interview #10 @KitWulf

1. What is your favorite thing about Wattpad?

That it allows me to share my work as well as read that of others without having to pay some ridiculous fee for membership. Sure, they have that whole premium thing, but show me a website anymore that doesn't have something like that anymore. I also love that they make it difficult for anyone to steal your work, as you can't just copy/paste off a page.

2. What is the best way to handle a bully?

Tricky question and answer, I think. You're always told to ignore them, that they'll go away, but that doesn't always happen, does it? Ignoring them can just make things worse, just as confronting them can, so there really is no winning. 'Tell someone' - Right, sure, like that ever turns out well.

I admit I was on both sides of this spectrum; I was bullied, so in turn, I bullied others. I would try to pacify guilt in saying those I bullied were other bullies, and while there were a few that were, others really weren't. Sad truth is, there really is no way to handle them, only endure them. Showing them that they won't break you down is the best thing you can do, and it's also the hardest.

3. What's a song you enjoy? Who is the artist?

My taste in music shifts about as often as my moods. Being bi-polar is fun that way. I think I've always been fond of Aesthetic Perfection though, which is more industrial-based

Love Like Lies - Aesthetic Perfection is what just popped up in my head

4. What is your favorite story?

Tie between two actually:

Blood and Chocolate - Annette Curtis-Klause (The BOOK not the movie, they butchered the story in the movie)

The Silver Wolf - Alice Borchardt (Fun fact, she's Anne Rice's sister)

5. If you could spend the day with your favorite celebrity, who would you choose and what would you do?

It's gonna sound silly, but Sean Connery - touring Scotland >.>

Dude, just think about it, him explaining the history in that voice? Omg... *Explosions*

6. If you could gain advice from your favorite author, who would you choose and what would you ask?

Laurell K. Hamilton - Would ask how she keeps up her stamina in writing periods. Like, I used to write non-stop for hours at a time, now though, I'm lucky if I can get an hour in without starting to fidget. I'll want to write, my brain wants to do it, but it's like my body won't hold still for it, totally breaking my focus

7. What is your favorite movie?

Hmm, it used to be 'The Labyrinth' with David Bowie, but I also love 'Treasure Planet', 'Titan A.E.', and 'Resident Evil'. How's that for a messed up combo?

8. What's one Wattpad goal?

"I keep my standards low, so I'm never disappointed."

If anyone can tell me what movie that's from, you get 50 points :D

But seriously, I haven't really made any, just because I had so much stuff going on outside of WP recently. I think the big one should be to get Wynter's Bane finished, I think. Pretty sure the readers for it would really appreciate that anyway, haha

9. How would you spend a rainy day?

It's actually been raining a lot here. I've been spending it sitting in front of a window while catching up on editing. If I had a decent porch, I'd be on it instead, maybe have a book with me, that I'm protecting fiercely from getting wet

10. Are you still surprised when you get a new vote, follow, or comment?

I am, yes, and highly pleased. I could really care less about the votes, although it does let me know that it is being read. Comments are the best, I think. Hearing what others think of something you wrote is a reward in and of itself

11. What is your favorite holiday and why?

Don't have a favorite holiday. Once you get older, the fun and excitement of so-and-so day just kind of dissipates till it's just another day. Not to mention all the religious jargon behind everything and how materialistic they've all become, the real meaning behind pretty much all of them lost. Now /season/ on the other hand, I love Fall. The smells and temperatures are perfect, summer bugs are dead or dying(mosquitoes are the spawns of the darkest hells), and it just has that 'homey' feeling, if that makes sense. Maybe it's just childhood nostalgia

request time

I'd love it if those reading could take a gander at Shy Walking Shadows. While being a Dark Fantasy - Were/Vamp genre novel, it isn't the kind that has a boy meets girl romance. I started it eight years ago there 'rounds, and I aimed for it being different than what people usually see in Were-animals, Vampires, and Shape-shifters. I know many read the first few chapters then drop it, thinking it sounds one way, when in fact it changes. I had written it to sound like that on purpose, not knowing it would turn so many away, but it will be changed after my editing is done. If readers can get past Kierra and Faline's initiation into the Shadows world(chapters 5-6), then that's when the story really starts and I'm sure they'll be surprised. They just have to give it a chance :}
