saying 'I like it hard,' and simply stuck my tongue out at him.

The doe-eyed boy gave a weary sigh, before leaning down and by pure force had me standing on my feet.

Stupid muscle pig.

"Come on." He pulled my peeved form back to look at him, but I refused and chose to stare at the clock above his head.

Oh shit, his surgery was in 40 minutes.

I yelped, crawling into his lap clumsily.

"Wha-"

"Hurry! We're gonna be late for your surgery!"

I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion when we didn't move.

"Jungkook? What's wrong?" I asked as I looked back at him.

His obsidian eyes met mine and just the look of them made my heart ache. He parted his lips, before closing them up again, a faux smile making its way on his face.

"It's nothing, let's go."

"Bullshit," I muttered, concern compelling me to reach out and squeeze his fingers.

He pulled his fingers from my grasp and wrapped his arms around me, clutching on to me tightly.

"Can we just stay for five more minutes, please?" He asked low and nervous.

And so we did and for once, I didn't hate the silence.
