Black Lives Matter? All Lives Matter
Under the almight African sun, where light weaves her shiny tales,
A cry rises.
Ancient.
Raw.
"Black lives matter!"
In the marketplace of humanity, voices clash and blend,
"All lives matter,"
They chant,
Completely forgetting the wounds yet to mend.
From the cradle of civilization,
Where history's deep running roots is rocked,
The struggle for dignity becomes a promise yet to keep.
In the silence of oppression,
Pain speaks in whispers,
Tales and stories of chains and liberation,
Engraved in the skin, not forgotten.
Unity is the dream,
A canvas of diverse hues,
But each thread, must be honored,
For the fabric to be true.
Eyes that see only the whole,
Miss the beauty of each part,
Every precious life a vital note, in the ears of the heart.
Equality is not a blanket,
But a quilt of many patches,
Each life a piece,
Each person a world and
Each struggle unique,
In the quest for justice that matches.
So, under the wide arms of the Buffalothorn tree,
Let the dialogue begin,
Let acknowledge the scars,
And heal the wounds
Let love win.
