Prologue

⚠️ Warning: Abuse, Drunkenness, Injuries and Death⚠️

Vivian walked next to the cliff, stars spotted the sky. She smiled seeing a familiar shadow gracing the cliff side.

She ran towards him, blue prom dress billowing in the wind. He may have left her stranded at the prom, but he probably hadn't meant to.

"What are you doing here." His voice sounded all wrong.

"You told me to meet you here." She was confused.

"Nope." He said, staggering.

"Yeah, you said Meet me at Venice Falls." Vivian was worried.

"Don't remember asking you Alice. I asked Vivian. But you're the hotter one anyway. Rather sleep with you. Again." He grabbed her wrist.

"What do you mean again. Babe, it's me, Vivian. You slept with my sister? Please tell me this isn't true." She touched the side of his face with her free hand.

He grunted. "Nothing to say. Truth is truth."

"My sister! I love you Vince! Why would you do this!" She tried to run away.

He gripped her wrist tighter. "Well now you know my secret."

"Vince, let me go." She cried out in pain.

"No." He staggered again.

Vivian took this opportunity to try to run away. She managed to free herself and made it five steps before she felt a shooting pain in her ankle. He twisted her ankle.

She fell down against the grass near the cliff face, she could hear the waterfall nearby roar. Vince approached her. She could see that he was drunk.

"Please Vince, you're drunk and dangerous. I won't tell anyone what you did, just leave, please." She pleaded.

"You won't, I'll make sure of that." Vince slapped her across her face.

She cried out in pain. He then gripped her by her hair and dragged her a few steps. He muttered and pulled out something shiny and sharp. He hacked off her hair and threw it on the ground. He pressed the knife against her neck. She sucked in a breath, as he pressed it harder and harder.

She felt blood dripping down her neck, pain blossomed where the knife was still placed.

He took the knife back and pulled her up by her arms.

"Move. Now." He kicked her and she yelped.

She attempted to stand on her left foot, the one he had twisted. She groaned in pain and hopped on her right foot. He pulled her forward, towards Venice Falls. She saw the roaring river, leading up to the cliffs face. The large hair like waterfall, and the slippery rocks, slick with water.

She watched the scene unfold like a movie. Her elbowing Vince in the leg, him, losing his footing in the rocks. His tight grip on her arm. The waterfall.

He fell, dragging her with him. Vivian was tumbling down the cliff side. Towards the forest below. Towards her small town of Sagewood. The yellow lights turning on as the town accepted it was night. Her last thought was I forgive you Alice.

Her body was tucked behind the waterfall, in a small cave. Never to be found.

Would anyone ever know, something so gruesome, happened somewhere so pretty.
