'Allo governors and welcome to something that is brand new on my account. A while back (a few months ago), I received a message from FlashPhoinex asking if I wanted to do a side story for his Mega Academy series. I agreed to do it and this is Red's Journey side story. I will be adding a few characters of my own and I hope you all enjoy. Also, I am sorry Phoenix for uploading this late and I've still yet to get my cover Minun.

Red's P.O.V

Man, tomorrow is when my journey will begin and I can't wait. Oh, how rude of me, let me introduce myself. My name is Red Ketchum and I will be leaving home to start my journey. Most people like my brother Ash goes on a journey to face the league but me, I want to travel to find strong trainers. I've seen the Pokémon that Professor Oak has shown on TV and I really like Charmander. Ash is into Squirtle but his journey doesn't start in a month so he'll have to wait and see.

"Well Red, good luck on your journey" Ash informed.

"Thanks bro, hope you win the league once you go on your journey" I exclaimed.

"I hope so too" Ash replied.

"Boys, go to sleep, you need to wake up early to get your Pokémon" My mom called out.

"Don't worry, we will" I replied getting in bed. Ash and I went to sleep excited for tomorrow.

The Next Day

As soon as I woke up, I swiftly ran into the bathroom and got ready to go to Professor Oak's laboratory. I showered and changed into my red jacket, hat and blue jeans. I waved my mom and brother and ran all the way to the lab where I'll begin my journey. When I walked in, Professor Oak was there standing with three Pokéballs.

"Ah, good morning Red, came to get your Pokémon?" Oak asked.

"I sure am" I replied with my fist up.

"Ok then, your choices are Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur" Oak explained, "Who would you like?"

"I choose Charmander" I said pointing at the fire lizard.

Charmander hopped into my arms and became my partner. I was given a Pokédex and Pokéballs and I left to start my journey. First stop was Viridian City, hopefully I will find some amazing Pokémon that are strong. While walking through the forest, I heard some faint screams and birds screaming. I ran to the scene to find a Pikachu being attacked by a flock of Spearow. I quickly shooed them off and picked up Pikachu.

"Are you alright?" I asked.

The Pikachu nodded but then I heard squawking and I turned to see what looked like an army of Spearows charging at me. Without hesitation, I ran as quickly as I could and just my luck it started to storm. I should've looked where I was going because instantly, I tripped over a rock and fell dropping Pikachu in the process. The Spearows started getting closer so I stood in front of Pikachu to protect him.

"Don't worry Pikachu, I'll protect you" I screamed.

No P.O.V

The army of Spearows were nearing Red and he felt like he was done for. Suddenly, Pikachu jumped in front of him with a charged Thundershock and a lightning bolt struck him. This caused Pikachu to gain 10 billion watts of power making his attack powerful. The Thundershock blasted causing many Spearows to get knocked out (and possibly fried) while the rest fled. This however knocked out Red and made him unconscious. After Pikachu saved Red, a figure walked up to them and carried Red with Pikachu following him. Who is this mysterious person?
