Cuddles

Moon

I had never had my own personal guard before.

I nod.

"Under one condition." I say, knowing his background. He was top of his class in fighting. He would be a good teacher.

His face goes slack, and he nods.

"You get me to a level in which I can enlist in the Academy."

The Academy was a school for any sort of professional jobs. Doctors, Guards, Elementals, Potion Mixers, anyone could go to the Academy and learn basically anything about any profession.

But you had to pass an endurance test to get in. But only for the fighting aspect of things.

For anything else you just had to take a three day test.

He looks taken aback by the comment.

"If you dont mind me asking, why do you require fighting?" He asks, his voice kind of held back, as if he was afraid of me.

"Because the autobots saved my life. And they need all the help they can get. And I dont know how to fight." I reply, leaning against the doorframe.

He nods, tapping the hilt of his sword.

"When would you like to start?" He asks, hiding his eyes behind a curtain of black hair. It kind of reminded me of Jacks, but slightly longer.

I shrug. "Can we start next week?"

He nods, walking away to tell his supervisor he was now my personal guard.

I shut the door, feeling a little better. I felt like I could talk to him. Openly, with no secrets.

I could with Bee and Arcee, but I just felt closer to Ash because he was the same species as I was, I guess.

Nightshade nuzzled into my back, resting his ginourmous head on my shoulder.

I pat his muzzle, walking to my bed.

I sigh.

All I ever wanted to do was help. Now I have the chance to. But how will I get into the Academy without anyone knowing who I am?

That'll be a challenge for sure.

I sit on my bed, flopping backwards.

Nightshade lays down on the cushion beside my bed and lays his head on my pillow.

I stroke his soft nose, unclasping my heels and undoing my braid.

I let the straps unwind and set the stilletos on the floor opposite Nightshade, and I hear them land with a thud.

I stretch out and sit up. I have to get in my pajamas. I wouldnt be able to sleep in this gorgeous dress.

I slide the silk off, laying the dress down on my bed. I slither into a baggy T-shirt and fluffy pajama pants.

I was still human in some ways.

I dont bother messing up the sheets. I straighten them out more, making sure the edges are pressed flat.

I walk around my bed and lay down on the cushion that almost took up my whole room.

Nightshade huffed in my hair, his hot breath making strands of hair fly around my face.

I didnt care.

He placed one hoof and one wing over me, him laying on his side. His wing underneath both of us made the cushion even softer.

I snuggled into his muscular chest, breathing in the grass he rolled around in a few days earlier.

I felt his head just above mine, finding that perfect spot to stay the whole night.

I curled up tighter.

He was the only boy I would ever cuddle with. And I think he knew that.

I kissed his neck before burying myself back underneath his wing, feeling his heart beat in my ears.

I felt him move around a little more, and when he found the perfect place, he snorted happily.

I close my eyes, breathing in the grass on his fur and stroking his belly until both of us fell asleep.

Next Day

I wake up and check the time on my watch that was just collecting dust on my nightstand.

Noon.

Nightshade was already gone. He must've went out and eaten already.

My door was open, so one of the maids must have let him out.

I keep asking them to leave it up to me. That it was my responsibility to look after Nightshade. But they still dont listen. I guess they're as stubborn as me.

I shut my door to find my jeans, T-shirt and sneakers were already on my bed.

But my dress and shoes were gone.

A little note beside my clothes read:

Didn't want to wake you. Took your dress and shoes into the Stone Hall. Say 'Hi' to Optimus for us!~Mom

I smile. Mom is always the ones to be leaving notes around.

I unfold my shirt and another note falls out.

Anti wants to see you sometime this week. He misses you. Would it be alright if he came sometime this week? ~ Galaxy

I grin like an idiot. Of course I wouldnt mind Anti coming over!

(Galaxy is Anti's mother, btw)

I get dressed, shaking out my clothes and making sure no more notes are left.

I walk out into the marble corridor, and I can see Nightshade in the far hallway, Ash leading him to my door.

So it was Ash that let him out. I would have to give him the talk about Nightshade being my responsibility.

But he wont listen anyway, if hes like the other guards around here.

Ash blushes when he sees me.

No, not that way! I meant like he was ashamed of himself. I dont know. He just wasnt himself.

Nightshade gallops towards me, and I could tell from his large belly that he would be full for a few hours.

"Ash, thank you. But he is my responsibility." I say as he walks towards me, head down.

He nods shakily.

"What happened?" I ask as I keep watching him shudder.

He shakes his head. "I.... it's just that..."

He stares at the floor.

"Whats wrong?"

"I cant believe im saying this" he scowled at himself, and he turned to me. "How are you so nice? I mean, look at all the past Alphas! Everyone adores you, and everyone else they hated!" He asks, half whispering.

"I just have to remind myself Im just like you. I cant let my position get to my head." I reply, watching how he reacted to the comment.

His eyes widened a little. Then he smiles.

"You're ready to begin training." He says, a smile forming on his thin lips.

"When?"

"Whenever you like."

"Thanks for doing this for me, Ash. It means a lot."

He nods.

Nightshade trots beside me, huffing and using his head to push me out of the way.

He didnt like Ash.

He liked anyone. Especially if they gave him food.

"He doesnt like me, does he?" Ash asks, arms crossed.

I shake my head. "I dont think so."

He laughs, locking eyes with me.

He grabs my chin, but Nightshade quickly interferes by stepping on his foot.

He just gives Nightshade a look, and he backs off.

He grips my chin again, getting too close for comfort.

He backs me up against a wall and whispers

Your horse has the right idea about me.

Into my ear.

I try shoving him off me, but he has me pinned.

I try using my power, but they flicker and fade away each time I try to use anything that would help me.

Why can't I fight back?

Nightshade kicks him this time, square in the spine.

Ash crumbles to the floor as Nightshades hoove collides with the armor, leaving a large dent.

I jump on Nightshade's back and get help.

I tell other guards that I pass what happened, and they go get his unconscious body, dragging him off to the hospital and then to jail.

Nightshade and I go through a portal and gun it.

What did he mean by your horse has the right idea about me?

I dont care right now.

We end up in the base, and I hop off Nightshade and everyone is there except Bulkhead.

They all stare at me, not expecting me without warning.

I tell them all what happened after Ratchet noticed me getting more and more agitated as time grew.

I cling onto Nightshades mane, grateful that he was there.

What wild have happened to me if he wasn't?

Why couldnt I fight back?

What made my powers stop working?

But I will still learn how to fight, no matter what.
