A new showcase @Earthly_Star, author of The Peace Intervention

1 what inspired the idea of your story?

Interstellar and Ideas of Socialism and Democracy. I watched Interstellar and was really hooked. A week later, I wanted to try writing a Science Fiction. Though, my story is a Science Fiction, it doesn't include very much Science or anything. It is about a faraway planet which is in tatters because of a tyrant and people from Earth go there on a mission.

2 what is something you struggled constructing with your story?

The codes that the protagonist stumbles upon. I wanted to make it seem a really clueless and complex piece to the point that it seemed just tiring and the person might just want to give up. The protagonist was to deal very carefully and patiently.

Also, the one where I had to come up with the properties of weapons and instruments, that was real fun but hard, nonetheless.

3 what did you enjoy writing most of your story?

The parts of the story where the characters are conversing and poking fun among themselves. I had earlier thought that it would be hard but surprisingly, those parts flowed out easily.

4 what's the overall response of your story from your readers?

Not much, yet. People seemed to somewhat understand my hazy thoughts and whatever I wrote, that is enough for me. I also received a few hearty compliments which were really motivating. Overall, I can't get ahead of thinking that I actually wrote it.

5 is your story a stand alone novel or a piece of a series ?

A standalone, for now. I may write further if I ever want to.

6 what would you like your readers to take away from your story?

My story only describes events, mostly. However, I feel the elements in it motivate me to be a better person. It tells how ignorance and monstrosity stems from delusions and biasedness. It is about humanity, survival and how fortunate we are to have this beautiful life.

7 what advice would you provide to fellow writers, when it comes to focusing on their own story?

Write what concerns and interests them the most. Write when it makes them happy, write to find faith and happiness. That's it.

8 does your main character share any similarities to yourself?

A lot. Not only the main character, but most of the characters have inherited something or the other from me. Lol.

9 what is something about your story you believe would draw in new readers?

The social side of the story, the overall settings of the planet whose citizens are suffering due to a deeply-rooted social evil. The second one is that the characters tend to think a lot. I feel that most stories lack this  characteristic.

10 do you have any future projects?

Yeah, many of them. I might write them, someday.
