interview #19 @RavenAkuma
1 what's one Wattpad goal?
My primary goal on Wattpad is feedback. I want to find talented writers or even fellow amateurs so we can help each other out. It makes me very happy to know that I am getting invaluable advice about my story, and that I can give it to someone else should need be.
2 are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follow or comment?
Very! I've been on Wattpad for almost six years. I've burned through many concepts, works, and a couple of profiles. My stories were never very popular, which makes sense in hindsight. Not only was I just starting out and very bad at writing, but I was bad at making connections. So, in other words, it's very surprising when I get new followers, votes, or comment. They're a rare treat, but they make my day!
3 who is your favorite author?
My favorite author is undoubtedly Edgar Allan Poe. I'm very much into old-school literature, especially in the Gothic genre.
4 how would you celebrate a publishing deal?
I'd celebrate a publishing deal by hunkering down in my dark room, listening to some metal, and drawing something with my chinchilla on my shoulder. That's my idea of a celebration night, haha!
5 if you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do?
Chriss Motionless of Motionless In White! His music has inspired a lot of ideas for my series. As for what I'd do, while I would usually say something like "stroll around a bookstore," I would love to watch horror movies in this scenario.
6 what's your favorite snack?
Depends on my mood. Primarily, white chocolate, matcha candy, or Twix bars.
7 what's your favorite holiday and why?
My favorite holiday is Halloween. One, there's candy for my sweet tooth. Two, I get to go all out on my costumes (I make a good Ruby Rose, haha). Three, I use the decorations year-round in my room. Finally, I love all the folklore and Celtic roots. Modern or classic, it's a very good holiday!
8 what's your favorite movie?
My favorite movie of all time is Labyrinth. It's old and a little cheesy, but I've watched it since I was a toddler, so it's highly nostalgic for me and no matter what, the story never loses its charm.
9 what inspired you to write?
I've always been a bookworm, but manga is where I really dove into the realm of writing. I was entranced by that art and how it relayed a story as well as any of the books I read. I figured I'd always have trouble in that area, being American, but then I watched the American anime/manga/book series, RWBY, and saw that it was possible. I put my own series to page soon after.
10 what's your schedule regarding your writing?
My schedule regarding writing is...to sum it up now, chaotic. I work in bursts, and when I hit a streak, I can stay awake as late as three in the morning trying to finish. Balancing reading, school, and family on top of that makes it even harder. Plus, there's no guarantee that what I write will actually be used, so I could easily throw a week's worth of work away. As I said, absolute chaos, haha.
Request time
People should stop by and see the first book in my fantasy series, "The Forsaken Race - The Hidden Truth," because despite its grim moments, bloody battles, deception, and all the other troubles a lonely sylph girl must face, it also showcases the value and importance of family ties and trusting others no matter how twisted the world becomes.
