Three years and seven days later.....

Andrew packs up the family car and is sure to get everyone's belongings stuffed into the hatchback. Eva his wife gets their Twelve- and Thirteen-year-old into the vehicle. As restless as everyone is, this will be the first family vacation in many years. Leaving their newly purchased home in Connors Island City (CIC), Jenaya and Sonny wave bye to their friend Parker Jonas.

Their house used to be the home of the Maxwell family until the entire family moved after their son was tortured by the crowbar killer.

A man enters the home from the back sliding doors to the master suite balcony. A ball cap covers his face, a letter jacket in now pristine condition stands out in the darkness of Andrew & Eva's bedroom. The man looks at pictures of the happy family on their vanity. Quickly realizing this isn't the family he is looking for. The man looks in the mirror and sees his burnt face with only his blue eyes remaining. He has a flood of thoughts of the night he nearly died thanks to Steve Maxwell.

(flashback) 'Steve gets up to leave the garbage compacting room where he delivered the killer his final fate. In slow motion action as though watching a reel implode of stillness the compactor doors pry open. A crowbar in hand the long haired greasy skater kid leaps from the machine and Skewers Steve's chest! He raises Steve up in the air and thrusts his body into the air and into the compactor. Amada picks up his chain, attaches his wallet and re attaches his ball cap. He takes a moment to touch the emblem, and wipes blood off the tongue (emblem is a tongue). He begins to leave until the room is devoured in the ever-raging fire. Trapping him once again!'

Thinking this family knows of the whereabouts of Steve, he searches their house. The home reminds him of his own growing up. Lots of praise for the daughter all around, as she was an avid swimmer and held many awards. The son seemed to lack energy or excitement, Sonny was his name. Jenaya the princess had a fairy tale room, with a princess bed and everything pink. Sonny's room held no pictures on the walls and very little toys. Mother Eva, it seems was an opera singer and their were many magazines and play bills around the home to view. Andrew Barley the head of the family wasn't so put together himself. Failed jobs from the looks of it with many different applications ready to be sent on the kitchen table.

Derek comes along the itinerary of the family's destination- Casper Cove's Cloud Cuckoo Land Hotel. Looks like this is also the place where Andrew will take up a job for the spring/summer season. Derek opens the welcoming package of the Hotel. 

An old water plant renovated to become the third Islands best tourist destination of all the Islands surrounding CCC. A forty-six-foot structure converted into a themed hotel hence the name Cuckoo Land. Ten varieties to choose from of the make your stay your way of imagination! He continues to look at all the amenities the place has to offer as though mildly entertained that his former hospital hell was also in Casper Cove. It is then when he see's a picture of the staff, a picture of Steve as Ranger Steve the hotels destination captain!

Derek slams down the pamphlet, and realizes he knows where he needs to go to get Steve!

Andrew stops at the side road gas station to pick up snacks and such while the family waits in the car. Sonny gets out of the car to pee in the bush alongside the gravel. He decides to walk a little into the brush as he spots something of interest. A broken down stick bandaged together with duct tape attaching itself to the fractured skull of what could be a jack rabbit. Pointy teeth sharp as knives, a club devised of animal bone and human sweat. A smile comes across Sonny's face as he quickly hides it under his shirt and heads back to the car.

Andrew walks the aisles of the store almost as though he is bored with this life he is on. Thinking of the consistent let downs he has delivered to his family. His wife taking care of everything, his daughter being such a bright success at only the age of twelve. Sonny, his secret pride and joy because he was simply just an odd young boy. Sonny doesn't smile or like much, but his intelligence is quick. He picks up some treat bags for Sonny and bottled water for the women. He continues to the counter where he purchases cigarettes and a bottle of Johnny Walker.

As he heads to the car, he notices a man in a ball cap staring at him from a large Semi in a distance. Andrew waves, with no reply. Hands out his purchases all the while hiding his bottle in his jacket. February but still cold on the Island. Sonny looks at his treat bag and smiles to his watching father in the rearview mirror. As they begin to drive away, Sonny notices the man out of the back window. He waves to him as well, this time the man waves back.
