How Much Power is Too Much? Part 4

Six figures lay on the beach far away from any kind of civilization. One of them came to. She was a girl with sparkling red eyes. Her blue skin glowed in the light of day. The sun was bright and beating down on her warming her skin. The wind was blowing slightly and she looked out at the vast distance of water crashing on the sand.

"Jordon must have taken us to the beach," she said quietly, but which beach. It didn't look like the one that was close to the Drell Institute, but Jordon jumped to far distances before. She just wondered when and where they were now.

She looked in the distance to see a strange looking couple. Their garments were simple, but nothing she had ever seen before. The male figure seemed the odder of the two, because he had looked a lot like her.

She looked over to see two of her friends had come to. "Millie, Cree," she said as they both sat up.

"Jenny, what's going on?" Millie asked and then looked over at the strange couple approaching them.

"Who are they?" Cree asked out loud.

"I don't know," Jenny said, rising to her feet. "But they look familiar."

The boys were starting to come to as well, Jordon being the first to rise. He took in his surroundings and looked horrified. Jenny was the first to notice. He had taken them on his little time trips before, but not like this.

"Is everyone alright?" It was the first question out of his mouth.

"I think so," Jenny said then pointed to the two figures that were swiftly approaching them. "But look."

"Be on guard," Jordon said and rose to his feet. "We have no idea who they were."

Reese and Denny suddenly came back to reality and took a defensive stance. They stood between the girls and the two figures that had finally reached them. The woman had soft brown hair and wore an unusual circlet on her forehead. It was made of a strange metal. Her garment was even stranger. It was a simple lavender color. Her skirt had a slanted hem and going into two different direction meeting a few inches above her knees with a loose belt at her waist. She also wore a pair of brown leather sandals. The top of her garment showed off her cleavage but was loose fitting with two knotted ties at her shoulders.

The male was a different story. His entire body was of a blue hue which was a little bit darker than Jenny's. His eyes were a soft red, almost pink in color. His lips were black and the only garment he wore was on his lower body. His chest was bare, showing off his physique. He was muscular, but not so much so like the body builders they had seen on television.

"It is you," he said and prostrated to one knee.

The six travelers were confused and gave each other dumbfounded looks. "Where the hell are we?" Denny asked as he took Jenny's hand. The male figure in blue was looking right at her.

"Close to Blue Haven," the figure in blue said. His speech was slow and a bit cracked, like someone who was still learning the language. The female with the olive skin had said something to him that the six travelers didn't understand.

"What did she just say?" Millie asked.

"She asked who we were," Jordon said and looked over at the blue male. "I think." He noticed the male saying something to her. "He said friends."

"Friends?" Denny questioned. "We don't even know this guy."

"Quiet, Denny," Reese said. "We don't want to agitate them."

"No worries, friend," the blue male said and approached Reese. "Have waited your arrival."

"Waited... for us?" Jenny questioned. The blue male looked over at her, a brightness showing in her eyes.

"Yes, my queen," he said and bowed before her. Jenny didn't know what to make of his behavior and backed away from him. This sent a confused look upon his face. "Are you not heir to Queen Malaya?" Jenny was speechless at his question. She had been called many things before, but never a queen or even heir to one. "I am Suncerayer. You're humble servant."

"I'm no queen," Jenny said.

"Sure you are," Millie said and laughed a little. "Your highness." He gave a little curtsy which made Jenny a little embarrassed.

Suncerayer wasn't laughing. "I am sorry," he said and bowed his head. "Not mean to offend. My vision brought Rea and I here. Six figures shall fall from the sky and bring peace to our land."

"Us?" Cree questioned. "We're not heroes. We're just high school kids."

"Who get into a lot of trouble," Millie added.

"No," Suncerayer said in contradiction to their argument. He looked right at Cree who became wary of the intense look he was giving her. "You are most powerful of your companions." Cree shook her had not believing what this creature was saying. "In time you will come to see it."

Cree couldn't believe what he had just said. She had always been afraid of her powers. She had seen the damage they could do, and only used them in dire emergencies.

They all looked at Jordon who knew what was on everyone's mind. Millie was the first to ask the question. "What year are we in?"

"I'm not sure," Jordon said, "but it's the distant past. I remember Professor Hoo-too's lectures about ancient Sadians, and they dressed a lot like him."

"Yes, we are Sadian Hybrids," Suncerayer said. We are the heirs to the Sadians who crash landed on this planet more than 100 years ago." At Suncerayer's words a thought came to Jordon, something that Hoo-too-Pee told him when he was helping him with some historical research.

"Rea and Suncerayer?" Jordon said excitedly. "I know who you are now. You're Professor Hoo-too's great-great grandparents."

Now it was Suncerayer who looked at him curiously. He went from stunned to sheepish as his face became flushed with embarrassment.

"So we really are in the past," Denny said, looking very annoyed. "Great, genius. Now, how do we get home?"

"I-I don't know," Jordon said stuttering.

"Well, you just screwed us all," Denny said and threw his hands up in the air. At that moment he wanted nothing more than to kill Jordon for trapping them here, wherever here truly was.

"Come friends," Suncerayer said. "Commander Kie will want to meet you and a feast will follow."

Well, none of them expected that, but even though it seemed like they were getting the royal treatment, they all remained on their guard.

So our time travelers have landed in the past and are about to see the first Sadian settlement on Earth, Blue Haven. They need to be cautious because they didn't make the trip alone. Charlie Dike is lurking about somewhere and he is about to do the unthinkable.
