I don't wanna be your friend, I wanna kiss your neck
Lexi was guided through the supermarket by her hectic brother pulling her to every section he liked which was mainly the snack aisles.
"I want banana milk!"
"Okay, punk, lead the way," he tugged on her arm again. He released her when he spotted the flavoured milk section. His small eyes gazed through the colourful packaging looking for his favourite flavour. Pouting he turned to her.
"I don't see it!"
"Oh, I think it's out of stock,"
"No!" He whined and threw his arms up in the air, Lexi could tell he was about to throw a tantrum.
"Josh, we can get some next week okay?"
Huffing, he took a breather by the yoghurt section when Lexi grinned and shook her head.
They were in line at the cashier when she heard Josh yelped excitingly. His sneakers squeaking against the tiled floor when he stopped at a guy's basket and swiftly stuck his hand in and took a bottle of banana milk.
"Look, Lexi! I found some!"
"Dude, you can't just take someone's milk that's stealing, who raised you?"
"You did," he said matter of factly.
"Ah, you're right," she bent down to meet his face.
"Then this will be a lesson of not stealing, it's wrong and not nice,"
With a pouted expression he nodded his head. Smiling she ruffled his hair. "Now let's give that person back his milk,"
Lexi walked over to the guy and she immediately recognised him as the guy who she practically sees every day.
Clearing her throat she gained his attention. "Sorry, my brother stole this from your basket, he really likes this flavour," she lightly nudged Josh forward.
Complying he handed him back the yellow bottle.
"I'm sorry,"
He raised a brow. "It's okay, you can have it if you are were willing to steal it,"
"Really?!" Josh chimed in. Wasting no time he grabbed it from Jungkook's hand and hid behind Lexi.
"Uh, sure," he said staring at his empty hand.
"Thank you," Lexi apologetically said.
"Next!" The cashier called.
"See you around," Jungkook waved at Josh peeking from Lexi's back as he placed his items on the check out counter.
They stepped back to their line. "Look, Lexi! Banana milk!"
Lexi ruffled his hair she narrowed her eyes, seemingly scrutinizing the guy. She noted how comfy he looked in his all grey, baggy clothes, and how soft his hair might feel if she ran her fingers-
"Lexi!" Josh's voice snapped her out of her trance.
"Yeah?"
"It's our turn!" He said putting his precious milk on the cashier belt.

The scent of wine and spices, cheerful eyes and the chit chatter of unbothered people filled her senses. Lexi set down the tray of steaming food that was scorching her hand, with a smile she gingerly placed the dishes to each person on the table.
"Let me know if you need anything else, enjoy,"
"Heads up," Her coworker pointed to the entrance as another two bodies came in.
"On it." She refastened her black apron straps that came undone.
Once they were seated by the head waiter, Lexi dusted off her hands on her apron and flipped open her notepad. Flashing her mandatory smile she froze when she noticed that all too familiar face.
Glupping, she flashed a pleasant smile."Good evening, my name is Lexi, I'll be serving you today,"
"Hi, can we get started on drinks? I'll have a glass of Malbec red wine." The girl ordered in a flat tone.
Jotting down her order Lexi narrowed her eyes to the guy. "And for you, sir?"
He hummed out quizzically. "Do you have banana milk?" He said in a half- playful tone while flipping through the drink menu.
Lexi bit her cheek to stop herself from smiling at his comment.
"No, sir, you can check Value Dollar grocery store,"
"I already did, but I gave the last one to a boy who at first stole it out of my basket,"
Lexi studied his complacent expression and smiled. "Really? How rude of him, but I'm sure he appreciated the kind gesture,"
"Are you seriously asking for milk in a restaurant?" The girl gave him a somewhat dirty look.
Not wanting to aggravate the situation Lexi cut in. "May I suggest a White Russian? It's vodka, Kahlua and cream,"
"Sounds good, thanks,"
"Okay, I'll get started on your drinks," Lexi excused herself and shuffled through the dining hall, catching glimpses of satisfied smiles from customers.
"I need a glass of Malbec red white and a White Russian please,"
Lexi stood waiting for Tom, the bartender, to finish concocting the drinks when her eyes couldn't help but drift to the table. The guy who she sees almost every day. In stores, coffee shops and now, at the restaurant she worked at.
She noted his attire was completely different from how he dressed at the supermarket last week. Lexi would be lying through her teeth if she said he didn't look handsome in his all back attire. Black shirt, black pants complemented by a black blazer.
"Why are you glaring so intensely for?"
She let out a bratty sigh. "I don't know, I feel like I should know more about that guy, I see him literally every day, but we hardly ever spoken,"
"Maybe you should talk to him,"
"Umm, I don't know if you can tell but, he's clearly on a date,"
Putting on the finishing touches on the glasses Tom chimed. "He doesn't seem all that interested in her,"
They both switched their gaze at the couple. "See how he's lazily tapping his finger on the table, clearly bored and she's scrolling through her phone like she's really uninterested,"
"Since when did you become an expert in body language?"
"Honey, it's a nice restaurant I've seen my fair share of good dates and bad date, and this is looking like a bad one"
Tom placed the drinks on the serving tray. "One red wine and one White Russian,"
"Thanks."

Shutting her locker Lexi smoothed out any wrinkles that were created on her skirt from being cramped in her cabinet. She once-over in the mirror, letting out her hair, she half tucked in her shirt into her short black pleated skirt and rolled up her sleeves.
It was quitting time for Lexi she was about to leave but took a last look at the Misery's Couple only to find a lonesome guy sipping on his White Russian. The table looked bare with only him and his glass, meaning the girl had left a while now for the waiter to remove her wine glass. Lexi wanted to leave but her legs moved without her permission and soon found herself standing in from of him.
Nibbling on her bottom lip Lexi searched for the right words. Before he had the chance to notice her she studied his features. His posture was slouched and radiated a gloomy aura.
"She's not coming back with the banana milk, is she?" She half-heartedly joked.
Snapping out of his trance he took in the sight of her. He chuckled lightly.
"Afraid not,"
Nodding, Lexi turned to leave but paused in her tracks. In that split second, curiosity had the upper hand on her. She wanted to know more about this guy.
Why was he here?
Where did his date go?
And what was so damn special about freaking banana milk?
All of this wasn't just a coincidence. But she hardly believed in destiny, although noticing this stranger everywhere she went had somehow justified it.
It was probably the only opportunity she had and she took it.
Gently grabbing his wrist she ordered. "Come on, you deserve another drink,"
Getting up he let his body be guided by her. Strolling past the main dining hall they arrived at the far end of the bar with no residents.
"I thought you were going home?" Tom asked while wiping a glass, but stopped when Jungkook sat down.
"Ohh, I see," he smirked at her.
She playfully stuck out her tongue at Tom.
"What would you like to drink?"
"Mojito, thanks"
"Tom? On the house please,"
Halting his actions Tom raised a brow. "By 'on the house', you mean from your paycheck, right?"
"Yes," she said flatly.
"You're very kind but I can't let you pay for me,"
Resting her chin on her hand she pondered. "Well, you can buy me a cup of coffee when we meet again,"
"Deal?" She pressed.
"Deal."
Tom placed the drink in front of him smiling he nodded to him. Lexi couldn't help but study him, his eyes closed as he downed the bitter liquid. Spellbound by him her eyes trailed to his neck as the muted fluorescent lights reflected off his slightly glistening skin.
A clear of a throat along with the soft clash of ice hitting a glass brought her back to reality. She looked at the drink in front of her and peered up at Tom's smug expression.
"What's this?"
"Vodka Tonic, 'on the house'," He mocked.
"Thank you," Her voice was quiet, sipping the drink the cold vodka and tart lime coated her parched throat. Turning to him she began.
"It's weird I feel like I've known you my whole life, but you're such a mystery,"
Leaning back on the leather stool the corner of his mouth lifted into a charming smile.
"Then how about a game of 20 questions?"
"How about 10?"
"Deal," he pinched the bridge of his nose in thought. Lexi found it adorable and couldn't hold back her smile.
"Why are you smiling?" His brows drew together.
"Oh, no reason. My turn. Umm, what's your favourite colour?"
"Really? That's your question?"
She crinkled her nose and scowled. "Hey, it is a very nice thing to know what colour someone likes the most, mine is yellow,"
"Fine, black. Favourite band?"
"Oooh that's tough," Lexi took another sip, the ice hitting her teeth made her wince.
"So there's this band called Arctic Monkeys, have you heard of them?"
"Yeah, I love them!" Jungkook arched forward in his chair when his scent immediately invaded her head. Black vanilla and perhaps the fragrance of a juicy peach made her mouth go dry and drench at the same time. Snapping her eyes away she took another mouthful of her bitter drink to escape his intoxicating scent, she forced back to reality.
Jungkook laid his hand under his jawline to rest on it. Shifting his body towards her their knees scraped against each other. She felt a tinge of comfort as the softness of his pants rubbed against her bare skin.
"So, what do you do for a living?" She questioned.
"I...rather not say,"
She rose a wary brow. "You're not in the mafia are you?" She spun her head to look around her and brought her hand to her face and whispered.
"Is this conversation being recorded?"
He grinned and brought the glass to his lips before replying. "Well if it is, the only dirt I have to blackmail you on is that your favourite colour is yellow,"
"Hey! Yellow is a very cheerful and underrated colour,"
"Uh-huh, where do you see yourself in five years?"
Glancing down on her half-empty glass she took a moment to think. "Happy, healthy and the manager of this restaurant, and in another five years, possibly opening my own," tailing her fingers on the condensation on the glass she smiled.
"I love this restaurant it's rewarding to create a piece of serene and to see satisfied customers in their own little euphoria,"
"I haven't thought about it in that way before, it's very admirable of you,"
Crossing her legs she chimed. "You know we've seen each other all the time but the only place I don't see you is in my dreams,"
"Well cross your fingers tonight,"
Scoffing lightly, she pondered on asking him the question that was playing on her tongue since the start of the game.
"So what happened to your date?"
He drew his lower lip between his teeth. "It was a blind date and I guess we were forced to be here together by our friends, we just wanted different things,"
"I see," Is all she said, by the look of his dulled expression and the short answer she knew he didn't want to talk about it. So she left it as it was.
"Deepest fears?"
Lexi thought about it, mentally going down the list of creepy things. From clowns to snakes, to the crippling economy. When she scrunched up her face.
"I would say definitely frogs, it's more of a disgusted reaction more than fear reaction. People think they're cute but they are not! They are gross and slimy and my skin crawls just thinking about it," she hugged her body in revulsion.
"It's okay, sorry I brought it up," He said rubbing her back soothing away the goosebumps on her skin. She felt how his strokes slowed down to an intimate touch. While his other hand lazily played with the hem of her skirt. She peaked beside him as his heavy brown eyes were transfixed on her parted lips.
They were close, close enough for her to catch the fresh scent of mint leaves and a slight hint of citrus fanning her flushed cheeks. With parted lips, he edged closer but a buzz emitting from his jacket halted him.
Removing his touch on her warm skin, she swore she heard him growl as he took out his phone.
His expression closed up. "I'm sorry," he placed his phone back in his pocket and stood up.
"I have to go, thank you for tonight it was fun,"
"It's no problem I had fun too," her voice coated with sudden dismay.
Drowning the last of his drink he placed the glass on the counter and gave a contented smile at her.
"Bye, Lexi."
"Wait," her voice rushed. Standing up she caught his hand in hers, the chill of his palm from the frosty glass sent a sweet shiver up her arm. He raised a brow at her.
"What's your name?"
"Is that your final question?"
Earnestness clouded her features, she nodded.
"Jungkook." Smiling, he was about to leave but turned back to her. Pondering for a second he gave her hand a light squeeze.
"Meet me tomorrow morning at 9 for coffee? The usual place?
"You know our ten questions are up, right?"
A smirk dancing on his lips, he combed back his hair with his free hand. "Well, this is more of a request,"
Feeling the heat of a blush peppering on her neck as his eyes blazed under her she nodded.
"Yeah, I'll meet you there."
With that, she let go of his hand and her eyes followed him until his back left her sight.
Finishing up her own drink Tom leaned against the counter as the corners of his mouth twitched upwards. "So, what are you gonna wear?"
