Flash Forward

So, as you know, Natasha retired from the Navy a few years after the Dagger Mission, but she retired as a Lieutenant Commander.

Some benefits still came from that position and occasionally she was asked back as a guest speaker when needed.

But she mainly worked with Emmett. While she didn't actually do any Ninja work, she had helped create a non-profit that worked with military families and communities to get connected with Ninja if they're interested.

It provided an outlet to them, resources to help if the kids were having trouble adjusting and a counselor if needed.

Emmett, while helping Natasha where she needed it, still kept his head with the gym.

He had so much fun helping kids learn and be active. Although all three of his kids loved it, none pursued it for the competition.

Genevieve did surprise them all, however, because while she didn't run, she did end up dating and eventually marrying someone who did. (Emmett took it hard, watching his little girl finally grow up.)

Their second daughter actually took after her uncle. Liam had taken them all out to surf, if they wanted to. It just so happened that she took to it more so than her siblings.

She was on track to become a top surfer, primed to follow her uncle and represent in an Olympic games.

Their son, being the baby and only boy, had also taken to the water, but he went more for the swimming.

And while he was very good, he didn't want to go for Olympic gold. He was content swimming just for fun and that's what he did.

The family of five had come a long way, always there to support each other.

After all, they had some of the best examples around.
