I was just hanging out with my girlfriend Jenny when she told me that her roommate, Annabeth, would have her boyfriend pick her up later today. I'll admit, I was curious. Jenny had told me about Annabeth's supposed boyfriend who everyone thought was fake.
So there I was, wondering what Annabeth's boyfriend would be like, when I saw a boy in a sea-green Porsche. I went up to him and asked who he was waiting for, and he answered the name I had least expected to come out of his mouth.
"Annabeth Chase."
It took a moment for the fact that I was talking to Annabeth's boyfriend to sink in. Then I said, "Annabeth was getting her stuff out of her locker, last I knew."
"Thanks. You know her well?"
"Yeah," I said. "I'm one of her friends. My girlfriend and her hand out a lot." I had a feeling that he would relax a bit at my girlfriend mention.
He smiled at me, and I saw why Annabeth liked him so much; he looked to be really funny, not the brightest, but kinda loyal.
"SEAWEED BRAIN!" Huh?
Percy looked back and saw Annabeth weaving through the crowd that had gathered because of him. He replied, "Hey, Anna. Are you ready to get blue cookies and go to that architecture place you've been wanting to go to?"
I figured that Annabeth would punch him for calling her Anna, but I was wrong. That liberty must go with the boyfriend thing.
They smiled at each other and kissed, oblivious to the crowd gasping that Percy had gotten away with calling Annabeth Anna and was now kissing her.
They finally pulled apart (I heard them gasping for breath- I felt too awakened to look) and Percy grinned before saying, "Let's hurry, my mom is making blue cookies!" Blue?
They got into Percy's Porsche and drove away, laughing.
Jenny came up to me and asked what Percy was like. "He was really awesome and cared a lot for Annabeth."
She smiled a wistful smile and I leaned forward and kissed her.
