day one of the winter break.
today, is just like any other ordinary day. i followed my daily routine and had breakfast. annie came over to my house to study. my family doesn't seem to have any plans this winter so I have to be stuck in this house for the rest nineteen days.
should i choose a new hobby to occupy myself with? it isn't snowing here and there's nothing good to capture in my polaroid camera so there won't be a new polaroid album for this winter. things don't seem to end well when I'm not occupied with something. I should have figured it out already. there will be nothing good without him...
i should stop here.
y/n, logging out!
you shut your journal and placed your black inked pen on the table as you placed the journal inside your desk cupboard. you put your fingers on both the ends of your lips, stretching it before practicing your smile and getting out of your room.
as you walked downstairs, you heard voices and squeals coming out of the living room.
curious, you rushed downstairs and entered the living room to find your mother talking on the phone with a loud voice and an enormous smile playing on her face while taehyung, your brother, bounced around the room with his unique boxy smile.
"what is all of this about?" you asked them with furrowed eyebrows.
"y/n, your grandma called! she told us she wants us to spend the vacation there!" she told you as she hung up the call and couldn't stop talking about how much your grandma wanted you all to spend the holidays there.
"isn't dad busy with his work...?" you stated the fact as you looked more confused than before.
"forget him! we're going to go there tonight on the ktx train! so pack your bags, kids, we're going to go to busan tonight!" she danced while calling her friends, ready to brag about it.
you remained there, clueless.
having a young mom with an open mind who never, ever, decided with a sincere mind made you more responsible for most of the household things than her. your mom was an easy-going woman who had a bright personality and was more in contact with her college friends than she was with your gossipy neighbours. she still lives life as if she is in her early twenties.
"and you have nothing to say, tae?" you glanced at taehyung who was as excited as your mother.
"nope! we are going to busan after like a decade! isn't it cool? gotta pack the bags!" like your mom, he too disappeared out of your sight with the same bubbly energy.
"like mother, like son." you let out a sarcastic laugh as you stood there, processing what had happened right now.
"i guess i'm the only sane one here." you huffed as you placed a hand on your forehead.
later that night, your dad came home and learned about your departure to busan. since you were closer to your dad, you couldn't stop worrying about him while he would be here by himself.
"dad, are you sure you can handle everything?" you asked him with an anxious look on your face.
"don't worry y/n, marrying your mom has taught me so many things that would come handy in life. like managing the house. i've done this before too, so don't worry about me. enjoy your holidays and i'll be there as soon as i finish my work." he placed his hand on your shoulder, assuring everything would be fine.
you both got into a warm hug. you snuggled in his chest while he rubbed your back in comfort.
"see! i told you he'll be fine! let's go y/n-ie, we are getting late for the train. bye honey!" your mom pushed the two of you out of the house while waving to her husband.
after getting on the train and putting your bags on the luggage rack, you messaged annie that you have to cancel your study sessions since you'd be away from your house for the holidays before keeping the phone in your pocket and leaning your head on the seat, waiting for the train to reach busan.
who knew that your life would take a turn as now, you were running back in your life, to your childhood.
a/n: hmm seems like fate has something in store for y/n.
