his mullet hairstyle was his charming point with which his raven hair always complemented. with every bounce in his step, his bangs bounced along. his smile looked ever so soothing, you would love to get his smile tattooed on your forehead. he was a ray of sunshine for you. he always brightened up your day with just his presence beside you. like the alpha waves, responsible for making you calm and relaxed, his soft giggles would rest your mind in rest. oh, the power he holds over you. how could you survive if he disappeared?

"after class, okay?" he said, making an okay sign along with a playful wink. with that, he passed by you, probably to his homeroom with those bouncy footsteps.

warmth rushed to your cheeks with his stupid tactics that he knew it worked on you. a smile so subtle placed on your face that you even failed to notice until a sound of tongue click interrupted you.

"you still get deceived by his stupid winks and that so called 'breathy voice'?" annie said with rolled eyes.

it didn't take you long to respond to her with a small pinch on her arm and giving her a "how could you" look.

"ow! ow! that hurts!" she whined while rubbing her pinched arm furiously.

"you deserved that. hurry up or else we're gonna get late for the class." you hissed as she sighed and fast-walked to your homeroom.

"laytuh!" she said in a peculiar british accent while waving her hands as you watched her go.
"and, enjoy your little date!" she winked before hopping away.

"hey!" you yelled at her as she rushed away from the scene, leaving you waiting at the school gate for your so called date alone.

with your fingers rubbing the strap of your bag, you looked at the sky to pass the time. the sky was a dull blue canvas with the clouds rejoicing together while the days got colder for the winters. blue. it looked so gloomy. why were the clouds rejoicing under such a gloomy shade of colour?

your hand reached out to your arm while giving gentle rubs as you found yourself taking steps back with a fear which was yet to be discovered. before you could get any further, you hit your back with someone.

a yelp escaped your lips with the unexpected presence as you turned back at the speed of lightning.

"what's the matter, little plushie?" standing in front of you, was the person you've been waiting for who stared at you with pikachu eyes.

"g-gyu!" you sighed in relief as you gripped his sleeves tightly.

"i'll get wrinkles on my school shirt but anything for you," he murmured with a pout as he patted your head and let you bury your head in his chest.

after a few minutes when you could feel your mind steady and calm, you lifted your head from his chest and loosened your grip from his sleeves. he held your arms, asking you to look at his eyes as he looked at you softly and asked, "did i scare you?"

"no, not you! not in a million years!" you scowled at him before continuing, "i just got lost in some weird thoughts and zoned out." you laughed awkwardly while looking down before your eyes fell on his wrinkled sleeves that was once ironed and neat. "oh no! i wrinkled your shirt!" you exclaimed while holding the shirt to get a better look at it.

"ahem," he hesitated as he slapped your hand away from his shirt. "i'm afraid i might get more wrinkles." he coughed as he looked up, avoiding your considerate eyes.

"wrinkled shirts aside, let's get onto what we met for before the sun sets?" you sniggered as he nodded.

"come on! can't we go on an arcade date instead of this boring café study? i'm tired of doing homeworks together!" he whined but stopped once others glared at him like he was a mad man.

"okay then go study alone. i bet you won't be able to finish," you teased with your tongue stuck out.

"evil," he muttered under his breath before digging his head in his book.

every five minutes, he would whine your name as he called you to his desk to ask you simple problems that even you knew he could solve. let's just say, he liked being taught by you or maybe, he liked playing with your hair.

"beomgyu, can you please stop playing with my hair?" you said for the nth time with a smile that never reached your eyes. no matter how polite your voice sounded, you calling out his name without any nicknames was a warning that you won't hold back to smack him if he didn't stop. he nodded as he took his hands off your hands with you giggling at his submissive side but only to tug his fingers in your hair again.

"nothing can stop me from patting my girlfriend's hair, ha!" he exlaimed before receiving a smack on his stomach.

when you walked out of the study café after finishing your homeworks, the sun was a shade of red with the sky now being a canvas of mixed bright colours. a subtle smile placed on your lips as you stared at the sky in relief you didn't know the reason for. like a background sound ruining the moment, beomgyu walked out after you while groaning and stretching his body.

"shall we get some coffee to celebrate the sunset's victory?" you heard beomgyu's voice by your side as you glanced at him with knitted eyebrows.

"what do you mean?"

"the way you're looking at it is the same as how you look at me. hmm, i've got some competition," he said before sliding a cup of boba in your hands. "i got you boba for refreshment!" he giggled as you patted his head like he was a loyal dog.

"what about you?" you eyed his hands that held another cup of boba.

"remember we're boba buddies?" he said while bringing his cup on show to you and shaking it.

you giggled as you grabbed his hand and he gripped on it while swinging your intertwined hands and started walking home while sipping your drinks. you talked about random things for the whole while as you watched the streetlights brightening up to light the busy roads with the sky bringing the moon on show.

as you entered the familiar neighbourhood, you tightened your grip on his hands with a frown. why were you feeling so nervous? you couldn't pinpoint this fear. for the past six months, it had never happened before.

"why now?" you blurted out as you glared at the road.

"i knew something's troubling you," he said while keeping all his focus on you. your pace slowed, you could feel his eyes on you and you felt more anxious.

you sighed. "there's a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach." you sighed again. "i don't want you to go. no." you huffed, feeling your body get heavier and your breaths getting slower as you felt your brain clogged with water.

"hey plushie, i'm not going anywhere okay? i'm here, right before you," he said as he stopped, placing his free hand on your cheek to get a better look at you.

you stared at him for a while before frowning. "but, i don't want to go." you looked to your side to see yourselves standing beside your house.

he giggled as he withdrew his hand from your cheeks. "that, we can't prevent. i can give you a free guitar lesson for the time we wasted at the café today though." he smiled as he took a few steps back before you could hit his arm.

"whatever." you gagged. before you could turn back and enter your house, you looked at him with wide eyes. "and yeah!" you exclaimed as if you remembered something. you took little steps closer to him as you held his shoulders and jumped to his height to give a light peck on his cheek. "see you tomorrow!" you giggled as you ran inside the house.

if not now, then sometime later, something bad will happen. you could feel it. and that was what scared you.
