interview #11 @The_Dark_Minstrel

1 are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follow or comment?

Sometimes it does still surprise me, especially when it's been a few days since anything has happened on here. Maybe that's silly that it can still catch me by surprise after months on here but it does.

2 what inspired you to write?

I've always been inspired to write after reading a very good novel by a published author like J.R.R. Tolkien or J.K. Rowling. Their moving scenes, their unforgettable characters... it just makes me wish to make my own version. Nearly all of my stories have elements of another's work for that reason.

3 what's your favorite holiday and why?

My favorite holiday has always been Thanksgiving. I love getting to visit so much of my family at once, and I love that school gives you a week off.

4 what's your schedule regarding your writing?

Personally, I don't really have a schedule. I can't always write; sometimes I'm just not in the mood, and listening to music or reading will bring that back. Honestly, I probably write too much as it is.

5 if you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do?

I'd probably choose Christopher Nolan. He's a phenomenal director, and his movies have often left a lasting impact on the way I think. So I'd probably choose him, and would enjoy getting to talk with him about how he thinks and the messages in his movies.

6 what's your favorite snack?

Well, probably fruit. Grapes, cantaloupe  honey due melon, are watermelon have always appealed to me.

7 what's your favorite thing about Wattpad?

My favorite thing about Wattpad is the users. The people I have met on here have been kind, helpful, determined, and imaginative, and speaking with them, reading their works and comments, and having their support is part of what makes me so eager to always keep writing, if just to keep from disappointing them.

8 how would you celebrate a publishing deal ?

I would go and brag to my parents. I'm not even kidding. My parents are the greatest parents in the world, but my dad spending a lot of time telling me to read more and write less. If I ever did publish a book for read, I think I'd brag to him that I was right about continuing to write.

9 what's one Wattpad goal?

I don't really have any. I'm not obsessed with getting followers, and though it has made me so happy to have this many views on my book 'Bloodlines,' I'm not crazy about having it become a Paid Story. Mostly, I'm here for feedback and criticism, and to make friends.

10 what's your favorite movie?

My favorite movie is Inception, by Christopher Nolan. It questions the mind and what your really doing when you dream, and involves the best music, characters, and plot build-up I think I've ever seen.

11 what's a good piece of advice for a newcomer?

Don't stop trying. Writing is hard; there's a reason professional authors are so few and far between. But just because something is hard never means you should give up. I've only been writing for three years, but you can literally see how far I've come just in that time. Nothing worth doing is ever easy.

Request time

I think that you should consider reading my novel 'Bloodlines.' It may look long, but it's really not. It follows the life of a young boy, Nicolas, whose father was excecuted just after he was born. Nicolas spending his life trying to fit in, until the only family he has left is assassinated. Nicolas begins a quest that won't stop until he has avenged his family, and until he has learned the truth.
