jimin sat near the counter of the cafe with his hands resting on his chin as he stared at the customers enjoying their food with pure bliss. his lips brought out a tight smile while he watched them but he had no reason to smile today.
and just like the past few days, today wasn't his day.
"jimin-ssi, you look sad. let's play a round of overwatch after our shift ends." jungkook, who was behind the counter, in charge of billing, spoke.
"i'm not in the mood, kook." the blonde haired guy told him while rolling his eyes.
"you're still not over that bitch?"
jimin removed his hands from his chin, as he looked at him with squinted eyes and a disgusted face.
"stop calling her a bitch. it was my fault for making her bored." he rolled his eyes before burying his face in his arms and laying his head on the desk.
"was it your fault for making her bored or was it just her who found a better looking man and dumped you within a week? i'm telling you, stop dating different girls every week. these hoes are only swooning over your looks and just want to brag for having a 'perfect' boyfriend." jungkook said with a sassy voice, heaving a sigh.
to that, jimin only responded with a hum and dug his eyes into the wooden walls of the cafe as if they were the most interesting thing he had ever seen.
"enough of it hyung, looks like we got a new customer. go, do your job." jungkook told him and got back to his work.
on hearing what jungkook said, jimin's gaze shifted to the entrance door, he saw a blurred figure of a young girl through the glass door who stood at the entrance for a while and opened the door after taking a deep breath.
once you stepped inside the cafe and allowed him to get a more vivid look at you, he felt his breath being taken away as his eyes widened in amuse.
he looked at you as you walked in with a bright smile on your face, big enough to make the room warmer and made your way to the seat near the windows. you pulled yourself a chair, and sat with one leg on top of another and flipped on the pages of the menu.
it was like a sudden moment wherein he felt his attention on you and solely you. it was for the first time when he felt like you were his match. but the question was, was it another love at first sight for him?
shaking his head, he snapped back into reality and fixed his black snapback with the logo of the cafe on it and took the notepad and pen before fixing his t-shirt and making his way towards you with a tight smile and a thumping heart.
"good morning ma'am, what would you like to order?" he asked once he stood beside you.
you looked at him, your eyes widening for a millisecond before your lips curved up to a smile once you recognised him to be the café barista.
"i'd like to order one bubble tea and... a black forest pastry." you ordered while looking at him and glanced at the name tag on his shirt once you finished saying your order which said 'park jimin'.
he passed you a small smile which made the corner of his eyes wrinkle up, reminding you of annie, and bowed before going back to the kitchen.
it would be too fast to say, but you liked him. you didn't know whether it was because of his innocent eye smile or the way he greeted you with his silky voice but you liked him.
by the time he came back with your order, you took in your surroundings as you looked at the people in the small cafe. they were enjoying their time here to the fullest. with the barn light lamps that lit up the cafe dimly, they were perfectly paired with the wooden walls on which black boards with doodles and quotations were hung. at the window sill sat small pots of plants who faced the outside, staring at the lively roads. you noted to yourself to ask grandma about the little buddies later on.
as your eyes roamed to every corner of the room, you noticed your grandma standing by the counter looking at you with a smile along with a young man around your age glancing at her before looking at you and smiling shyly. taking the hint that your grandma introduced you to him, you returned the small smile before turning to your side and finding the barista back with your food.
he placed your order on the table gently before clearing his throat and appearing as if he was debating with himself upon something. after a few seconds, he revealed a folded tissue from his fists and slid it near your bubble tea and eyeing you before going back to the counter.
confused, you took the tissue in your hands, unfolding it while sipping on your bubble tea.
and once you opened it, you saw a message written on it with scribbled handwriting as if the one who wrote was in a hurry.
'wanna grab some more bubble tea and black forest after my shift?'
you laughed and looked back at him whose brows raised with hope once he found you staring at him.
maybe his day wasn't as bad as he thought it would be.
