FIVE YEARS LATER:

"Eww... I am not feeding you mice." Medusa said to the snakes in her hair. " I don't care how hungry you all are, eating mice is just plain out gross."

The snakes in her hair hissed angrily. "Oh shut up."

"Well that's a little rude, don't you think?" Said a voice. Medusa jumped back in alarm as a girl ( no older than 11 ) walked towards her. " I mean they're hungry aren't they?"

" Who are you?" Medusa asked quietly.

"I'm Elli. And you're Medusa. They sent me to find you, and they said I couldn't, but I said 'yes'. I mean, they had absolutely no faith in me- ooh, I have a friend named Faith. She has a Guinea pig named Donny Fart. And this one time-"

" Who is 'they'? Where did you come from?"

"The Hut" Elli answered. "It's a place for special people, who have been rejected by the world. I'm the youngest. And 'they' are they leaders. They've been watching you. Is it true you can stone people with your eyes? I can do a little bit of magic, nothing big. Faith is super talented though. Well, don't just stand there, come!"

Elli started walking away, brushing her strait long brown hair, off her shoulder.

"W-wait. I'm not just going to follow you!"

" Well," Elli began, " I suppose you can lead if you want, but you don't know the way-"

"Not what I meant! After the incident five years ago ...no, I'm not going anywhere. I don't know why I'm like this, I wasn't always."

"We can help you. Trust me. Please."

Medusa considered this; could this stranger really help her? And this place she spoke of, The Hut, were there others like her?

"Fine, I'll go. But if it's a trick, I'll take my glasses off, and stone you."

Elli smiled. "Good, I mean, scary, but good. Take my hand." Medusa did, and they began to spin, and the world around them dissolved.
