Annabeth frowned at herself in the mirror, Percy's chin resting on her shoulder and his arms looped around her waist. "You look gorgeous," he hummed, pressing a gently kiss to her neck.

Annabeth smiled, "You do too." She turned around to face him and rested her hands on his chest. She blushed, "I mean, you look handsome."

Percy smiled, "Thank you, Wide Girl."

Annabeth glanced over at the clock, "Oh, schist, I have to do my hair."

Percy hummed, "You just need to brush it."

Annabeth chuckled, "I'll pull it up, too. Go get the car turned on- it's probably cold because of the snow."

See, it had been snowing for the last few days. It was unfortunate, but they at least had a snow plow driving around. They were currently in San Fransisco, because Percy had come down to go to prom with her and stay for the weekend.

Annabeth eventually climbed into the car, having left Percy to sit there for a few minutes. "Sorry, I accidentally rubbed my eyes."

Percy chuckled and waited for her to get buckled before carefully pulling out of the driveway.

Ben.

I stood next to Elizabeth, my sister. She'd done my hair for me, making it look decent for once. She put my contacts in, too. Usually, I have the biggest glasses ever.

When Annabeth walked in, her fingers laced with a boy with dark hair's, I grinned. She spotted me and immediately started dragging the boy and herself towards me.

She was wearing a dress that only went to her knees. The top half of it was silver and the bottom was speckled with blue sparkles. Her eyes popped with the pitch-black mascara coating her eyelashes, and her eyelids were shimmering with sparkling gray eyeshadow. Her lips were just glossy, not any different in color.

Annabeth stopped in front of Elizabeth and I. "Hello, Ben." She grinned.

"Hey," I hummed. "You look nice," I noted.

The boy's eyes narrowed but he didn't say anything.

Pink dusted Annabeth's makeup-free cheeks. "Thank you." She paused, "Percy, this is my friend Ben. Ben, this is my boyfriend Percy."

I smiled, "Hi, Percy. I've heard a lot about you."

Percy blinked, "And I've heard nothing about you," he said slowly, watching my hand extend for a shake.

Annabeth elbowed him and he sighed, reaching out and shaking my hand. "It's nice to meet you," I said slowly.

Percy's stony expression didn't change, "Mm."

Annabeth exhaled slowly, "All right. You wanna go meet my other friends?"

A small smile appeared on Percy's face, "Yeah, let's go."

Elizabeth, who had stayed silent, finally spoke up. "Avoid her." She said, pointing to the popular girl clique.

"Ah," Percy grinned. "I'll try."

Elizabeth raised her eyebrows as they walked away, their fingers still laced tightly together. "He seems a little uptight."

I frowned, "Not really."

My phone dinged in my pocket.

Annabeth :P: Sorry about him. He's just been pretty upset lately. He got some bad news last week, and he's here for multiple reasons. I'll talk to you later :)

I frowned deeper but put my phone away again. "You want to go find Kayla and Michael?"

Elizabeth rolled her eyes, "I thought you'd never ask. Let's go."

Percy.

I continued to stay quiet for the most part, enjoying the feeling of Annabeth's fingers moving across my knuckles. She'd been staying close to me, not once moving more than a few feet away. Her friend, Ella, was beyond sweet. She knew exactly what was happening, and how it felt.

Annabeth had told her, and I honestly wasn't too upset about it. Ella understood, so I didn't feel like I had to block her out; she didn't even pry when Annabeth told her.

I looked at Annabeth when she said my name, "Hmm?"

"I have to use the restroom. Just stay with Ella." When she saw the look on my face she sighed, "I'll be right over there, okay?"

I nodded slowly and she pressed a quick kiss to my lips. "I'll be right back."

I let out a sigh as she walked away, glancing back at me. I looked over at Ella, who had her eyes glued to me. "What?"

"So, she died last week?" Ella inquired.

I flinched, "Yeah."

"Two years ago, March thirteenth." Ella said.

I bit my lip, "How did you get over it? Being a demigod and all?"

Ella was one of the few demigods who knew about themselves and survived without a Camp to go to.

Ella furrowed her eyebrows, "I mean, even though she was the only I had growing up, what she last said to me kept me going." She sighed, "It's hard to lose your mom, Percy. It hurt. The wound doesn't ever heal like it should."

I looked up at the ceiling, his eyes now burning. "She didn't deserve it. She was the one who always stuck by my side. I had an abusive stepdad, but she always took the hits and I didn't know." I paused to take a deep breath, "She never knew if I was still alive when I disappeared last year. She didn't know if her son was alive, and now I'm dealing with knowing she's gone."

Ella moistened her lips, "What was her name?"

"Sally Jackson," I said quietly.

"What was she like?"

"She was amazing. I was always greeted with some sort of blue breakfast in the morning- long story. I always knew she'd be there when I got home from school. I knew she'd never get mad at me for getting crappy grades. I never really thought she was that old, you know? Why did she get cancer so young? She wasn't even fifty."

Ella sighed as Annabeth approached them again, "Just know, Percy, she's proud of you right now. Hello again, Annabeth." She smiled.

I watched them for a moment, before feeling Annabeth's arms wrap around me. "Do you want to dance, Seaweed Brain?"

"Yeah," I murmured, pressing a quick kiss to her hair.
