"What's this 'bout a quest?" Pan asked before we were all the way through the door.

THEY looked over at us. "Ah, I see you were able to make it." Mr. D said. "We will be sending you children on a quest. A quest to retrieve Faith's form. You all shall go confront Rumpleskiltsen."

"We're going on a quest!" Elli squealed. She and Faith stood by THEY. "Isn't it great? A quest."

THEY glance at each other awkwardly. "Erm, Elli," Mr. B began. "Perhaps you should go check how the patients at the infirmary are doing?"

"What?" Elli said.

"Well, you are too young to go on this quest."

Elli's mouth dropped. "Excuse me? I'm twelve!"

"Yes. Now, Faith, Pan and Medusa-"

"Wait. I have to go? But-but I just got here!" Medusa spoke out.

Dr. Steve smiled. "Well, what better way to prove yourself than a quest!"

"Hey!" Elli complained. "I've been here for a year and a half. I haven't gotten to prove myself!"

"Yes, well you are still recovering from the ah, incident. You cannot go."

Elli's face grew pale. "I- but, surely....

"I believe you know why you can't go. Enough said. I'm sorry." THEY looked sincerely sorry. Faith and Pan looked awkward and upset. Medusa wondered what happened that was so bad.

THEY turned away from Elli. "Now the rest of you, go get ready. Medusa. Pan and Faith have both met Stilsken. They are prepared. Are you?"

Medusa wanted to scream no. No she wasn't prepared. She had literally just gotten there an hour ago and she was going on a quest?! These creatures were crazy! Insane! Off the rocker!

She smiled a thin, forced smile. "Yes." She glanced at Elli. Her face was a pale green colour and her eyes had a faraway look of fear in them. Her hands were trembling as they clutched the basket.

"I'm gonna take Elli to her dorm." Faith said. "Come on, El." Elli took a deep breath.

"I'm fine."

"No. You're not. Let's go."

Elli reluctantly gave in, and followed Faith out of Headquarters.

"What was that about?" Medusa asked.

"Nothin." Pan said quickly. "Com'n. We have to go get ready."

Medusa was given new clothes and a bag with necessities for the quest. Pan and Faith helped her get ready. There was no sign of Elli.

"Now, Stilsken is a trickster." Pan explained. "He'll never fight one on one. Just uses illusions. And bets. That's how he got me shadow. Won it in a game."

"He'll also play mind games." Faith put in. "He got my form by tricking me. He acted like he was my friend. Gained my trust. Then bam, stole it.

"But enough of that. Just get some sleep. We leave early tomorrow."

Medusa went to bed, unaware of the girl, a floor above her, wide awake, a plan forming in her mind.
