Red's P.O.V

I've been catching a lot of Pokémon lately and I couldn't carry all of them so I had to store them in the storage system. I got a Bulbasaur which is now an Ivysaur and a Squirtle. My Charmeleon has already evolved into a Charizard and my Eevee evolved into an Espeon. I never really see that kind of Pokémon that much since it's more native to Johto. As Andrew and I were walking towards Celadon City, I encountered a Snorlax sleeping and blocking the pathway.

"How are we going to get past him?" I asked.

"We should try to wake it up" Andrew suggested.

"How do you suppose we do so?" I questioned.

"Well" Andrew exclaimed.

No P.O.V

Red and Andrew came back from the nearest store and bought some ingredients for cooking. They started cooking up a stew with a strong smell and did it near Snorlax. This had no effect whatsoever so Andrew used his high powered alarm clock. When it started ringing, Snorlax didn't wake up but a flock of Pidgeys started attacking them. Finally, they tried using their Pokémon and started attacking it. This didn't work at all.

"How can we wake this thing up?" Red exclaimed.

"I know what you need there youngster" A voice called out.

The two turned to see an old man walking towards them. He had very baggy and brown clothing on and he was holding a cane. His hair was all white and had a huge beard that went down to his knees. He looked like he was 70 due to how slow he was walking.

"What is it that we need?" Andrew asked.

"You need a Pokeflute, those things can wake up anything" The old man answered.

"How are we going to get one though?" Red questioned.

"There is a contest happening in Lavender Town and first prize is a Pokeflute" The old man explained.

"Thank you sir, we'll be going now" Andrew thanked.

The two ran off to Lavender Town where they saw a race set up. They went to the information desk and the lady explained to them that it was the annual Lavender race. Each participant has to use all six of their Pokémon in a series of six obstacle races. Both Andrew and Red joined making their win for the Pokeflute have a higher chance. There were so many participants so this will be interesting.

"WELCOME TO THE ANNUAL LAVENDER RACE!!!" The first announcer yelled getting many cheers, "This race will go south, then east, then north and then back here"

"First will be a land riding race, then a puzzle race, then a flying race, then a surfing race, then a jumping race and finally, a race where you must carry some items and not drop them" The second announcer explained.

"Time to start, on your marks, get set, GO!" The first announcer announced and everyone was on their way.

In the land race, Andrew was riding on Voltic (Luxray) while Red was riding on his Ivysaur. There was a lot of mud that they had to tread through and some people got stuck. Once they finished the first part, it was onto the puzzle race. Andrew used Lucario while Red used Espeon. After going through all the tough puzzles, it was onto the flying race. Andrew hopped onto Skystrike (Staraptor) while Red hopped onto his Pidgeot and the two flew super-fast. Upon arriving, they returned their birds and sent out their surfing Pokémon, Tidal (Swampert) and Lapras. They surfed their way to the next race, jumping race. Red wanted to use Pikachu last so he had to use Squirtle while Andrew used Feint (Umbreon). This was where Red was struggling.

"C'mon Squirtle" Red cried.

"Squirtle Squirt" Squirtle exclaimed.

Just then, Squirtle was enveloped in a blue light and started changing form. It evolved into a Wartortle and was able to jump a lot better than before. This led Red to catch up and go onto the last part. Every racer was given a tray of items and everyone started racing to the finish. Andrew only had Newcastle to use but for a Nidoking, he was very fast. Red and Andrew were closing to the finish line and both made it. The footage was being checked and it revealed that the two finished at the same time making them both first place.

"We have a winner, Red Ketchum and Andrew Turing" The first announcer announced.

"Here's your prize, a Pokeflute" The second announcer exclaimed.

Andrew and Red were given the Pokeflute and the two ran back to where the Snorlax was. Red grabbed the flute and started playing it, only it was bad. Andrew was covering his ears due to his bad playing and the Snorlax woke up. This made Red happy until he saw how angry Snorlax was and he was being chased by it. This led him to drop the flute and Andrew grabbed it and started to play it. His playing was a lot better with mellowed the Snorlax which gave Red the chance to throw a Pokeball. The Pokeball took Snorlax in and shook three times before clicking.

"Awesome, I caught a Snorlax" Red cried.

"Yeah, but you have 6 Pokémon already so you have to drop one off" Andrew pointed out.

"Oh yeah, I'll put away Pidgeot, I already have a flying type and he's very strong so he doesn't need that much training" Red stated.

He rushed to the nearest Pokémon Centre and put Pidgeot away in the PC. Red and Andrew then set off back to their journey wondering what is to come.

Just a quick notice, I noticed that Red had a total of 8 Pokémon so I decided on that Red will only use his Lapras when it needs to. This means transportation or battling strong trainers. This won't be like Ash's Lapras, it will have more battling time than Ash's in the anime. But anyways, cheerio everyone.
