I had my sights set on on girl- Annabeth Chase. Instead of being like those other guys who just ask her out without getting to know her at all. I thought that the boyfriend she talked about was fake, so I was going to ask her out today after school- I had known her for over three years now.

I am not someone that isn't very pretty- the opposite, actually. With brown hair and hazel eyes, I was the best looking person in school.

"Hey, Annabeth. Have you heard that there is a new guy in school?"

"I have heard that, actually. I was assigned to show him around. He's getting his schedule."

"I'm so sorry that you have to show someone new around. We're still hanging out after school, right?"

Our group of friends had planned on going to a nearby frozen yogurt place after school- where I would ask her out.

"I'm still going, but Percy, the new guy, has to come too. Are you okay with that?" Annabeth questioned.

"Yeah, as long as I get to meet him over lunch." I replied.

We aimlessly chattered until the new guy came out of the office. Then my heart broke.

"Come on, Seaweed Brain. Meet Justin, a friend," said Annabeth.

The Percy person came up and... kissed her. Not like a little peck, but a full out kissing session. Everyone in the hallway started to stare at them- the last person who tried to do anything with Annabeth ended up with a fractured arm. People backed off after that incident.

Kyle looked at me sympathetically, knowing that I was going to ask her out after school today. The warning bell rang, so I was too late to ask them about each other. I'll ask them during lunch.

I walked out of the English classroom, ready to interrogate Annabeth and Percy. He couldn't have known her longer than I have, right?

I got my lunch and sat down at my usual table where Annabeth and Percy were staring adoringly at each other. I sat down and interrupted their staring.

I waited until everyone was at the table before asking my questions I made during Study Hall.

"So how long have you two been dating?" I asked.

Percy replied, "We've been dating for over a year, and have known each other since we were twelve. You might not have seen her for a while last year because of a family issue we had in Greece, by the way. We would only go with each other." He smiled at Annabeth and received a peck on the lips.

So they've known each other longer than I have known Annabeth. They look like the picture of true love.

Just great.
