Triton's P.O.V

So I was hanging round one of the beaches in New York. I had been quite stressed recently so I decided I needed bit of a break. Well I didn't decided it my dad, Poseidon practically threw me out of the palace and told me to "enjoy myself"

I watched the people come and go. Enjoying my day off.

A little girl caught my eye she was probably 4 years old with brown hair and was running into the water, giggling.

"Percy I beat you!" She yelled to a much older boy, running after her, who I figured was her brother. He had dark black hair and a lean swimmers body. Even though I had only meet him once for a few minutes I recognised him at once because he was the spit of our father.

Perseus Jackson my half brother. Typical of him to turn up when he wasn't wanted and ruin my day to myself. I was tempted the dive into the water again and find a different beach to sit on but I stayed. I don't know why but I stayed almost out of sight by the rocks. Watching.

"You so much faster than me Estelle!" Perseus praised "I'll need to practice"

I noticed the waves had calmed around Perseus little sister - making it safer for her to play. This is one of the many reasons I dislike him so much he just can't help but be a hero.

Estelle and Perseus waded in the shallow water for a while before she pointed to the rocks.

"Let's go up there Percy." She said. I must admit she was very sweet for a human

She held Perseus' had and they walked towards the rocks where I sat. I couldn't summon up the will power to move so I stayed.

Estelle clambered over a particularly large rock and caught sight of me. Lounging on a flat stone.

"Oh hello" she said slightly shocked.
"Hi" I replied dryly, looking at her over my sunglasses. Call me dramatic but I really was enjoying my alone time.

Perseus took one look at me and rolled his eyes.

"And hello Triton." he said

"Perseus" I nodded at him.

"I'm Estelle" Estelle announced happily. "Who are you?"

"Have we not established this?"

Perseus rolled his eyes again "Stella this is my half-brother Triton."

"Like Ariel's Dad?" Estelle exclaimed. Her eyes wide with excitement.

I never had a daughter named Ariel or Attina, Alana, Adella, Aquata, Arista, or Andrina but this mortal child had taken to me already so I nodded "yes my lovely daughter, Ariel who defanatly exists and..."

I was cut off my Estelle hugging me. I hadn't even realised I had got to my feet. "Can you tell her I'm a big fan please Mr Triton" she said seriously.

I patted her head awkwardly and said "of course." I mouthed 'help me' to Perseus who was trying not to laugh.

Estelle looked up realisation coming to her small face. "If I'm Percy's sister and Percy's your brother and Ariel's your daughter and I related to Ariel?"

"Maybe Stella" Perseus said guiding her away "well I'm sure Triton is very busy with underwater stuff. How about ice cream?"

"It's my day off today" I mentioned helpfully

Estelle grabbed my hand "well you can come get ice cream with us"

"Wait no that's not what I meant" I tried to protest

"Can Triton come with us Percy?"

"I'm sure Triton doesn't want to"

"He does. Come on Triton let's get ice cream"

Estelle grabbed Perseus hand and she skipped of dragging us both along.

I wondered how the little girl could persuade people like that. I was leaning towards mind control.

"So what is is mortal ice-cream thing then?" I asked.

Estelle looked open mouthed at me. "Have you never had ice cream before?"

"Nope"

"Well it's amazing and cold..." Then she started listing off all the flavours of ice cream ever invented. "But blue berry ice-cream with sprinkles is definitely the best."

We stood in line for 10 minutes. This Ice cream better be good. Finally we reached the front.

"2 blue berry ice-cream with sprinkles and..." Perseus looked at me

"I'll have a blue one as well"

"3 blue berry ice-cream with sprinkles please Rick." The guy in the van got our food ready. Smiling he said "of course Percy."

Rick handed us our ice cream and we sat on a bench to eat it. I have to say it tasted very nice. Estelle got it all over her face. She then started playing in the sand.

Somehow she persuaded us to help her build a sand castle. We didn't have any buckets or spades but I think it still looked good. By the time we had finished the it was 6:30 and Estelle was falling asleep. Perseus picked her up.

"I better take her home" he said "see ya Triton"

"Wait. I'll walk you back." This surprised even me. Perseus raised his eyebrow and I raced to defend myself "well if something ambushes you Estelle will be in danger."

Perseus laughed "come on then. My Knight in not so shining armour."

We walked in silence for a while before Perseus spoke "why did you hang around with us today?"

The question took me by surprise.

"I have to be honest Perseus"
"Percy"
"What?"
"Call me Percy. The only people who call me Perseus usually try to kill me"
"Ok. Percy, I don't know"
"Fair enough"

We fell silent again.

"Does Stella know about our father?" I asked

"Well obviously she knows about the gods and stuff with the mist gone but not about me, she can be a bit of a blabber mouth sometimes." We both laughed.

Before long, we reached the door the Percy's apartment. "Well bye Triton" Percy said "remember to pass that message on to Ariel"

"Ha ha, well bye Percy." We smiled at each other. He shut the door and I flashed away thinking that Percy Jackson may not be as bad as I previously thought.

Phew that was long XD there's probably some mistakes but I can't be bothered to fix them now.
