Second Slice
-MarineFord Arc
"Strawhat wearing kid." You grabbed the boy's attention as he turned his head seeing you standing not too far away, leaning on a plank of wood for support. "Were you the one who started this whole mess?"
"I wasn't supposed to be seen. Shishishi." The boy was crazy enough to think he could get through Impel Down without being noticed.
"They'll be sure to put a bounty on your head for that."
"I'm a pirate, though not for long. I'll be king of the pirates one day." The boy already had a bounty. He didn't seem to look the pirate role but the tone in which he spoke about his future dream, it yearned for the greatest adventure and freedom one could imagine.
"Your name?"
"You talk too much." The boy seemed not to be interested in speaking for a boring conversation.
"Well, mine is (Y/N), Straw hat wearing pirate."
"Luffy." He responded, conversation at the least getting somewhere even though he practically melted with boredom.
"Luffy, thanks to you I'm able to see the sky again." It was strange, before the sky never seemed to be of any interest, it was always there after all. In the dull colors of grey in the prison, the sky was missed greatly with its blue self.
"I'm here to save my brother, not you." He spoke his mind bluntly and sort of rudely yet it didn't come off as mean in the slightest, just honest, he went after his brother and wasn't planning on saving anyone else.
"I would help you fight for your brother but, well..." You hesitated for a second, not completely sure if you wanted to admit the current handicap even if it was obvious. "My leg isn't up for the challenge. I'm afraid..." Your eyes diverted themselves from the boy, as they looked longingly off into the waves of the sea.
"You need a doctor?" Luffy turned his head in a questioning manner. "Hey Iva can you heal her? She said she'd help fight." Luffy questioned a person with a giant purple afro and very revealing clothing.
"What is it now straw boy?"
"She says there's something wrong with her leg."
"Uhh yeah but it would take weeks..." You lifted up the pant leg on your incorrectly healed leg, revealing a small bump at a certain angle that shouldn't be there.
"I may be a miracle worker hun, but I can't make every miracle happen. She needs an actual doctor, hormones aren't going to save her." Iva spoke sadly, disappointed there was nothing to do for you right now.
"If I'm kept safe, I can fight even immobilized."
"Maybe you can hide with Inuzuma, I'm afraid he can't fight at the moment either. He's suffered a great deal in the fight at Impel Down alone."
The plan sounded amazing, hide and fight. It was a little weird, finding out that the hiding place was actually Ivankov's hair, also terrifying as you almost fell into an ocean of freezing water. You managed to help a little in the fight, even while Ivankov was dodging and fighting their own battle. Through the screaming, the shouts, the pain, the tears, the battle was fruitless. In the end the battle was lost by the pirates. Everything was failing yet, like those kind prisoners wanted, you stayed safe through it all, albeit in the weirdest way possible but safe.
"Your a new face. Are you one of Straw Boy's pals?" Ivankov spoke up, questioning a man who wore a white hat with brown spots, an interesting fashion sense.
"No. I can't say why I saved him, or it's complicated at least. Are you going to pressure me for the details?"
"No no. Let's just say your heart guided him to your side." Ivankov reassured the man, no more information was quite needed for something that a person can't quite explain.
"Iva, can I get out of your hair now?" You questioned, popping your head out of Ivankov's hair and scaring, or perhaps simply weirding everyone out.
"Yes, yes, but how will you manage to stand on your own?"
"Lay me down, the seagulls will probably enjoy another snack." You spoke, not really bothering with anything just happy to be away from it all.
"You wouldn't have enough kindness in your soul to save this girl, would you? Her leg is in an unbearable condition, I'm honestly surprised she's doing as well as she is."
"Look, I don't run a charity." The man from before spoke as shouts could be heard from inside the submarine. A man from earlier, named Jimbei, hobbled onto the deck groaning from pain and speaking of Luffy's condition from his own perspective of things.
Ivankov was now getting ready to leave, asking once more for the captain, Trafalgar Law, to help your condition.
"Fine, let me take a look at it." The doctor coldly responded as he went towards you on the floor, spread out like a starfish after Ivankov finally complied with your wishes. The doctor immediately knew what leg it was, likely from the little to no weight that was being put on it, and harshly pulled up on the sleeve of your pant leg.
"Definitely needs operating." Law grinned with amusement, smirking at the word operation and the terrifying look harboring your face. You looked up at Ivankov on the marine ship shouting goodbyes, to go back and serve as the queen, candies awaiting their queen's return.
"Your operation won't be as extensive as theirs but, it's an operation nonetheless." The sadistic doctor once again muttered for his awaiting fun.
