Chapter 8: Shocking Surprises
"What...?" Roby said as I finished telling him of what was on the hard drive. "You're saying that we were created long ago, and we met back when the first robots were around."
"B.O.T. was right," I said. "I don't know what else to say from that."
Roby rubbed the back of his neck and let out a long breath. I looked at his pressure meter, and it was slowly crawling higher and higher. I shook my head and tried to change the subject. I didn't want him to malfunction anytime soon if he was going to be as bad as he seemed back then.
"When did I start calling you Roby now?" I asked.
"Why are you asking?" he wondered looking to me confused.
"I'm just... curious."
"I think maybe when we first met. Here, not... where ever we were in the past."
"So when we both got into the M.E.C.H academy?"
"That seems so long ago, doesn't it?"
"It really does."
There was a long and awkward pause between us. We both looked away from each other to release that tension. Normally I would bust Roby's audio sensors out with my voice box, but now, I realize how much silence can be the worst thing to someone.
I then felt this beeping coming from my satellite, and it pounded like metal hitting concrete. I opened my hatch and felt around the area. I took out my hard drive to see if it would help, but it didn't. I tried to adjust the wire, yet nothing stopped the random beeps. I then began to see the Matrix on my screen. Was someone hacking into my software?
"Roby," I said while becoming dizzy.
His head spun towards me, and through all ones and zeros, I saw his facial expression become horrified. I fell to the ground, with my hand over my head, because of my sudden malfunction, and the entire world became a blur of sped up beeps and signals.
Error. Error.

Wait, I was shutting down?
"Android," Roby's voice came. "Wake up!"
The Matrix disappeared from my screen, and I woke up to Roby shaking me. He stopped and gave me a hug. I took deep, shaky breaths as I hugged him back. I nearly shut down, dormant against my own will. What is going on with me?
"What... happened," I asked while I felt my pressure pounding.
"I don't know," Roby replied. "Your lenses filled with the Matrix's code."
"What?! My lenses?"
"You were shutting down, weren't you?"
"I... I was. Against my power and control."
"I don't think putting that hard drive in you hatch was a good idea."
"It wasn't my hard drive. It was from my satellite. Someone was hacking into my files."
His lenses widened with shock. I glanced at his pressure meter, and it was going to the brink of making him crash. Oh gosh, what could I do to make him calm down in the situation we're in now? Think Andy, think! Ugh.
"The things we all do," a voice then came.
I turned around, and on the roof with us was Madam Silver, Sir CPU's assistant. She was a levitating robot. She had a pivot that floated over the magnetic ground of Mechtropolis with vast and thin shoulders that made a triangle to her sides. Her head was much like those scientist's from my vision: voice enhancers with more volume, light bags under her eyes, even her lenses looked similar.
"Well, well, well," she spoke again. "Looks like we have some robots with illegal downloads within her files."
Silver held up this tablet with images of coding. My lenses widened with realization. She followed us and hacked into my system. Wait, did she know of B.O.T., too?
"What do you want, Madam Silver?" I asked.
"Hand over those hard drives, Android!" she hissed. "If you don't, I'll have no choice but to do the following."
"Whatever you're going to do, I won't agree to it. This has something no one is speaking to us about, and we deserve to know."
"Suit yourself."
She typed something into her coding. When she confirmed it, Roby began to spark and crash. He fell to the ground as electricity went haywire through every circuit. I kneeled while trying to help, but the shocks were too much to bear.
"Okay, okay!" I screamed. "Just don't hurt Roby!"
He then stopped and began to breath in painful breaths. He looked to me with his lenses. They were full of regret. I pursed my voice enhancer and took Roby's hard drives from him. He put his hand over mine.
"Don't," he wheezed. "Let me shut down. You can't get rid of something that could be valuable."
"I have to, Roby," I whispered. "I can't risk losing you. You're the only person I trust."
I got up and grabbed my hard drives. I noticed writing on all of them. They were labeled in a vague style.
Introduction
Environment interaction
Rebellion?
The last one was more clear than the others, however. I took a glance at Madam Silver. Her lenses were determined and sharp. They weren't gonna let me get out of her grasp anytime soon. I clutched the hard drives, and suddenly, this file appeared on my screen.
"Come on, Android," Silver snapped. "I don't have all night. SIr CPU is waiting for me to get the job done."
I clicked on the file, and it showed this... blueprint of me. It showed labels on the parts of my body and what their function was. There was a part of my hatch that had this coding that could shut down anything I out my mind to.
I focused on Silver's tablet. Within seconds, a flash of bright light came to me, and I heard something drop to the ground. When the light subsided, I was on the ground of this building. Sitting next to me was B.O.T.
"That was some electric shock you shot," she said. "Don't worry, Android. You and your friend, Roboto Von Mech, are safe."
