Juyeon considered herself strong. Mentally, at least.

But today, it felt like that strength was slipping.

Six hours earlier

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

The loud, obnoxious alarm seemed to echo through the room. "OH MY GOD, I'M AWAKE," Juyeon groaned, slamming her hand down on the clock in frustration.

She stumbled out of bed, her body still aching from the previous day's grueling training. After a yawn and a stretch, she trudged her way to the bathroom.

Another day, another eleven hours of training. Not that she minded—it was part of the job. They were debuting next month, after all. Every hour counted.

As she looked at herself in the bathroom mirror, her heart sank.

All she saw were dark circles, chubby cheeks, and a face she couldn't bring herself to call attractive. Ugliness. It stung every time she thought it, but it was the truth in her mind. If anyone made fun of her, it was for a reason.

She quickly showered and changed into something comfortable before heading to the kitchen, hoping to get a quick caffeine boost before the day started.

As usual, Chan was there, sipping his coffee like it was the only thing keeping him alive.

"Morning, Chan-ssi," Juyeon said, bowing slightly. She didn't mind the formality—it had become a habit.

"Morning, Juyeonnie," he replied with his signature smile, showing off those damn dimples that made him look even more gorgeous. He didn't seem tired, though Juyeon could feel her own exhaustion weighing down on her.

After exchanging a few casual words, Juyeon quickly finished her coffee and grabbed her things.

Another ten-minute walk to JYP.

But it wasn't a peaceful walk.

She was distracted, thinking about the day ahead, when a man bumped into her, causing her to drop her belongings.

"Fuck, can't you see where you're going? Stupid bitch," he spat, his words laced with venom.

Juyeon froze, her heart racing. She bent down quickly, trying to gather the bottles and bags he had dropped. As she handed them back to him, he looked her up and down, a smirk tugging at his lips.

"You could say sorry later tonight. I live a bit further from here. It's secluded. No one will hear anything."

Juyeon froze. Her breath hitched in her throat, and she quickly stood up, offering an awkward, fake smile. "I'm really sorry, sir, I have to go," she said before hurrying away.

She could feel his eyes boring into her back as she fled the scene. Her heart pounded in her chest, but she pushed the thoughts of that encounter to the back of her mind as she entered the JYP building. She had to focus.

But as soon as she entered the trainee rooms, she felt it. The energy in the room shifted. Her members' eyes were on her, and it was clear they noticed something was wrong.

In fact, she knew something was wrong .
