Gold and Blue
"Aaaaaaaand TOUCHDOWN!!" Bombman exclaimed as he threw the soccer ball onto the ground. He was teamed up with Cutman and Iceman, while Rock's team had Roll and Fireman.
"Bombman wait, that's not how you play at all!" Rock's sister huffed, her circuits slightly hot from the play.
"What do you mean? This is football we are playing, right?" Bomb was confused, Cut not understanding the accusation.
"We're playing soccer dude. That's completely different." Rock explained.
"What's the difference, mega bro?"
"Mega?" Rock thought about the weird name before shaking his head, "Football has different rules compared to soccer. I can show you how to play, but we have to skip this game." There were some collective groans and heavy breathing. The early summer sun was beating down on their metal skin, warming the already hot circuits inside.
"But some of us are baking out here Rock." Ice groaned.
"Well then, I'll go prepare the game near the city's soccer field once you guys are done. Is that okay with everyone?" Rock rolled his eyes when everyone nodded. Leaving the yard, he packed the soccer ball and a couple ribbons into his backpack. "Roll, tell dad I'm going down to the soccer field!!"
As he went down the hill, there was a shattering of glass along with a couple of screams and an angry brother. The trip to the soccer field was short, Rock had made plenty of trips here before. Soccer was one of his favorite games to play, but didn't play in any teams until they had new brothers. Other times, he would watch soccer tournaments with Dr. Light late.
The field was empty and neat aside from a couple of kids playing. Getting out the ribbon, Rock wrapped it around his neck, having a yellow handkerchief in a bow. He walked out to the field with the soccer ball, approaching the young boys. They looked at him with curious looks.
"Hey, what's up?" One of them asked.
"I wanted to join in, my family will be arriving shortly. Could I have a game?" Rock replied politely. Two of the kids smiled and nodded, offering a handshake to the little robot.
"Of course! What's your name and what team do you want?"
"I'm Rock, and I'll take-" Suddenly, the oldest kid grabbed the other's shoulder and violently pulled him away. He then pulled the second kid away from Rock and took a step back.
"Rico, what the hell?"
"Don't let this thing play, he's a robot. Can't you tell?" The leader kid pointed at the confused Rock. The other kids seem to share that feeling and continued to stare at Rico.
"Yeah, what about it? He asked us if we wanted to join him, what difference does it make? We could use an extra member."
"Did you idiots forget the attack with the robot masters a few days back? Doctor Wily hasn't been caught yet, this might be a robot of his. My parents said it was possible." Rico glared at the two kids.
"Dude, really? You have got to stop it with the paranoia." The tallest kid slapped his head.
"Whatever! I'm not playing with someone I can't trust." Rico huffed.
"Speak for yourself."
"You guys want a fight!?"
The kids started to snap back at Rico, Rock wondering if he should leave and come back later. However, he noticed someone else walking onto the field. He looked a little taller than Rock, with pale yellow hair and striking green eyes. And from looking at him a little more, Rock soon realized this was a robot as well. But he thought his family were the only robot masters in Monsteropolis. The robot almost practically touched Rico's back before leaning in and spoke up.
"If you're done complaining, why don't you move your butt off the field? I can hear your complaining for miles." Rock overheard his voice, this robot was programmed to be a young teenager judging by the tone.
Rico turned around with his face beet red. The two locked eyes with each other, and it was clear the kid was not happy being ordered by the random robot. The robot, however, showed no emotion or remotely a hint of being intimidated.
"What did you say to me?" Rico growled under his breath, trying his best to put on a 'bully' voice. The two humans were either rolling their eyes or slapping their faces. Rock continue to just stare at the robot curiously.
"Your mouth continues to throw empty threats, you're not fooling anyone. You're certainly not fooling me. Your friends are telling you to get out of here." The robot continued to speak in a monotone voice.
"You stay out of this. Go back where you came from and leave us to our business!!" With that statement, the robot tilted his head to the side before smiling.
"You're telling me what to do?"
"Yes, I a-"
*WHACK!!*
Rock and the two kids stared in shock as Rico fell hard to the ground. The robot hovered above him, shaking his fist around while continuing to stare at the whimpering kid. Seconds later, one of the kids stared at the robot with his mouth covered to hide his smirk.
"I don't like being ordered around." The robot murmured.
Rock whispered in a weak voice to no one in particular. "A robot...punched a human?"
That should be impossible. Every robot master that is created is supposed to have the 3 Laws of robotics into their programming. The law that a robot is to not let a human be harmed, to obey a human's command as long as it doesn't disrupt the first law, and a robot can preserve it's life as long as it doesn't disrupt the other two laws. And yet this robot directly punched a human.
"OW! Y-You hit me!" Rico whimpered slightly.
"This is really embarrassing..." One of the kid's murmured.
"And here you were talking smack earlier about how you were so tough," the robot kneeled to him, "Just leave before I deliver a harder one."
After stumbling up and staring at Rock with a red cheek, Rico ran off the field in a hurried fashion. The robot sighed as his eyes fell on Rock. "Why are you staring at me? Am I bleeding or something?" He asked confused.
Rock blinked and shook his head, not realizing he was staring at the robot the entire time. The short kid smiled and walked up to the pale haired robot.
"Dude, you didn't have to do that. I get Rico's a jerk, but wasn't that a bit overboard?" The first kid said. The tall kid brushed his hair aside as he bent to Rock's knee level.
"I mean, not like the guy didn't deserved it." He murmured.
"Wasn't he your friend? You're acting relaxed for seeing someone getting punched in the face." By another robot no less, Rock thought.
"He's not our friend." The tall guy casually stated before standing up. Afterwards, the two finally shook their hands like they were doing before. "Anyways, I'm Drake and he's Jacob. Sorry about this whole ordeal. But if you want, we can still play that game." The tall kid known as Drake smiled with a hint of embarrassment. Rock immediately perked up.
"That would be awesome!!"
"However, we still need one person. Hey blonde guy, do you want to join in?" The blonde robot gave a look of irritation as he looked away.
"No."
Rock felt more curious with Enker every passing minute. He really wanted to know more about him, so he walked over to him with his hand out. "I can teach you how to play if you don't know. Please?"
The yellow robot locked eyes with Rock for a while, slowly shaking his hand before saying, "Enker, the name's Enker."
"I'll take that as a yes!" Rock smiled before taking out another ribbon, wrapping into a cute little knot on the confused Enker. "Got my team! I'll explain while we play."
"Fine?"
"Alright, let's get started!!" Drake announced.

Dr. Wily woke up with a annoying ringing in his ears and painful headache, his lab coat all dirty hanging on the wall. The smoking Wily capsule was outside his home clearly damaged from his failed takeover.
However, he wasn't going to be humiliated so easily! He was going to prove to the world that he was truly a great scientist! After cleaned up the place as well as new clothes, Dr. Wily went to his lab to prepare his new creations. Ready to help assist him in taking over....wait.... The doctor stopped upon looking at the empty table.
"Where did you go? My robot?" He whispered in a partial panic. Where was his robot, the creation he spent a long time making? Suddenly, he stopped as he took a breath to stop going to a panic attack.
"He probably finished booting up while I was making my brilliant ruined plan. He's probably exploring the castle, yeah that's what he's definitely doing. I'll be sure to check on him soon. But first..." Wily grinned laying out blueprints, scribbling madly on them.
"To plan my revenge on you and your precious city, Thomas!! As well as you, little blue brat!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Thanks a lot fellas! That was a awesome game, never knew robots could be a good team to rival!" Drake laughed, sweating from the intense games that took place. Jacob was laying on the grass panting heavily, gazing up at Rock.
"Are you...sure your wires aren't crossed or something? Your own teammate kicked the ball...hard into you." He wheezed.
"It didn't hurt a lot, plus I don't think he intended on actually hurting me. Right?" Rock looked over to Enker's direction, who simply rolled his eyes.
"You said we are to pass the ball to each other. You didn't specify we had to pass to our feet." He grumbled.
"Oh it's alright! You're new anyway, so I can let it pass. You guys up for another round?" Jacob and Drake shook their heads in a slumped fashion.
"Sorry Rock, but we actually have to get going. Dad will kill us for staying out. Maybe next time, and get your strength figured out Enker!" Both of them waved goodbye, running out of the field while Rock watched. As soon as they were nothing but blurs, he turned around only to see Enker walking away from him. His core skipping, he ran faster in order to catch up to him.
"Wait Enker!! I want to ask you something!" The robot didn't respond, continuing to walk. Only when Rock managed to trip and bumping his side did he look. He felt something in his core upon realizing the little robot bothered to follow him.
"Yes?" He simply said.
"Where do you come from?" The two casually walked side by side as humans starting coming through to play games themselves.
"Why do you ask?"
"Because until now me, my sister, and my new siblings have been the only robot masters in Monsteropolis. We have the little Metools and occasional robots, but no one like us in the city. Where do you come from?" Rock eyed him intensely, while the tall buildings of Monsteropolis were becoming distant and replaced by trees.
"I came from a table."
Rock's face was blank before he chuckled by the blunt joke. "Haha, well yes. All of us come from tables, I mean where do you live? You're creator's house, where is it?"
"I don't know my creator. I woke up in this strange place like a castle on the other side of the mountains. I believe that's where he lives, but I didn't get to meet them because I left." He sighed.
"You left without your creator knowing?!" Rock gasped.
"You sure love questions, don't you?" Enker stated, his walking becoming very slow as they continued walking through the trees, the birds chatting above their heads. Enker was admiring the scene, noting its peaceful nature in contrast to that loud soccer game. And yet why did he continue to play with Rock, even if he didn't care for it? Why was he even talking to him anyway? Was he curious about him? He didn't seem to be bothered by his company, even if the constant questions were being a slight pain.
"Sorry," Rock gazed down, "It's just you're creator must be so worried about you. I know Dr. Light would..." Suddenly, Rock gasped and startled Enker to almost punching him in reflex. "I left the field, but not toward home! Everyone's going to be worried, I have to get back!"
"So, I suppose this is where we go separate ways?" Enker stopped, watching Rock's little panic dance.
"Yeah, but I guess we'll bump into each other again since you came from the mountains. Are you sure you have enough energy back?"
"Yes."
"You're moving slowly."
"And?"
"That's low energy. Have you even eaten?" Rock lowered his eyes.
"And what was I supposed to eat, huh? I already tried motor oil, but I got a reflex from that. I'm only 5 days old kid." From hearing the second sentence, Rock gagged and almost wanted to barf himself.
"You DRANK MOTOR OIL? That's disgusting!! Here, have an actual good drink." Pulling out the E-Tanks, Rock watched as Enker drank almost both cans at once. From his looks, he didn't enjoy it a lot, but if this was to help him get back home, he'll gladly gather energy from the mediocre drinks. Rock couldn't wait to tell Dr. Light about this!!
"Gross, but thanks...See you later." Enker nodded before continuing a few steps, once again stopping to look at the little robot. "Who are you again?"
"Rock."
"Rock." Enker murmured before continuing on into the trees. Rock smiled before skipping down the path toward his house.
Every few minutes, he would look to see the mountains in the distance and thinking back to Enker. He really was a odd robot, cold to everyone but he did have a less tense tone when talking to Rock. Perhaps he was curious to talking with another robot master like him. As he continued on the trail toward Light's house, the more it made sense about Enker's behavior to humans.
A robot master, while having intelligence very similar to humans and capable to make decisions, are completely blank without emotions for several moments. It is only when communicating with humans and other advanced robot masters can they decide a personality for themselves, their core expression. But if Enker has been alone for several days with no real communication, no wonder he was so cold to the guys down by the soccer field. Whether it was his personality or simply awkwardness, Rock couldn't determine it. But what he could determine was Rico's dumb fake toughness certainly didn't make Enker feel more welcome.
"I want to talk to him again." Rock concluded to himself. As he entered through Dr. Light's gate, he was confronted by a tired Bombman fixing several broken windows, a cracked door, and Iceman laying some plaster on bricks. Elecman was rubbing his mask in a irritated fashion.
"Come on, before Dr. Light comes out here and sees what happens when his own creations get clumsy." He stated.
"We're sorry, alright!? Jeez..." Bomb murmured sadly.
"Elec sir, I am done. Can I go n-oh hi Rock!!" Ice chippered up upon seeing their brother come home. Elec rubbed Rock's head affectionately as they looked at the damage.
"What...happened here?"
"Well we found out what happens when a couple of over excited roboboys forget soccer balls rebound and can hit and break stuff." Elec sighed, but Ice giggled a little.
"Bomb kicked the ball too hard and hit Elec in the-"
"ICE!!" Both Bomb and Elec exclaimed, preventing Rock from hearing the rest of the story. Deciding not to listen to the argument pursuing, he rushed inside the house to find Dr. Light as quickly as possible. He managed to accidently run into Roll, but he simply helped her get back up with an apology. Rock almost created skid marks as he saw Dr. Light watching tv.
"Oh my, Rock! Are you alright, you're eyes are practically glowing. Did something happen?" His father smiled, which grew wider as Rock took a seat while hopping.
"Dr. Light, I met another robot. But a robot master, another one like us in the city!"
"Really? Wh-What is he like? Did you ask where he came from?"
"Well, he didn't seem to social at first, and his name is Enker. He had pale hair and sharp green eyes! I actually didn't notice he was a robot until..."
Before long, Rock had told the entire hangout between him and Enker for hours. Dr. Light at some point grabbed a notebook and took notes about this robot. The nice doctor started to grow interested in meeting the creator of Enker himself, particularly how he could harm humans without any interference of the laws.
Rock had fallen asleep soon after, his head leaning back on the couch arm. Light had the thought of waking Rock up to go to his room, but after how peaceful he looked, he decided to let it be. He grabbed a blanket and laid out on top of his son's sleeping form, silently telling the others to quiet down and left the room in silence.
