interview #7 @Tanya3231
1 What is the best way to handle a bully?
Thankfully, I've yet to deal with a bully, but I know that the time will come. All I can say is at that time the block and report buttons will be my BFFs. There's a difference between criticism and bullying!
2) What is your favorite story?
Out of the six that I've written so far, I would say that my favorite story is my current one titled "Obey". With "Obey" I took a lot of literary risks. I did things other authors often forgo, tried things for the first time, and so far, it looks like everything's paid off.
3) Are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follow, or comment?
I still think I'm fairly new to Wattpad, so yes. I don't take votes for granted, I'm appreciative of each and every one. Follow are so sweet and connect me with really cool people. And finally, comments are like sugar to me. They give me all the motivation I need to continue writing, especially when I may feel ready to give up because I'm frustrated and dealing with writer's block or a hectic schedule.
4) What is your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday is Christmas Eve because that's one of the only times of the year my family gets together. I have so many good memories of Christmas Eve at my grandparents' house with the entire family and everyone staying up until midnight so that we could all open gifts ASAP and together.
5) If you could gain advice from your favorite author, who would you choose and what would you ask?
Oh gosh, there's so many. Cocoa Fujiwara, the author of "Inu × Boku SS", would've been an author whose brain I would've loved to pick before her passing. Tomu Ohmi, the author of both "Midnight Secretary" and the "Kindan no Koi wo Shiyou" series, is someone who'd I love to ask about writing a good mature book. I appreciate how she balances the love, relationships, and eroticism of her books, and believe that in itself is an art form. I'd enjoy learning to better my craft from someone who I've seen do it beautifully.
6) What is the best way to spend a rainy day?
Inside, cuddled up like a human burrito in heavy blankets with my laptop in front of me and either my writing, an anime, a manga, or The Sims game loaded up.
7) Who is your favorite celebrity?
All hail, Queen Beyoncé!
8) What is your favorite thing about Wattpad?
I appreciate how Wattpad has the forums, a place that writers can connect and better themselves with the input of others.
9) What is one Wattpad goal?
I'm looking forward to finishing my first book and publishing it in its entirety on Wattpad. Fingers crossed, "Obey" will be the first.
10) What is a song you enjoy? Who is the artist?
I don't have a particular song or artist I enjoy; I usually just turn on a randomized playlist or Pandora and call it a day, haha. However, one song that I've been listening to a lot lately would be "Stand Up" by Cynthia Erivo. I really enjoy her emotion, and I feel as if in the current climate this song is something of great importance.
11) How would you celebrate a publishing deal?
I rarely drink, so definitely wine, chocolates, and a day off work to just bask in the feeling of success.
request time
"Obey" is my current work in progress and one of my near decade-old babies. I started writing it when I was around 15 and now, I am 24 and taking writing more seriously. Someone should consider reading "Obey" because I believe it brings something different to the table. It's a paranormal romance mostly and it features people, young adults of college-age and older just trying to figure out life, and creatures other than your typical ghosts, vampires, werewolves, demons, so on and so forth. Throughout the years, "Obey" had grown, evolved with me, so who knows, one day I may publish the original version and we could all get a good laugh.
