23. Old Style, New Lenses, Leaving...?
*Hello my fellow pies! I hope you enjoyed that last chapter! I know you guys all had a fit at that last paragraph but hey, it is what it is. I do hope you enjoy this chapter as well-- then again you might hate me*
// Dean's POV
"I already told you where we were!" Dean tried reasoning.
When he woke up, John kept asking where they had went. He totally forgot what Dean had told him. He forgot Cas and Gabriel walking inside to say bye.
"Oh right. You were at some fair with a bunch of dudes. You make me sick." He spat.
Sam had ran back into his room a while ago.
"Okay it was with a friend and his younger brother I-- "
"And so you took Sam as well?" He yelled.
Why was he even acting like this? Like he cared about Sam. Dean knew when Sam was older, he would receive the same punishments as he did, and he couldn't let that happen.
"You know what? Forget it. I'm not doing this." He said grabbing his keys and walking out of the house, slamming the door behind him.
Dean groaned and walked into his room. He pulled out a box from his closet. Quickly opening it, he pulled out his leather jacket and the necklace his brother had given him.
He quickly stripped of his nerdy clothes and slipped on a flannel shirt, jeans, the jacket, combat boots and the amulet.
He looked in the mirror.
This was what he used to look like. Of course, without the glasses.
He would have to tell everything to Cas...explain it all...and maybe, just maybe Cas would still have him.
"Dean...?" A small voice whispered. Dean turned around and faced his younger brother.
"Why are you dressed in your normal clothes?"
"Well since dad found us, there's no point in dressing like a nerd anymore right?" He explained.
Sam slowly nodded and sat on Dean's bed, eyeing the small teddy bear Cas had given Dean.
"I miss Gabe." He sighed.
Dean smiled and sat next to him.
"He'll be back in three days Sammy."
"Do you miss Cas?"
Dean blushed at the sudden question. He looked over at the teddy bear and brought it in his arms.
"I mean we saw him yesterday Sa-- "
"I know we did you idjit, but do you miss him? Or do you think you'll miss him?" He sassy five year old asked.
"Well-- yea but-- "
"So you love him?" Sam interrupted.
Dean blushed darkly and looked at his brother in shock.
"Why would you ask that?"
Sam laughed got up to walk away.
"Like I said before Dean, pretty obvious." He smirked before walking away.
Dean blushed darkly and shook his head.
Was it really that obvious that he had feeling for Cas?
He never thought it would come to this. But it has.
Dean Winchester was in love with Castiel Novak.
+++++
Dean woke up the next morning and got up for school.
"Sammy! Get up!" He yelled and wandered towards the bathroom for a shower.
After the steamy shower you guys wished you had with him and changing, Dean wandered into the kitchen to prepare breakfast.
Sam was already waiting at the table.
"You're wearing that to school?" Sam asked, looking at Dean who was wearing his usual not nerdy clothes, throwing an extra beanie on-- it looked good.
"Yep. Figured I should just tell everyone."
After breakfast, the both brushed their teeth and headed towards the Impala. Their dad's car wasn't in the driveway so that was a relief.
Dean drove Sam to his school and walked inside with him.
"See ya Sammy." Dean smiled.
"Bye." Sam smiled and ran inside the classroom.
He wandered over to a boy with blonde hair and started talking to him. However a boy with black curls saw and stood closer to the blonde boy.
Meanwhile, Dean drove towards the high school.
He sighed and looked in the mirror before stepping out of the car.
As soon as he walked inside people began to stare. Okay this was awkward.
"Dean?!" A voice squealed.
Charlie ran up to him with a shocked smile.
"You look, wow!" He looked at him before whistling.
"Love the new style!"
Dean blushed and rubbed the back of his neck.
"It would look better if you weren't in the glasses though...which brings me to..." Charlie trailed off as she pulled a small rectangular box from her pocket.
"Are those...?"
"Yep. Contact lenses. For my favorite Deano!" She smiled widely and handed him the box.
"Thank you so much! But...how did you know how-- "
"Don't ask." She stated before pulling his glasses off.
Dean sat down at a random chair outside the office and began putting on his new lenses.
They were uncomfortable for a while before he finally adjusted to them. He put the box and the glasses in his pocket before hugging Charlie.
"You know what? Keep the glasses on for today. That beanie makes you look awesome." She laughed.
Dean chuckled and wandered over to his class, taking her advice and replacing the lenses with the glasses, he'd wear the contacts another day.
Everyone stared at him in shock, a few people whispering, and girls eyeing him, even Lisa.
This actually felt like the first day at school when they would move around a lot.
He sat down in his regular seat and ignored everyone, until someone tapped his shoulder moments later.
"Excuse me." The small but confident voice spoke.
Dean turned around and faced a girl with brown wavy hair and blue eyes.
"Yes?" He asked. He had never seen her before. Well maybe he had...but he never acknowledged her much. He spent most of his time staring at Cas-- wait you didn't read that.
"Sorry. I was only wondering if you knew where Castiel was..." She asked.
Dean slowly shook his head.
"He's out of town...but he'll be back...why?"
"I-- I just wanted to ask him something." She said quietly, a blush creeping up on her cheeks. "My name's Hannah."
"Dean." He said smiling before turning back around.
He had a feeling this girl had a crush on his man-- wait what?!
What was wrong with him today?! It's as if now that Cas is gone his feelings are just spitting out everywhere.
He shook his head to disperse of the thoughts as their teacher walked in.
"Morning everyone-- Winchester take the beanie off." He glared.
Dean groaned and yanked it off his head. There was the sound of breath hitching throughout the room, his hair had gotten messy-- it looked like how Cas' hair usually looked-- you know the amazing sex hair you all want to run your fingers through.
Dean smirked to himself and stuck the beanie in his pocket.
+++++
The entire day had been weird so far. A bunch of people wanted to talk to him and girls were getting more flirty.
Of course Dean would've made out with them in a heartbeat but his heart longed for Castiel Novak. God, that was cheesy.
During his sixth class of the day, something horrible happened.
"Dean Winchester, you're asked to be seen at the front of the office." The teacher read a note that was just given to him.
Dean slowly stood up and wandered over to the office, the beanie on his head again.
He took his time, looking around the school and at places where he and Cas had spoken and gotten closer to one another.
When he finally reached the destination, he wished he could just run back. Run far away.
John Winchester was waiting for him, making the room smell like beer and smoke.
The office people had argued with him about letting Dean go with his father in this state but they were too intimidated to actually try and win the argument.
"Come on boy." He stated gruffly before grabbing Dean's arm and dragging him out of the office.
"Dean?" A voice asked. He turned just in time to see it was Charlie. He had enough time to mouth a quick 'bye' to her before being dragged out of the school.
"Let go of me!" He yelled, pulling away from his father.
"Get in the damn car."
"Why are you even-- " he was cut off when he saw Sam sitting in the back of the car.
"Sam!" Dean yelled as he ran into the backseat next to his brother.
Sam just sat there, clutching the small teddy bear against his chest. Dean wrapped his arms around him and waited.
John got into the car and turned on the engine. That's when Dean noticed a few bags in the passenger seat.
"Where are you going?" Dean asked.
"Oh not me. Us. All of us. We're moving. Rest of the bags are in the trunk." John smirked as he drove away.
"What?! You can't do that! We like it here!" Dean protested.
"Shut your tramp boy." John snarled and ignored him the rest of the ride.
This couldn't be happening.
Cas was gone.
Dean was leaving.
This just could not be happening.
They'd never see each other again...
