14º Amnesia

Hey, everyone, it's me!

I took a long time again...sorry.

But I have a LONG one-shot for you guys. It's kind of angsty so be prepared.

I had this idea while watching the second season and thinking: 'Hey, what if Meliodas got that amnesia?'

WARNING: Several spoilers from the manga.

Amnesiac!Meliodas x Reader

....

Everything began after that battle with Gaian. Merlin was petrified (literally), but she saved her soul within her sacred treasure Aldan. And thanks to Camelot's priestesses, everyone seemed to have minor injuries.

Well, all but one.

The Seven Deadly Sins were reunited in a room. Not all of them, but yeah. Diane, King, Merlin and Gowther, as well as me and others were standing in front of a bed, looking at the one single man lying on it.

Meliodas

Elizabeth was crying, and I could hear some hiccups. Everyone around me was speechless. Me? I was trying to register this in my brain just like everybody else here. The silence was too much to handle, and I caught myself stuttering.

"A-Amnesia?" I glanced at the Merlin's sacred treasure. "You're kidding, right?"

"Do I look like someone who would play with this kind of situation?" She said sternly. If her magical sphere had eyes, I would be dead right now, because in Merlin's case, looks can kill. "I've already checked it—double checked if you're so desperate—and there's nothing."

I returned my attention to him. He's sitting in a bed at Arthur's castle, quiet and calm, with a blank expression on his face. I hate this expression, makes me remember his demoniac bloodlust mode. "But...he has lived for so many years...Isn't it a lot of memories to forget?"

"Well, I don't know exactly how many memories he forgot, let me see..." She floated towards Meliodas, and stopped at the edge of the bed. The blond man tilted his head, admiring curiously the magic artifact. "Hello, my name's Merlin, and yours?"

"...I don't know, weird glowing sphere." He spoke softly, and almost shyly. His voice tone seemed so strange and so familiar at same time.

"No good." Merlin said, backing away. "I assume he knows the basics, like how to breath, eat and other necessities, but I can't say the same about his persona."

Don't forget that his demon blood was suppressed, because if it wasn't, no one would be breathing right now.

"You seriously can't recognize anyone?" Diane muttered, obviously down. Sure she likes King now, but she still cares for her captain. "It's me, Diane! And there's King, and [Y/N], oh! And Elizabeth! You didn't forget Elizabeth, right?"

Diane, he couldn't even recognize himself. He turned to me, and for a minute I thought that he remembered me. He pointed at me, staring at the giant right in the eye. "Is her...Elizabeth?"

No use, I knew it. And with this, everyone exited the room, except for Meliodas, who was still sitting on his bed.

"This is bad, with the Ten Commandments free from their seal and an amnesiac captain...how are we supposed to win?" King panicked, hugging tightly his pillow. "Gowther, can't you help him?"

"I'm afraid I can't." He spoke in his nonchalant tone. "Captain has lived for thousands of years, and even if I could bring some of his memories back, it would be confusing and dangerous for his brain. I think that an existential crisis waits for him if I try, as a minimal effect. Or maybe it would wake his demon blood, and as everyone knows, nothing good happens when his demoniac side is awake."

"Then we need someone to stay with him and help with his memory problem." Slader pondered. "How about Elizabeth? Meliodas loved her most, and she would be a nice company for sure."

"No, Elizabeth don't know him enough, we need someone who knows him for years, maybe decades or even centuries." Merlin said.

And, just as I expected, everyone turned at me.

"You can't be serious." I deadpanned.

"Well, [Y/N], you were the only one here who knew the Captian before he got into the Seven Deadly Sins, and—before he lost his memory—he told us that you were his childhood friend."

"His what!? I only knew him after he—" I cut myself. That was close. They don't need to know about his connections with the Ten Commandments. It's a fragile subject, and I'm pretty sure Meliodas would prefer talk about it himself.

"I'm not his childhood friend; we meet because of his troublesome attitude towards my old job."

"Oh, and which kind of job you had?" Elizabeth asked.

"Let's say that I worked with spirits, and Merlin, you know that me and Meliodas weren't in good terms, you saw the fight, don't you?" I pleaded, hoping Merlin would understand.

"You mean that children war we saw at the bar after Hendrickson defeat? Please, he was just messing with you. And he's with amnesia, remember? I will repeat, he needs someone who had known him for centuries, there's no one here more qualified for this job than you."

I sighed, if only the Ten Commandments weren't here...

I walked in the room and closed the door behind me. Meliodas was startled for a second, but relaxed when he saw a familiar face. So, not all of his instincts were gone, huh? I pulled a chair, and sat next to his bed. His blank expression was making me nervous.

"Ugh...Hello, my name's [Y/N] [L/N], for now and on, I will be taking care of you." It took every single part of my body to not stutter. He stared at me for a while, and, to my surprise, smiled gently.

"I would introduce myself if I had a name." He said, messing with his blonde locks. "You know my name, right? Everyone but me seems to know."

"Oh...sorry, Merlin must have forgotten, your name's Meliodas." I said, rubbing my neck. He looked unsatisfied, pouting adorably.

"That's it? And my surname?" He questioned.

"You don't have one, and if you have, you forgot to tell me before your memory loss." Now, he's making me think something interesting, does he have a surname? I mean, he had a family, but his family doesn't have a surname?

Ugh, I should stop thinking such foolish thoughts.

"So I don't have a surname...this means that I don't have family?"

"You have, but they are...troublesome."

"Really, how is like?"

"You don't want to know." I said, playing with my fingers. He probably noticed my nervous state, so he tried to ask about something else.

"What about friends?"

"You have tons of them."

"Girlfriend?"

"Err...no, not exactly."

"What do you mean?"

"It's not official...and you're a jerk with her, honestly."

The last part was a half-lie, but he doesn't need to know about this, not now. He tilted his head, trying to think more questions. He glanced at the full-body mirror at side of bed, and turned his attention to it.

"How old am I?" The question almost made me laugh. Almost. Maybe...maybe some teasing wouldn't be bad, and seeing him all proud of his appearance made my devilish side come out.

"Oh you?" I smirked. "I don't know exactly, but you lived for some centuries..."

His eyes widened, and he stared at my reflection in the mirror. "I'm not kidding, you are really old, and this's why I came here to take care of you."

"I'm that old...and look like this?" He spat, a disgust expression covering his face. He isn't happy? Why? He looks so new, so young with his appearance...

But, well, I guess it's boring when you don't pass for any physical change while years were passing by. His body stills the same, his face still the same, and only his personality and traits change. I'm wondering if the 'Old Meliodas' liked the way he looked.

"It's too young...but this body." He examined his well-built arms. And, again, I could feel an overwhelming sense of pride irradiating from his body. "I may be a shrimp, but hey, look at these muscles!"

I started laughing at his funny poses in front of the mirror. His red tank top offered a nice view of his arms and collarbone. I could see a bandage around his chest, perfectly matching the one around his head. There was a faint blush in my cheeks, but back to his bad demon days, when I meet him; I always was red-faced when he showed his muscles, purposely or not, so I guess I grew used to it.

I smiled at a memory, when he wanted to show off his force, using a stick to cut a mountain in half. I was surprised at the time, but I couldn't admit it, because it would bring that shit-eating grin of his. So I just put my best poker face in this world and said "Are you done with your self-exhibitionism?"

Ah, good times.

When I snapped back to reality, Meliodas was staring at me dead in the eye. And speaking of eye, there was a strange purple glow around his orbs, which disappeared in a blink. It's my imagination?

"Oh yeah, we need to talk more, I want to know more about myself."

"Sure you want." I snorted.

I was sitting beside him, petrified. Did he just cut a mountain in half? Using a fragile wood stick? I stammer as I try to keep me calm. I was hanging out with this...bloodlust monster. That's what he is. I take a deep breath when he turned to face me, grinning and waiting for a 'You are Amazing!'

"Are you done with your self-exhibitionism?"

He snickered, sitting down and staring at me with his dark purple eyes. He was so close that I had to choose another thing to stare at his face, his eyes were too deep and I'll lose myself in them if I'm not careful. I decided to focus on his clan mark, which was printed on his forehead, next to his right eye.

"You are an interesting being, Judge."

Is he trying to seduce me again? I pushed him far from me, staring at the sunset, along with his mountain masterpiece.

"Alright, we're done with introductions"

I said, sitting on a chair next to the window, were Diane was peeking inside. Meliodas decided that he wanted to meet his friends, so he could introduce properly. Everything went okay, and honestly, it was hilarious when he was introduced to Elizabeth and—despite everyone thoughts—it was a proper meeting, without any of the 'Old Meliodas' sexual harassment. Everyone deadpanned, and I was struggling against my laugh fit.

"W-Well, he did behave nicely, I was waiting for..." King scratched his cheek, trying to forget his old captain's weird temptations. Meliodas glanced at me, asking with his eyes why everyone was acting so weird. I shrugged; this is something we need to keep away from his memories.

"He knows his name, age, power, force and stuff." I reported, staring proudly at my work. "I suggest we take him for a trip around Liones, something fast while everybody is training."

"Nice idea." Gowther said, turning to Merlin. "Liones is a place where he remained for an important part of his life; it's perfect for his memory."

Gowther agreeing with my idea's kind of suspect, however, Meliodas needs fast recovering, so I guess I can shrug this off.

"Alright then; Arthur, please prepare a carriage" Merlin said, her spiritual form snapped her fingers, as the Camelot's king called for a servant. "[Y/N] and Meliodas will be staying at Liones for the day. When you decided that it's enough, just break this and you'll be teleported to my exact location." Merlin explained, handing me a fragile glass sphere. "I can't use magic, but I think that this artifact will be enough."

"Wait!" Elizabeth exclaimed. "Let me go with them, I can be useful—"

"Out of question" Gowther interrupted "Training also includes you, princess. Captain don't have condition to fight due to his memory loss, and [Y/N] is the only person he needs right now. So please, stay still because your constant whining about helping people when you actually can't is becoming annoying to everyone."

...That was harsh, Gowther, and everybody felt it. I stared down at Meliodas, waiting for a reaction, expecting him to grab Gowther's arm and throw him across the room, but then I remember.

He doesn't have memories.

Diane started yelling to Gowther again, complaining about how rude he was to the princess. Meliodas questioned about his relationship with her, and before I could answer, the servant came back to escort us to Liones.

I guess...I don't need to tell him now, right?

Ugh, he did it again. Another death, and this time was an annoying man who didn't stop blathering about his death! I crossed the forest, looking for the blonde head maniac that just couldn't stop killing!

After a long walk, I decided to take a short break, resting my body against a tree trunk. The birds chirping and the sound of a close waterfall felt so nice...so calming. I felt sleepy, my body leaning to my side, and landing on someone shoulder. I didn't realize I wasn't alone.

Especially with this guy.

I must be very lucky, or the complete opposite. There he was, leaning against the tree trunk, leaves decorating his messy blond locks, and if wasn't for his clan mark and his dark purple eyes, I could swear he was a fairy, or even a human.

"...Could you please get out of my shoulder?"

"Am I bothering you?"

"Yes"

"Then no, thank you."

He shot me a murdering glare, one that could rip my soul away. I paled, but didn't let him go. He growled, putting his hand in my shoulder and pulling me closer. My face was in his neck, and I felt his pulse with my lips.

I blushed. What he is trying to do...

I tried to break free, but hey, he's a demon, and their specialty is keeping their prey quiet in the place so they could appreciate later. However, he let me go after some minutes, mumbling an apology. I told him about the annoying guy, and he laughed wholeheartedly, liking my story.

"I told him that I'm dangerous!"

"That doesn't give you the right to kill!"

After a long ride I found myself in the good and old Liones Kingdom. It gave me sort of nostalgic feelings, but to be honest, I don't have nice memories about this place. Make me remember...he left me. I glanced at the short man beside me, and he seemed to be having a good time, eyes roaming the streets, looking for something to remember.

"What a nice place...I lived here?" He asked, placing his arms behind his head.

"For some years...until the whole thing happened ten years ago." I said, trying finding something that could help his memory. Perhaps visit the castle? I heard Little Gil went on a trip to find out what happened with Dreyfus, and he could be helpful, since he knew a lot about Meliodas' life as a Holy Knight.

That's why I wanted to refuse: I've zero knowledge about his life after Danafor, when he discovered I was following him after he left me. Only because of what happened to his little Elizabeth.

How unfair...I came first.

While I was checking prices of candies, something got my vision. It was a small bar, squeezed between a cheap clothing store and a flower shop. My eyes roam over the establishment's simple logo. It read "Avallo"

Avallo, Meliodas mentioned something about it before. I don't remember exactly what, but probably wasn't important. But still...

I blinked, realizing I was in front of it. It has no windows, so I couldn't see what was happening inside. Meliodas was beside me, holding my hand, and there was worry all over his eyes.

For a minute, I thought I saw purple in them too.

"You want to go in?" He asked, and I found preoccupation in his voice. Damn it, I've made him feel uneasy. I shook my head, not daring to look at him in the eye.

We walked through Liones, finding little memory's remains along the way. He remembered about Little Gil at a Toy Store, remembered about Ban's life when I showed him a forest, and a little about his own past when we came back at the bar. He decided to buy me a single white carnation in the flower shop, using a silver coin he found inside his pocket.

"For you." He said, bowing lightly. I gently took the flower from his hand and placed it on my hair. Hah, I doubt Old Meliodas would waste a coin on me, but hey, he's with amnesia.

I stared at him. That smile, that innocent smile. It had no malice, not the slightest trace of sadness due to his past life. I guess I'll never see this smile again if he recovers his memories. So I'll do my best to enjoy it. And when he's back...

He'll run for Elizabeth leaving you behind!

Way to go, pessimism. I should give something to Meliodas too...Hey, he wasted a coin on a flower for me so he deserves a credit here. A sunflower would fit him very well...but I've a better idea.

Which kind of an idea? Well...Some new clothes. I know Merlin already gave him new ones after Hendrickson's defeat, but his coat was ripped into bloodied rags thanks to Gaian. And his clothes...doesn't fit him

Doesn't fit the new Meliodas

Ugh...I feel a little lightheaded. I need a break. This is why I'm going to buy his new clothes, and then, we're going back home.

"Are we there?"

This was getting annoying already. Sure, everything was my fault because I wanted to scold him again. I guess I should stop, I'm supposed to be in Purgatory judging poor unfortunate souls, sending them to heaven or hell (depending on their actions)

But I'm here, walking with my eyes covered by a bandage, while he leads the way. He, of course, was my favorite demon in whole world, this blonde shrimp. He said he would show me something that I simply couldn't die before seeing. First of all, I'm already dead. Judges in purgatory are souls waiting for their sentence just like the ones we're judging. The difference's due to our actions in life takes more time to analyze. Because of that, they had to guard these souls somewhere, or demons would eat us. So they put us in Purgatory, to help them judging other souls.

Second of all, why is he doing this? Few months ago he was trying taking of my head just for some entertainment. He's been nicer recently, he didn't ignore my advices anymore, he's chatting more, and he even bought me a gift last week. And he's taking me to some event, or to show me something I couldn't die before seeing.

What's going on?

I felt the bandage slipping from my eyes, and when I opened them, I saw it.

The lights...this was...paper lanterns? They were floating in the sky, and reflecting in the water. We're in a bridge, in the middle of a lagoon. The trees around the lagoon protected us from intruders, but leaving the sky open and clear to admire. It was a nature sanctuary.

"A kingdom nearby is having a festival, something about a lost princess." He murmured lightly, crossing his arms over the bridge railing. "This is too beautiful to appreciate alone, you know? So I thought you would like it. By your face, I can say you do."

Speechless. The best word I could find in my vocabulary for me now. He wanted to show this for me, this gorgeous event in this wonderful place. My heartbeats were getting faster. My cheeks are burning.

What I'm doing? Stop it, stop it right now. Don't misunderstand. He wanted to share this with someone who could appreciate it, and I'm pretty sure no one in his family, or his comrades would like to just stand still gazing at paper lanterns.

With this on my mind, I placed my hands over the railing and relaxed, enjoying the moment with him.

Elizabeth was in her room. That's right, her room; the 'New Meliodas' decided to give it to her. He told her last night 'sharing a bedroom with you was something very inappropriate, sorry if I ever made you feel uncomfortable', and then moved to his basement, with Gowther.

Needless to say, but everyone's shocked. Sure, 'New Meliodas' have some improvements in his personality; he's no longer a pervert and is more polite to everyone. But some of his most important features were missing. His slyness, the constant sorrow in his emerald eyes, even his hair was different. Somehow [Y/N] was capable of tame that blonde mess he called hair. He looked so...

Well, if normally Meliodas look like a rebellious teenager, after their trip to Liones he came back completely different. He's wearing new clothes and his hair was straightened. He looked like a curious, innocent teenage boy whose head never left childhood.

He behaved like that. Sure thing, he's a way more serious than 'Old Meliodas', but still cheerful. He treated everyone properly, acknowledged the fact he needs to recover his strength, and was training right now. However, something—or even better, someone— makes him turn down this seriousness.

[Y/N] [L/N]

He's more...cheerful when she's around, clinging to her arm, training and chatting with her, etc. He never appeared so happy before, and she meant true happiness, not when he was faking it so his friends wouldn't worry.

She stared out the window. He's training with [Y/N], the judge instructing him to take control over his demoniac side. Elizabeth saw the black-purplish fire consuming his hands, shaping then like claws. [Y/N] tossed him some wood sticks, and he cut them mid-air.

[Y/N] instructed him to change shape, and then he made wings. Now he was trying to fly. He fluttered, failing in control his wings.

He fell, but he wasn't upset. Meliodas was laughing wholeheartedly, finding some amusement in his fail.

Actually, Elizabeth never saw Meliodas fail, not in combat or even training. He's flawless, or at least he was on that. Elizabeth knew others were watching: Diane was by their side, King was floating around her, and Merlin was downstairs, beholding the scene. Gowther was in basement restraining himself after the whole thing with Guila.

And, with a bitter thought and a heavy conscience, she knew what they're thinking.

"Meliodas did change, for the worse"

"You...what?"

I panted, sweat sliding down my face. I just had run a marathon to find him. He disappeared again, and I guess he took the place with him. I know Elizabeth died, again, and I know what happened to him. I'm so sorry, I wished I did something; however I'm just another lost soul in this world, also tangled in their fingers.

He's mad, I know. But still...

"You heard me, don't follow me anymore [Y/N], I'm done"

He turned, carrying a baby in his hands. I knew exactly what he was about to do, and I'm sick of it.

"Done...Done with what? The fact I'm trying to warn you? That I'm trying to protect you? That I'm worried for you? What are you done about?" I spat, impressed with the harshness of my words.

"Everything that's happening...is my fault." He whispered with a tearful voice. "I want to give her the best life I could manage to, because she suffered for me."

"And do you think she wants you to suffer? She loved you Meliodas, I'm sure of it, so please stop, just hand the baby to a safe family and you're done."

"I know she loved me, when she shouldn't." He mumbled. "What I was thinking? I'm a demon for crying out loud, I shouldn't even..."

"Oh please stop it." I said through gritted teeth, wrath flaming within my veins. "This rambles again: Elizabeth and I shouldn't stay together, she suffered because of me, I'm useless and worthless; please stop it."

My voice tone was weak, but I continued.

"You're...my best friend in this world. The only one I had. Being a judge doesn't let you have this privilege, you know? We can't sympathize with the souls we sent, and I was pretty lonely. I was there for so much time; I didn't believe I could go to heaven or hell." I stared at my feet.

"...But then they came, your victims, ranting about you over and over. It was a pain, and I wanted it to stop, however, on inside, I knew I was just curious about you. Then I meet you and..."

He looked at you, waiting for an answer.

"They're right, you were evil, pure evil." I chuckled dryly. "I thought you're not worth my time, but people keep coming, so I had to convince you to stop. But then...we grew closer, and you became nicer and nicer and I—"

I swallowed, I had to do this.

"I...fell for you. But with no use, you fell for Elizabeth and the whole stuff happened, you already know."

Slowly, I lifted my head to confront him. He was shocked, I could tell. His eyes were wide and his mouth was slightly open. I watched his grip around the baby grow tighter.

"Meliodas, I'm just telling you that so you know I'm worried for you. I can no longer be in heaven or hell, due to my contact with the exterior. I got out of the Purgatory too much, now I'm just a wandering soul, and I don't know when I'll disappear."

Meliodas was petrified. His friend gave up reincarnation for him, maybe I shouldn't tell him that, but maybe he knows.

I heard voices and horses riding. Some knights were coming, and by the enormous hole behind us we're going to get trouble.

But I saw him walking towards them, whispering "Sorry."

That was for Danafor, the baby, or for me?

"Gowther did what?"

I mumbled, mentally replaying the words that came out his mouth. Everyone was reunited in the bar, discussing about Meliodas' progression, when Gowther walked in, opened his mouth and said:

"Captain's amnesia...is my entire fault."

At first, nobody took Gowther seriously. He just waltzed in and blurted it out? That's madness. However, his eyes...had something about them that made me felt uneasy. And he was silent all time after he said that, and that thing with Guila...

Merlin was the first to question.

"Gowther, is it true?" He nodded lightly.

"Yes, I used my magic to erase his memories, you may check if you want." He admitted it with a cold and unexpressive voice, it gave me shivers.

Merlin narrowed her eyes before gesturing to Meliodas get closer, and then asking Gowther to hand her something. It was a pocket mirror. She used it to see his reflection, and when she saw it, Merlin's aura darkened.

"I knew something was wrong with him, so it was this...Gowther used his magic to block his memories, as well as block my magic while checking if he was okay."

I glanced at the mirror, and saw a purple aura around Meliodas' reflection. And it wasn't a weak magic. I could feel Gowther's immense magic power by just looking at the mirror.

"Why? Why you did this Gowther?" Diane asked, her eye peeking inside. As opposed of Gowther's magic, the violet in her eyes were soft and gentle, it was comforting.

"I wanted to test something you said to me."

"Me?" She repeated, pointing to herself. Gowther slowly nodded.

"You said to me love cannot be controlled, that emotions cannot be controlled, they cannot be molded into something, and I proved you wrong."

"You did?" King asked, obviously not amused. Well, his 'girlfriend' was getting insulted here.

"Of course. Meliodas had a romantic interest for Elizabeth, as well as she for him. Perfect match here, but then, if feeling cannot be controlled, why is he in love with [Y/N] now?" He pointed at me. My blood's running cold now.

"He had accelerated heartbeats whenever he sees her, his pulse becomes irregular, and he blushes and— sometimes— stutters." He now was pointing to Meliodas. He was right; the man was red like a tomato.

"So my conclusion is—yes, feeling can be changed. There's nothing like 'we're destined to be in love', I just had to erase his memory and put him around [Y/N] and the magic is done."

I was trying to find words, holding myself to punch him. He was playing with my and Meliodas' feelings, just who he think he is? Meliodas is destined to Elizabeth, it isn't only fate— it's a curse. A curse due to his past actions.

"[Y/N] deserves it, since Captain just left her alone in the past, because he had someone more important to care, right?"

That was the last straw.

I rushed to him, slapping Gowther with all force I could manage, and then fled to my room. I could hear the others calling my name; I could hear King taking revenge for me.

But I couldn't hear his voice.

"Oh, there you are!"

I heard a voice...so familiar. Where did I hear it before? It passed so much time...since the last time I heard a voice. Alone in this cold forest, the only sound I hear is from nature itself. The water, the wind, maybe some small animals...

Wait, I heard a voice right?

And other sound...pit pat...pit pat

It was raining.

"Look at you...you look horrible."

I turned, and there he was; a boy, drenched in rain water. His hair was a blond mess, and he...wasn't shivering? I'm pretty sure the rain's cold as hell, I'm shivering.

The boy was smiling, a nice and warm smile. I know him...I just couldn't remember his name. It has something with Meli...Meliona? Meliko? Meliodafu?

He was getting closer. Now I noticed it, he was holding a coat. It was for me? Why he doesn't use it? He's without a coat...he'll get a cold. I don't want someone young like him with a cold, medicine isn't advanced yet...to take care of him...or it is?

The coat was placed on me, covering my shoulders and giving me warmth...and this smell, I know this smell....

And this voice....and this smile.....

....Meliodas?

I was lying on my bed, in the second floor, crying. Yeah, lying in bed and crying, what an amazing thing to do isn't it? Just letting the tears flow, like a river. But then there's violent hiccups erupting from your throat, and then the magic's over.

Damn it, why I'm like this? What does this affect me? I thought I already surpassed it. Meliodas have feelings for me? Yeah, it had to be a trick and it was. We were just puppets on Gowther's hands. Just marionettes he could control and—

Another loud hiccup came out, and I tightened my grip around my pillow.

I hope nobody is listening to me.

And just when that thought crossed my head, I hear the door cracking open. Great, probably is Gowhter, being forced by Merlin to apologize. I slowly lift my head and glare at the door with a scowl. When he enters I'll certify he never—

It wasn't Gowther.

It wasn't nothing I was expecting either. My narrowed eyes widened as I stared at person right before me.

Meliodas was there, holding an enormous flower bouquet. The poor man was trying to show his face in middle of so many flowers. It was cute watching him struggle, but I decided that was enough and kindly took the bouquet from his hands.

"Thank you" I said, glancing at the flowers. They smelled so good...He's smiling, but it was a small and shy smile, not his usual bright one.

"I was guarding them for today...I planned to confess...but hey, Gowther ruined the party." He was trying to light up the situation and cheer me up, but I knew better. His flowers aren't for confession anymore.

"...We're passing for trouble, aren't we? That man, Gowther, had my memories, and if I want to win the battle, I should get them back..."

I knew the effects, Merlin told me when I started his treatment, just in case: if he manages to get his memories back, there was a strong chance he would forget everything about his time with amnesia. That means, his moments with me.

The times he was kind with me, the times he loved me, the times when there was no one but I and him.

The New Old Times.

My legs became week, and then I was on my knees, tears coming back. The beautiful bouquet placed on my lap, the sweet smell intoxicated me.

He walked towards me and hugged me. The smell of ale and fennel comforted me as he buried my head in his shoulder. His light-green vest acted like a pillow.

"I'm sorry for whatever thing I've done to hurt you." He cried. "I'm so sorry that I'll have to let you alone again."

I understand. I closed my eyes, leaning in and hugging him back.

It was my last chance on doing so.

.....

More than 5000 words, I'm done XP

Are you crying? Do you want a handkerchief? There *summons a handkerchief*

The scene with Meliodas and the paper lanterns was inspired in the scene with Flynn Rider and Rapunzel in Tangled. I was listening to Hikaru Midorikawa and Takahiro Sakurai Japanese cover of the song on Youtube. And I thought "I have to put a reference!"

Koe no Oujisama is wonderful. Disney songs sung by japanese voice actors? Awesome idea!

And Meliodas' personality when he was with amnesia was inspired by his oneshot version. I honestly loved the shy and cute Meliodas!

Well, that's it for today, see you in another one-shot!
