Ibrahim Yousuf
He was getting late for his University, as today was his first day. Danish was not doing any thing to help him. He was being lazy to even get up from his place.
Ibrahim was so frustated that he started to throw things here and there. "Danish, where are the car keys? We are getting late. I will not spare you, if I won't find it." He yelled in frustation.
"Stupid! You idiot! Why are you shouting? Check it in your cupboard or drawers." Danish yelled back.
Danish is his best friend. They are brothers by choice not by blood.
They live together. Ibrahim's parents are usually out of town. They are in Dubai for some business matters right now. So Danish and he live together.
"I found out!" Ibrahim yelled. That's how they talk usually by yelling at each other.
Danish cooks delicious. He had to cook breakfast for both whereas Ibrahim had to cook dinner for both. They both help each other in their work and so do in ever matter.
They did breakfast and grabbed car keys, and went off to their University. Ibrahim didn't know what was about to come in his way. Life was playing a game with him.
Warm breeze was brushing his face as he was driving in a full speed. They both were missing there college days, and were hoping to get that enjoyment here too. That fame, popularity and all those things which interests them, although they are religious but they can't stop living their life to fullest.
Silence is not in Ibrahim's dictionary so he asked breaking the silence. "Do you have any freaking idea what will happen?"
Danish was all chill not like his friend who was thinking over stupid things. He was looking at Ibrahim as he had eaten a poisonous thing. Danish who had been a jerk snapped his fingers in front of him and pointed his finger at him.
"You? He continued "you are scared? The great Ibrahim is scared? Are you freaking insane?"
"No I'm not scared. I'm just thinking what will happen." He said keeping his eyes on his way.
"IBRAHIM! YOU WERE THE COOLEST GUY OF COLLEGE, AND WILL BE IN UNIVERSITY. IF ALLAH'S WILL. And you are asking that what will happen in the university. Chill man!! Everything will be okay."
Ibrahim relaxed a bit by his friends assuring words. No one can part them. If anyone will do they'll end up together again. They both are imperfect but find perfection in each other.
Finally their destination came and they hoped out of the car, straightening their collar and shirt they entered. What they saw was unbelievable at the first day. A group of guys were fighting like wild animals and yelling at each other. Seemed like they would kill each other at any passing second.
He had a feeling at the pit of his stomach that something will happen. He couldn't estimate, but there was a tiny alarm ringing in his head. He ignored that feeling and went to principals office.
When he was about to knock the door, he heard a low yet sweet as sugar voice coming from inside. He peeked inside carefully and saw a petite figure of a girl with her head bowed. She was looking so innocent, he wanted her to acknowledge someone is staring at her but she was so immersed in her thoughts that she didn't and passed by him.
Principal spoke loudly when she was near the door. "Huria! Don't forget your room no is written on that piece of paper." She said in soft, sweet tone. "Yes Sir!"
Her voice was so soft. It was like a melody to his ears. He quickly turned his gaze to the principal, who was watching his every single step. Ignoring his scrutinising gaze he asked. "May I take a seat!"
Principal quickly replied. "Please!"
He informed everything to principle about himself and asked him to give him his schedule. When he was done with everything. Thought of that innocent girl roamed around his head. He wanted to know her and the reason of her silence but all he could do was wait. Wait until he will meet her.
Huria Shehzad
It's been a year since her parents left her and fatima. She knew that they are in better place now, but she couldn't stop missing them. Aunty didn't turn out like a woman she thought of, aunty was cruel and nice for few months.
She never wanted to see her rage but she did once, when she refused to do her work and aunty didn't give her food to teach her a lesson for disobeying her. It seemed like she is a burden on her shoulders.
Aunty suggested her something good for the first time and she was thankful to her for that she suggested her to take admission in University this way she would not get bored and will complete her studies too. She was super excited.
Aunty would be in Newyork for some business matters. So Huria would have some mind peace and freedom, didn't know for how long.
She was feeling ecstasy for joining University. It was her dream which was finally coming true. She wished that her family would be there to bless her and shower her with love but nonetheless she can't share her happiness except for her own self. She wished herself a good luck and went upstairs to get some sleep.
Seemed like sleep was far away from her. Fresh tears roll down her cheeks and again she was weeping. She hugged her pillow tightly so that it can comfort her but pillow was nothing as compared to her dady's big figure, and his soothing voice. The way he always said "Ssshhh honey! It will be okay. I promise you!" That was like a melody to her ears. She missed them. He always fulfilled his promises.
"This all hurts soo much. I don't have my parents. I have to be strong for fatima and myself. She is so young to endure all this and to fight her enemies alone. I have to protect her." While pecking fatima's forehead she murmured.
She drifted off while sending love to his family and praying for their forgiveness.
~~~~~~~
Scorching beams of sunlight was illuminating the room. She winced in pain as she rubbed her raw eyes. She picked her side mirror to see her reflection and was shocked to see her puffy eyes.
When she glanced at the watch there was still an hour left to go. She made breakfast that was pancakes and an orange juice. She gulped orange juice in a second coz she was very thirsty and while munching pancakes. She remembered what her mom used to say every time.
"Hur, you should do your breakfast before going to college. It's not healthy to go with empty stomach."
But she being a stubborn child never agreed to eat in morning. But she can't show her mood swings her feisty nature to her aunt. Otherwise she will through her out of the house without shelter. No one was there to make her laugh or cracking lame jokes. All she could do was eat, read and sleep. Sometimes she laugh on her own condition.
Rafia was her best friend, they did so many things together. Despise of their fights they were happy and unseperable and Hamza well he was the best guy she had ever seen. Her bro she missed him alot.
No one was there to love her. To see her tears. She always had to watch fatima playing but she couldn't do anything except staring at the wall or curtains. She thought loneliness has become her best friend. It will never leave her.
She was not in a mood to talk to aunty so she ignored her calling and walked slowly heading towards the stairs to her room most probably. Well as Aunty was nothing but a pain and stubborn as hell stopped her by grabbing her arm harshly and said in anger
"Why the hell you aren't listening that I am calling you!" she lied because she didn't want her to get furrowed more "Because, I am having a killing headache. I couldn't hear you out, sorry!"
"Well....listen carefully, i have made a decision." Aunty said while leaving her arm.
"I am all ears." She sighed and told her to speak, while rubbing the sore part of her arm.
"Are you going to University or not? Well you should go, because I am sending your Lil sister to Orphanage. I can't take care of her. I am going today at night to Newyork for some business. So you two better not become the hindrance between my work." She said through gritted teeth.
She was the heartless women she had ever seen in her life. Her words were like poison to her ear. A woman full of venom.
She said softly, but anger was boiling inside, which she thought was clearly visible. "But Aunty, fatima can stay with me at this house. What's your problem? Why do you hate us too much. What have we done to you. Please! Aunty. We won't become the hindrance, dont separate us."
She almost begged her.
She felt the urge to breakdown at that moment. But she couldn't show her weakness infront of cold hearted woman. How Aunty could made decision like that. How can she seperate her from her sister. She wish she could smack her aunt's head on the wall, but she refrain herself from doing anything.
Aunty yelled in anger. "You worthless little girl wants to argue with me. No one ever dare to question me. I will not change my decision, and one more thing you can have the custody of your sister and yours father's inheritance after turning eighteen. But you are still 17, Poor girl. It's better you agree with my decision. It's better for you not me."
By listening her ruthless statement her jaw dropped, she couldn't live without her. She was her only family. She was losing control, she wanted to strangle her to death so she couldn't make any decision regarding others life. There was lump in her throat but she gulped it down. She controlled every single emotion which were flooding in her eyes.
She nodded at her in agreement and went straight to her room. Sobbing she fell down and fatima saw her broken state so she came and hugged her. Fatima who was so naive, so innocent to face all this spoke in her sweet voice.
"Why are you crying? I will punch that person who made you cry. Just tell me!" With that she rolled her sleeves and balled her tiny fists in anger.
She giggled as fatima spoke, those words relaxed her a bit and she pulled her on her lap, kissing her bubbly round cheeks she said "Ohhh my little sister is now grown up huh! My partner! You know, you are so sweet. I love you so much. Well! I want to tell you something." With a heavy sigh she said.
"Fati baby! Aunty is sending you to the orphanage. I don't know what's the problem with her. I hate her. Why did she adopted us, when she can't handle us. I am sorry! I am sorry! I can't stop her from sending you." Huria said apologetically.
"Hahaha! Api, please don't cry. Aunty informed me about this last night. I know you don't want me to go, but I don't have any other choice. Besides you have to go your university, and aunty is going out of the country. And I want to go to school, so I can take care of myself. I'm a big girl now. After all, its only for one year. After that I'll come on a horse to take you. We will be together." She said proudly and wiped my tears.
Fatima is a bubbly kid. She is brave and have a power to make people happy around her.
"But I tried to argue but all in vain." Fatima shush her by keeping her tiny hand on her mouth. "Api, only fifteen minutes left. You are getting late. Get up! You haven't decided your clothes yet." She said in panic.
She got up too quickly that feeling of nausea hit her for a second. Just great! Fatima and her words. She had to dress up quickly.
She grabbed a lose knee length purple colour shirt with jeans and ran to the bathroom. After about five mins she came. She had only ten mins left. Thanks to aunty for wasting her leisure time. She rushed to her dressing table and quickly applied some concealer to hide her puffiness. And applied baby lips so that her lips wouldn't look pale anymore.
She took her bag, Wrapping a polka dot scarf around her head, she ran downstairs. She waved her hand towards aunty and told her about the confirmation. "Allahafiz Aunty! And I totally agreed what you suggest. Take care!"
Aunty didn't even look at her direction and was making weird faces. Well she really don't care what she thinks.
She quickly rushed to the stop, waiting for the bus. After two mins bus came. Thank God!
The bus, stopped at another stop and she walked to University.
The gates of Uni was infront of her eyes. She thought her life was like a roller coaster, so ups and downs and so many turns to reach the destination. She entered and what she saw was unbelievable. Their was a group of guys yelling at each other. They were on each others throat. It seemed like one of them would die. Well ignoring them she went to principal office. She knocked at the door. Someone said in a commanding voice. "Come in!"
She slowly opened the door and went in. There he was sitting with one leg overlapping other.
She greeted him in a respectful manner. "Assalam o alikum! Sir, I am Huria Shehzad. My parents died in an accident a year ago and I want to know, if there is some place available for me in the girls hostel. I would be thank ful to you if you can help me."
Principal was soft towards her. She didn't know the reason. "Huria! I am sorry for your Loss. But there is no place available. All rooms are filled. Sorry! I wish I could help you." He said apologetically.
She became hopeless. The only hope was being crushed. She couldn't stay alone at Aunty's house. Well then she didn't have any other choice. She had to stay at her home.
Why her life is like this? So much to suffer. She had spent one year all alone without her family and friends. Now one year without fati.
"No no sir, it's really ok. I will manage it by my own. Thank you for this much concern. I'll see you later. Have a nice day." She said with a tight lipped smile, but her heart was burning deep down inside of being alone in that house without fatima.
Principal handed her schedule and a piece of paper in which her class number was written. She rose to her feet with her head bowed. But then she heard a knock and then the door slowly opened. There was a boy, he came in. And stood there as if he had seen something unusual or weird.
She felt his gaze on her. Suddenly aware of his gaze, she became self-conscious. She walked towards the door with her head down. She didn't want to see who he was, but then principal said loudly. "Huria, Don't forget your room no is written on that piece of paper."
"Yes Sir!" She said softly.
With that reply she went outside.
While finding her first class. She bumped into someone. Which made her fall back and she got contact with a ground, hissing in pain she looked upwards, she saw a beautiful girl of her age sending her an apologetical look.
"I'm sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you." That girl offered her hand. She quickly accepted her offer. She helped her to stand up. "Are you hurt?" That girl asked eyeing Huria up and down.
"A little." She said with smile.
"Well! My name is Ainah Rehman. and yours?" She said while extending her hands towards her to shake. "My name is Huria Shehzad. You can call me 'Hur' if you want to." Shaking hands with her she replied.
"Friends?" Ainah asked.
"Yeah friends" she replied with a smile etched on her face.
