Incubating
Moon
For the next few days, Ratchet kept checking me constantly.
Always asking if I felt dizzy, mood swings, the whole nine yards.
I was starting to regret telling him before the others.
"Ratchet, my first appointment is tomarrow. I promise I'll be on time and give you all the details. Alright?" I say, kind of getting tired of the way he never left me alone.
He huffed. "Fine."
He walked away, and I sighed.
I was only one week in.
Moon angel pregnancies usually last 2 or 3 weeks, but since I'm the Alpha for some strange reason, my pregnancy will last 9 weeks.
Lucky me.
I have to deal with doctors, medicine, discomfort, and a whole bunch of people asking if they could touch my belly.
I didn't really care for the process of the baby growing, but I knew the outcome would be worth it.
Next day at the doctor's office
"Well, the progress of your pregnancy is going smoothly. Any discomfort or side effects yet?" My doctor asks, his electric blue wings and jet-black hair shining in the bright light above him.
The paper beneath me crinkles with every move I make.
I shake my head. "Not yet."
He nods. "Just let me know if you get any pains until your appointment next week."
I nod. "Alright. Thank you for squeezing me in."
He nods back, opening the door.
The paper shuffles beneath me as I stand.
I walk to the door, turning to my doctor.
"I know you will, but please tell no one. I would like it to be a surprise."
He nods. "Of course, Alpha Moon. My lips are sealed." He grins.
He hands me a clipboard of all the information of my appointment on it.
Ratchet wouldn't let me leave until I promised him he would have it.
I go to the front of the hospital, happy that the halls were finally filled.
I wasn't glad that angels were sick or injured or anything, I was glad that the doctors and nurses were doing what they loved to do.
I found Nightshade at the front, eating the front lawn contently while lying down.
He saw me, standing up and sniffing my hair.
Then he gently nuzzled my belly. I guessed he just smelled the baby.
"They're fine, bud. Doctor says they're growing healthy." I say, stroking his nose.
He snorts happily, his whiskers tickling my belly button.
Week 2
My belly hadn't grown much, but Arcee had become suspicious on why I wasn't going on missions.
I becon her over. She comes over, looking a little steamed.
She had a little argument with Screeny.
I grow to her size.
"What is it?" She said, her attitude escalating.
"Wanna know why I haven't been going on missions lately?" I ask, smiling proudly.
"Why?"
I smile wider. "I'm pregnant."
Her eyes soften, then she hugs me tightly.
"Don't tell anyone yet. I'll tell them tonight." I wink.
"I better be first to hold them." She warned, smiling.
"Shh!" I smile as Bee walked by.
He looked confused, shrugged, and went on with whatever he was doing.
Optimus glanced at me from the side, eyebrow raised in suspicion.
Arcee and I part paths, both smiling innocently.
I knew Optimus wasn't buying it.
I knew I was an absolute terrible liar.
And everyone knew it.
That night
All the kids were here, along with June and Fowler. I even brought Anti, so he knew he was getting a little sibling.
"Alright, everyone. I have a big announcement." I say, where the kids usually hang out.
Everyone turns to me. "I... Uh... I'm pregnant."
I get a series of congrarulations and practically crushed by the kids, asking me what the baby was.
"I want to keep it a surprise." I say, June beaming at me.
Anti giggles. "I can't wait! I hope it's a boy!" He jumps up and down, hugging my belly.
Week 3-7
S and I were planning our announcement. For the baby and our engagement.
We tell the elders the news, and dad and mom were tearing up.
"I can't wait to have a grandbaby to spoil!" She cried, arms around me.
My belly was swollen now. You could tell just by looking at me.
S and I had started assembling the nursery with a bureau, crib, and a chair that either of us could rock in.
I had to take it easy now. I got tired very quickly, and some nights I would wake up to kicking in my stomach.
But I didn't care. I could feel warmth and sometimes even a heartbeat if I concentrated hard enough.
Every week I went to the doctors, keeping Ratchet satisfied.
But the day of the announcement came very quickly.
We did it on a live feed, so the whole realm could hear and see.
After it aired live, me or S couldn't escape a flood of congratulations wherever we went.
Week 8
I kept counting the days, my belly swollen even more.
S always came to base right after he finished his shifts.
I always took my proper medicine and vitamins, going to the doctor every week.
They say the baby was really healthy. Being at this stage, anyway.
The kicking got a little more common, but they stopped whenever S put his hand on them.
I sat down on the couch, winded. It was happening a little more often than not.
Bee and Screeny were excited the most, always getting a little too excited when any mention of a baby came along.
Bulk and Arcee were excited, but they tried not to show it as much.
Optimus kept trying not to smile. I saw it on his face every time the kids said they wanted to hold the new baby.
Ratchet was a little worried, but he was still glad I gave him reports every week.
Ratchet, as always, glanced at me with worry at first.
"Can I feel?" Miko asks. She was the only one here, again.
Raf and Jack were out racing thier toy cars around base.
"Sure. They probably won't kick, though." I nod.
Miko rubs my belly.
I take her hand, letting her feel where the hands and legs were.
"I bet they're gonna be so cute." Miko gushes, still rubbing my belly.
I smile. "I just hope they're healthy."
"Got a name yet?" She asks.
I nod. "S and I both agreed that thier human name was going to be Sam either way, but thier angel name would be Star Fire if it's a girl, and Geo Sphere if it's a boy."
"Ooh. Tough choice." She grins, flopping backwards.
"Miko, be gentle!" Ratchet calls, being grumpy as always.
But I never made it to week 9.
