TWENTY NINE. secret's out.

Selena's eyes fluttered open as she surveyed the room. Her gaze fell upon Eugenia, peacefully asleep with her head nestled against her chest.

With a gentle kiss on Eugenia's cheek, Selena attempted to rouse her from slumber. However, Eugenia remained undisturbed, lost in her dreams.

Chewing on her lip, Selena swung her legs over the edge of the bed and planted her feet on the cool floor. Determined, she made her way towards the closet.

Grabbing a jacket to shield her body from the chill, Selena closed the closet door behind her. Before leaving, she scribbled a heartfelt note for Eugenia and placed it where she would surely find it.

Her eyes drifted towards her finger, where her ring sat proudly. A wide smile spread across her face.

Selena gracefully stepped into the building, ensuring to close the door behind her. With a purposeful stride, she made her way to the room where her meeting awaited, after successfully concluding the meeting, bid them farewell and embarked on her next adventure.

Arriving at the apartment, Selena eagerly reunited with her friends for a delightful lunch and shopping. Laughter filled the air as they shared stories and caught up on each other's lives.

As the group made their way into the elevator, Selena leaned back against the wall, savoring the brief moment of relaxation. Capturing the joyous occasion, she skillfully snapped a picture of the four of them, immortalizing the memory with her trusty phone.

As she gazed down at her ring, a smile spread across her face. Her mother, noticing her excitement, couldn't help but look at the ring on her daughter's hand.

"Is that from Abel?" She asked.

"No, it's not," She replied.

"I know who it's from." Theresa chimed in with a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"Who's the lucky person?" Mandy asked.

"It's actually from my girlfriend," she revealed.

"Congratulations!" Mandy exclaimed.

"Thank you," She replied.

"You're welcome, sweetie," She responded.

With joy in her heart, she watched as her mother posted the selfie on Instagram. Selena nervously chewed her lip as the doors opened, ready to spend the rest of the day together after she filmed earlier.

The next day, she jumped out of bed, eager to start the day. Grabbing her jacket, she swiftly made her way out of the apartment.

Walking down the sidewalk, she clutched her purse tightly, heading towards the entrance of the church. She walked inside.

Upon entering the building, she quickly located a comfortable seat to settle down on. As the pastor began speaking, she attentively listened to his words, finding solace in the message.

After the service, she warmly greeted fellow members, exchanging pleasantries and kind words. However, her heart yearned to meet up with her beloved cousin Priscilla and her adorable godson, Aiden, her fiancé Jay.

A wide smile adorned her face as she scooped Aiden up in her arms, showering him with affectionate kisses on his rosy cheek before gently placing him back on the ground.

Taking a moment to survey her surroundings, she found a sturdy rock to sit on, her lips nervously chewed in contemplation.  Not far away, Priscilla sat on another rock, their gazes meeting with a shared understanding.

With a renewed sense of joy, she gazed ahead, her eyes filled with anticipation. Aiden, captivated by the beauty of the nearby lake, stared at it with wide-eyed wonder, his innocent curiosity shining through.

Little did she know, her cousin's fiancé Jay was capturing the moment with a photograph.
Running her hand through her hair, a small smile played on her lips and glanced at her cousin, her hand resting on her face as they both admired the breathtaking view.

Her heart filled with joy as she smiled at the picturesque scene before her. This moment was priceless, and she wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Selena mentally captured the image in her mind, wanting to remember this moment forever. Her wide smile reflected the happiness she felt deep within.

Standing up from the rock, she reached out to hold Aiden once more. Planting a gentle kiss on his cheek, she settled him down next to her cousin, cherishing the bond they shared.

Her outstretched left hand caught her cousin's attention, and she couldn't help but notice her eyes fixated on the ring on her finger. She smiled.

"What's that on your left hand, Sel?" She inquired.

"Oh, just this old thing. I'm getting married again," Selena replied.

"Wow, Abel is a really lucky guy then." She said.

"Yeah, he's the best." Selena said, nervously rubbing her neck.

She decided to keep her engagement a secret for now, hoping the press wouldn't find out until she was ready to go public with her relationship with her ex-wife, Eugenia. As her cousin kissed her fiancé Jay and stood up off the rock, Selena smiled and followed her to the car, ready to film the next day.

Selena headed to her trailer. She worked on music for a bit before continuing to film.

She finished filming and left the set. She headed home catching up with her friends and went to bed.

The next day was standing in the front yard with her godson Aiden and cousin. She saw him looking at his shadow.

She flashed a smile and rubbed her arms, feeling a slight chill from the weather. As she glanced around, she noticed Priscilla capturing a picture of them.

"Is it a good one?" She inquired with curiosity.

"Let me show you the picture," Priscilla responded, walking over to join them.

With a grin on her face, proudly displayed the photo she had taken. As she ran a hand through her hair, her mind drifted back to the moment she had accepted the proposal.

She couldn't help but wonder why she had initially hesitated to get married again, especially after the downfall of her previous marriage, which she had caused by betraying their vows. She looked at her and bit her lip.

"Are you okay?" She asked, sensing her cousin's contemplation.

"I am engaged, but it's not from who you probably think it's from," Selena replied, her voice filled with a mix of emotions.

"Is it from her?" Priscilla asked, her curiosity piqued.

"Yeah, she asked me two days ago. I didn't accept when Eugenia first proposed to me," She explained.

"Maybe you're scared about the possibility of getting married for the second time?" Priscilla suggested, cradling her son on her lap.

"I was scared. I didn't think I could after the divorce, especially since I was the one who proposed and ultimately ruined my marriage by having an affair," She confessed, her voice tinged with regret.

"Just take things slower. Now, at least you could move in together if you haven't already," Priscilla advised, offering a comforting presence.

"She asked me, which led us to get into a fight over us moving in," Selena explained, her tone filled with frustration.

"Did you give her an answer?" Priscilla inquired, concerned.

"No, I kinda forgot because I've been busy with filming lately. I've been really busy," She said, sighed, feeling overwhelmed by her hectic schedule.

"Oh," She said, her voice barely audible.

As she gazed at her, a smile spread across her face. She twiddled her fingers playfully.

"Shall we head back to the house now?" Selena suggested, beaming.

Closing the door behind her, she scooped up her godson once again and made her way inside. Selena took a seat on the couch beside cousin Priscilla.

Priscilla playfully booped her son's nose, causing him to giggle softly. She chuckled and shook her head, observing her cousin and her godson Aiden.

Suddenly, she heard her phone ring and quickly got up from the couch. Making her way to the kitchen, she pressed it against her ear to answer the call.

"Hello?" She greeted.

"Hi Selena," Abel's voice came through.

"Hey there," Selena responded.

"I saw the article," He stated.

"Wait, really?" She exclaimed.

"Yup, I wanted to let you know that I'm going to ask my management to cancel the agreement," Abel explained.

Selena's heart raced at his confession. She felt grateful to have a boyfriend like him and couldn't help but smile.

"Wow, seriously?" She asked, her voice filled with excitement.

"I want you to be happy, that's all. I just wanted to congratulate you on your engagement," Abel commented.

"Thank you. Wait a sec, how did you hear about it? I haven't told many people yet," She inquired.

"You're welcome. I saw the ring and knew it was from her. I'll see you around," Abel replied before hanging up.

"Bye," Selena said, ending the call.

She closed her phone and placed it in her purse. Returning to the couch, she sat down next to her cousin.

"Who was that?" Priscilla asked.

"My boyfriend, now ex," She responded.

"I'm sorry," She sympathized.

"It's totally fine," She assured her.

"Are you sure?" Priscilla pressed her.

"Yeah, I'm sure," She replied confidently.

She stood up, heading to the kitchen to prepare some food. Gathering her belongings, she made her way to the front door.

"Sel, leaving already?" Priscilla questioned.

"Yeah, I love you," Selena replied.

"I love you too. Drive safely," She said.

"I will!" She exclaimed, leaving the house.

After enjoying a delightful dinner, she made her way back home. She had spent the evening at a restaurant, savoring delicious food and great company with her friends.

The day was at the park with them once again. She smiled softly.

As she spotted her godson running towards her, a wide smile spread across her face. He was a bundle of energy, his laughter echoing through the park.

In a playful manner, she scooped him up in her arms, showering him with affection. His giggles filled the air as she spun him around, their bond evident in the way they interacted.

With a tender gesture, she planted a loving kiss on his lips, expressing the deep bond they shared. It was a gesture of love and protection, a reminder that she would always be there for him.

As she held him close, she couldn't help but feel a surge of love and warmth envelop her. Being a godmother was a role she cherished, and moments like these reminded her of the immense joy it brought to her life.

With a gentle smile, she pulled her hand away from his. She helped Aiden down from the wall.

With a gentle smile, she gracefully brushed her hand through her hair. Her eyes briefly met Jay, her cousin's fiancé, as she watched them, and a smile formed on her lips.

She had played a significant role in their engagement, celebrating the night away at the lively bar, sipping drinks and dancing with joy. She confided in her about rekindling her relationship with Eugenia, grateful for their unwavering support.

"Sel, she informed me about your engagement. I wanted to personally congratulate you. I'm genuinely thrilled for you," He expressed.

"Thank you so much. Please keep it between us," She replied, her voice filled with gratitude.

"You're welcome. I would never betray your trust," He assured her.

"I truly appreciate that. I can't wait to marry her once again," She eagerly shared.

"Wait, what?" He asked, confused.

"She didn't mention it to you, did she?" She asked.

"No, she didn't tell me," Jay replied, raising his voice a little to be heard by his fiancé.

"I'm actually engaged to my ex-wife," She revealed.

"Wow, that's really interesting," He responded.

"I didn't feel like it was my place to tell him," Priscilla confessed to her cousin.

"It's okay, I'm not upset," Selena reassured her.

"Good to hear," Priscilla said with a smile.

He glanced at the ring on her finger once more, and she held her hand up to show it off. He smiled, pursing his lips together, while she turned her attention to her godson and had some fun.

They decided to head back home before going to Texas, spending some quality time together at the house. She returned to her apartment and went to bed, falling asleep quickly.
