interview #11 @Sasha_Samuel
1 what's your favorite snack?
I love everything spicy. My favorite would be sliced green raw mango with salt, paprika and coconut oil. That is the only food that I can never give up. I mean even if the doctor asks me too. Its summer and now your question makes me want to go eat it right away. But I love this question though.
2 what's your favorite holiday and why?
Christmas!!! Is there another that people are saying is their favorite these days? Come on, there is a reason why we say it's the most wonderful time of the year. The cold is pleasant only on Christmas and don't forget the Christmas trees with those lights. Nothing can beat Christmas.
3 who is your favorite author?
I love Jennifer L. Armentrout. Her lux series is my favorite. I love John Green's books. I read somewhere that it took 10 years for him to finish the fault in our stars. That... that is commitment and I needn't say I love Rowling. Don't we all?
4 how would you enjoy a rainy day?
I know saying that I don't like rain being an Author is a crime but I don't like when it rains continuous. Like you can't touch the pitcher without feeling the cold reaching your blood in your palms. I don't like that kind of rain but I love the summer rain. After a very long day of heat that even the soil is roasted, when you see the clouds getting silver and grey, when you could smell the soil and you can't help but anticipate rain. I love that rain so much. I'd love to read poetry or books or listen to songs of Nick Leng or the SLO band. If I am inspired enough maybe I would write a poem too.
5 if you could hang out with your favorite celeb for a day, who would you choose and what would you do?
I love Nick Leng and Johnny Depp. Nick Leng is a wonderful musician and singer and Johnny Depp is a great actor. Both of them are really kind people. It's hard to choose between the two of them. Nick Leng once left a comment on my poem in Instagram and I was so happy to the point that I couldn't tell my left from right. I choose Nick Leng because I love to sing. Hold on! I am not saying I sing good, just that I love to sing. I can sing to some extent. So, I'd love to sing to him playing the piano for the song "lonely shade of blue". That would be fun. For me. I don't know if he would think that it is fun though.
6 what's your favorite thing about Wattpad?
First and foremost, my readers can text me and I can reply them and I can text the other wonderful authors too. It is so fun and it gives so much insight. Second, I love how Wattpad ranks people's story. It ranks the story so accurate on the tags used and I love that feature. My story is ranked today #155 in dystopia out of 32k stories, #89 in horror-thriller out of 13.8 stories and #24 in paranormal romance out of 1.45k stories. My point is this feature encourages us. I love that about Wattpad.
7 what's a good piece of advice for a newcomer?
I'd say make sure you have a plot first. A full plot. I know there are people out there who write without plot. I saw Jennifer L. Armentrout say in an interview that she writes without plot and figures out as she goes. I tried that in 2017 and it didn't work out for me. It is always safe to have a plot. You have nothing to lose on planning ahead.
8 what's your schedule regarding your writing?
I didn't have any schedule. I write whenever I feel like writing. Some say it's good to write in the morning but I love writing at the dusk. I don't know why. But I really don't work on schedules for writing.
9 what inspired you to write?
Being lonely and depressed. I heard Rowling wrote Harry Potter when she was depressed. Hey, I am no Rowling. I am not even close but it was the depression and the loneliness. It's important to draw good things out of bad times else we wouldn't have any hope or happiness left. So, yeah! I wrote when I was at a really bad point in my life.
10 what is the best way to handle a bully?
I have to say bullying has 2 sides – the bully and the victim and I have been on both sides. I am not proud of saying that I have been a bully. But I have. I was bullied so bad when I was a freshman and sophomore in college. She was a girl in my class. She was rude talking about my appearance and my accent. She used to bully me and my friend. I used to cry almost every day. I was mad to the point that I started standing up the bully who bullied me and my friend. I enjoyed it to the point that I started being really rude to her at the end of senior year. It gave me power but it certainly is not the way to handle bullying. I think the best way is to stay patient but stand up to them but not bully them back or be rude to them. The best way is to slay them with success. I was never taught by my parents or anyone how to handle a bully and given the fact that I handled my bully so poorly, I don't know if I am the right person to answer this.
11 what's one Wattpad goal?
Goal is to have my book featured in Wattpad. My book is at #784 in featured out of 17.7k stories under the featured category. I don't know if it is impressive but I am glad that Wattpad considers my book to be featured. And to reply to each and every comment the readers post and messages the readers send me.
