Gliders
Moon
Several days later
Nightshade was asleep, his head on the makeshift coffee table.
Miko was typing on her phone on the recliner, bored.
She snuck out of detention again.
Jack was at work, and Raf was at home doing homework.
Anti's gliders were growing in fast, making him have constant growing pains.
Every day S would come to base after he was done with shifts, checking up on me and Anti.
I really appreciated that.
Showed that he really cared. I know he did care for the both of us, but he reinforced it every time he came to base.
But I had to finish something.
The runes on my armor.
I had to start it. My armor wouldn't be able to handle too much with no runes.
I snap my chain on the floor, my armor folding out.
Anti was watching intently. Miko got interested, too.
She put down her phone her chin in hands.
I pick up certain parts and pieces, determining whether or not I could place runes on them.
Miko would pick up the same piece I put down, trying to see what I saw.
I could put runes on every piece, even on the inside.
S comes through a portal, smiling.
Miko waves.
He sits next to me, kissing my head, then hugging Anti.
"Awwww!" Miko says, puppy eyes forming.
I blush.
I feel the eyes of Bulkhead, Ratchet, and Arcee on me.
I think the others were on a relic hunt.
Anti climbs behind our shoulders, peeking through our necks.
"I have something for you." S says to me, fishing something in his pocket.
"Oh?" I ask.
Anti covers my eyes, giggling.
I smile, playing along.
S grabs my hand, putting something in my palm.
It felt cold and light.
Anti uncovers my eyes, and I see a little silver moon cradling a golden sun.
It would fit perfectly on my chain.
"Thanks, hun." I say, kissing his cheek.
Miko giggles.l
S smiles. "That's your wing armor. Just snap it off with your chain and it should work."
I nod. "Thanks."
He holds my hand. His hand is soft and warm.
I could get used to this.
Then he looks down at my armor scattered on the floor.
"What are you doing?"
"Trying to find places for runes." I rub my head.
It was exhausting. Finding the right runes, then testing them, then actually carving them, which was the worst part.
"Need help? I can get you the tool." He asks, head tilted.
"What tool?" Miko asks.
"The tool to carve the runes inti the armor." S replies, not looking up at her.
She nods.
I shake my head. "Still have to plan it out."
"Alright." He says.
Anti shuffles behind our back more.
"Mom... It really hurts." He whines.
He had started calling me mom for a few days now.
Bumps on his back were growing.
I put him in my lap, cutting out holes in his shirt where they will come out.
They were about ready.
He winces, falling on his knees.
"Easy. Just breath. I know it hurts. Just breath." S says, getting up and kneeling in front on him.
I hold Anti's sides, just to make sure he doesn't collapse.
Everyone is watching.
Anti breaths deeply, clutching S' hand.
"There you go. Just keep breathing..." S says, letting Anti squeeze the life out of his fingers
Little neon green twigs grow out from the holes I made.
The twigs grow fat, material hanging down.
His gliders were coming in.
He leans a little too much to the side, but I hold him still.
"Almost there, bud. It's okay. We're here. Just keep breathing."
Glowing neon gliders finally stop growing, tendrills of extra skin would be dragging on the floor when he stood.
Everyone is still watching.
Anti grabs S' forearm, lifting himself up.
He staggers back from the weight.
I still hold his sides, and I stand, giving myself extra balance.
"Easy. Take it slow." I say, and Anti shuffles slowly.
"They're really heavy." He says, leaning forward.
"You'll get used to it in about a week. Promise." S says, letting Anti hold his arms.
"Lean forward a little when you walk. It might help." I say, and Anti follows my instructions.
He tilts his waist downwards in the slightest angle, and he seems to walk a little better.
We circle around the coffee table, finally letting go when he finds his balance.
He wobbles for a little bit, then starts walking on his own.
Bee and Smokescreen has thier arms crossed on the bar, watching curiously.
Everyone was watching curiously.
Anti looks at them. "Didn't anyone tell you it's not nice to stare?"
They look a little taken aback, but go on with thier business.
S snickers behind his hand.
I smile, watching Anti determined to do this on his own.
He has the drive of his mother.
The tolerance of his father.
The thought makes me want to cry.
I feel arms around me. And a chin on my head.
"I'm not a rest stop for tall people like you, ya know!" I laugh.
"Oh, I didn't see you there, shortie." He smirks.
I poke him in the stomach, and he buckles over, wheezing.
"Ha. I win." I smile.
"Really?" He says, swinging me up over his shoulder.
I sigh, tapping his shoulder impatiently. "Really? This gag again?"
He laughs. "Never gets old."
"Neither dies this."
I phase through his arms, using my power to flip him upside down, hanging by his feet.
"Ha." I smile.
"Very funny. Could put me down, now?" He rolls his eyes.
I flip him upright, setting him down on his feet.
"No fun." I cross my arms.
"Oh really?" He says, mischeviousnes glinting in his eyes.
Anti had enough of walking, but was having issues sitting.
I make my wings come out, and I show him how to tilt his wings forward so he could sit comfortably.
It took him a few tries, but it was like having a new set of limbs. It took some getting used to.
Miko got bored again, petting Nightshade with her foot.
He didn't mind. He just let her, content.
"Moon." Arcee got my attention.
"Yes?" I ask, getting up from the couch and flying to her eye level.
"Wanna take a drive with me?"
I look back at S, and he nods.
"Sure. Why not?"
She transforms, and I hop on, shrinking my wings.
I think of what to say when people ask me what I'm doing driving Jack's bike.
I'll say I'm his mechanic, replacing brakes and a dead wire.
She drives into town.
"Where are we going?"
"I just wanted to drive. Thought you might want to come."
"Ok." So it was just a case of where we went wherever.
We stop a red light, and a mucle car pulls up with a whole bunch of decals all over.
The car pulls up, and the window rolls down.
"What are you doing riding Darby's moped?" A ginger male asks, his face set in a nasty smirk.
Vince. The bully.
"Fixing his brakes and a few crossed wires." I say.
He scoffs. "Why waste your time on a piece of junk like that?"
Arcee revs angrily.
I keep revving as he keeps talking.
"HEY!" He screams as we take off sqeualing down the road.
"Nice job." Arcee says.
"Thanks." I say, feeling the wind whizzing through my hair.
We pass Jack's work place, but we keep driving.
"Arcee, since you did some driving, how about I do some flying?"
"And how are you not going to get spotted?"
"Trust me."
She drives further and further away from town, and she transforms.
I grow to her size, and I ask her to hang onto ny hand.
She hesitantly listens, grasping my hand.
"Ill circle back to base. If you get tired of holding on, let me know." I say.
She nods.
I make a weightless rune, putting it on her.
I slowly take off, gliding high above the clouds.
She looks down the whole way.
When we land on the roof, she looks content.
When we go down the elevator, a surprise is waiting for me.
