THIRTY THREE. secret. (finale.)
As the night fell, Selena stood up from the couch and headed towards her bedroom to get ready for bed. She changed into her pajamas and slipped under the covers, hoping to fall asleep quickly.
The next morning, Selena woke up feeling refreshed and ready for the day ahead. She got out of bed and walked out of the bedroom to make herself some breakfast.
After finishing her meal, Selena got dressed and headed to the church for a conference. As she entered the building, she felt a sense of excitement and anticipation.
Throughout the conference, Selena listened intently to the speakers and applauded them when they finished. When it was her turn to speak, she felt nervous but determined.
She shared her personal struggles and how her faith had helped her overcome them. The audience listened attentively, and Selena felt proud of herself for speaking up.
She exited the building, phone in hand, and observed the bustling crowd. She proceeded towards her car and climbed inside, gazing out the window.
Exiting the building, Selena beamed as she stowed her phone away. She made her way to the couch, running her fingers through her hair, stood up, she nibbled on her lip.
Entering the bedroom, she sat on the bed and exhaled deeply. She stretched out, closing her eyes and drifting off to sleep and went to church.
Selena strode into the building and took a seat on the stage. She delivered her speech on faith and journey, holding back tears.
Finding a spot in the front row, she sang along to the band's tunes. As the performance ended, she smiled and tapped her feet and left the service.
After changing in the bedroom and went to the living room. She saw Theresa and Ashley watching TV.
"Do you want to grab some coffee?" She asked.
"I'm totally up for it," She responded.
She strolled past swiftly snatching her keys from the counter. She followed Theresa and Ashley to the car.
As she drove, she couldn't help but glance at her engagement ring, her gaze fixed on the road ahead. Exiting the car, she entered the building and joined the line to order their drinks.
She shifted from side to side, tapping her feet impatiently. After a few minutes, spotted the barista approaching with their beverages in hand.
"An iced tea for Selena and carmel latte," He called out.
"Those are mine," She exclaimed, a smile spreading across her face.
"Have a great day," He said.
"You too," She replied, grabbing the drinks and making her way outside.
Slipping into the passenger seat, she closed the door and settled into her seat. With a smile, watched as Ashley drove.
"Hey Selena, mind if I ask you something?" Ashley inquired, her curiosity piqued.
"Of course not, what's on your mind?" Selena replied, her eyes sparkling with interest.
"I couldn't help but notice that you and Eugenia seem to be getting pretty close lately. What's the deal with you two?" Ashley probed, unable to contain her excitement.
"We're still engaged, but that's all it is. He's just a friend, nothing more." She said quickly.
"I'm so happy to hear that. You deserve to be happy, and I hope things work out for you two this time around." Ashley said, breathing a sign of relief.
"I couldn't agree more. Being engaged again feels amazing. It's such a wonderful feeling to have someone to come home to." She said.
As they continued their conversation, Selena couldn't help but grin from ear to ear, pushing her sunglasses up to cover her eyes. It was clear that she was truly content with her life and the people in it.
Selena's face lit up with a smile as she gazed out at the road. She took a sip of her refreshing iced tea, her eyes fixed on the passing scenery while Ashley skillfully drove.
They arrived at their house and Selena felt a sense of contentment as she pulled into the front driveway. Stepping out of the car, made her way towards the front door, eager to enter the comfort of their home.
As she stepped inside, the door closed behind her with a satisfying click. Selena found herself in the familiar surroundings of their house, and she settled down at the kitchen table, everyone else scattered to different parts of the house, either to the living room or their respective rooms.
Feeling a mix of emotions, Selena let out a shaky breath, running her hand through her hair. Her grip tightened on the edge of the table as she chewed on her lip and absentmindedly played with her ring.
For a brief moment, she closed her eyes, shutting out the world, and then opened them again. With a smile gracing her features, she licked her lips and stood up from the chair, taking another sip of her tea as she looked around the room.
Finishing her tea, Selena discarded the empty cup into the trash. She made her way to the bedroom, settling herself on the bed.
She made a spontaneous decision to reach out to someone she hadn't spoken to in a while. Taking a deep breath, she anxiously awaited their response.
"Hello?" The voice on the other end answered.
"Hey, I really want to see you today," She exclaimed.
"Seriously?" The person questioned, surprised by her sudden request.
"I'm dead serious. Let's meet at our usual spot at six," She stated firmly.
"I'll see you then," They replied.
"Bye," She said, ending the call abruptly.
Putting her phone in her purse and closing it, she headed towards the shower. After washing and rinsing her body, she stepped out and wrapped a towel around herself.
Making her way to her room, she searched for the perfect outfit to wear. Once she found it, she quickly got dressed and grabbed a bite to eat.
As she waited for time to pass, she glanced at the clock, eagerly anticipating the moment to leave. Reaching over, she grabbed her bag from the kitchen counter and left with a wide grin on her face.
"Bye, guys! I'm going out for a while. Love you all!" She shouted.
"Bye! We love you too!" Theresa and Ashley called back.
She walked towards her car. She hopped into the driver's seat.
She cruised down the street, a smile playing on her lips. Her focus remained solely on the road ahead, determined to make this encounter better than their last.
As she pulled into the parking lot, she brought the car to a stop and stepped out, clutching her bag tightly. Locking the car, she made her way into the building, her eyes scanning the area, at a table, was the person she had been eagerly anticipating.
With a smile curling her lips, she approached the table, clearing her throat to catch their attention. Taking a seat across from them, she placed her purse on the floor, never taking her eyes off them.
"Hey there," The person greeted, their voice barely audible.
"Hi, I'm really glad you came. I wasn't sure if you would show up after what happened last time," Selena said, her voice filled with sincerity.
"I thought it was something serious. I'm curious to hear what you have to say," They replied.
"I've been thinking about us," She confessed, waiting anxiously for their reaction.
"What about us?" The person inquired.
"I want us to be together again," She stated, her voice carrying a sense of determination.
"I thought you were getting back with Bieber," The person mentioned.
"I'm not seeing him," She insisted.
"Wait a sec, so you're single now?" They asked, a mischievous smirk forming on their face.
"Not exactly. I'm kind of seeing my ex-wife again..." Selena confessed, her words causing the person's eyes to widen and color to drain from their face.
Realizing she had made a mistake by bringing it up, she took a deep breath, knowing it was too late to take it back. Nervously rubbing the back of her neck and smiled.
"It's really complicated. I love her, but I don't want to leave again. I don't know what to do." She said.
"You don't want to lose her," The person stated, understanding the dilemma that their ex currently involved
"I don't, but I also know that marriage might not be the best option," Selena admitted, her voice tinged with uncertainty.
"I think you should be talking to her about this, not me," They suggested.
"I guess you're right. I should go now," Selena said, standing up and preparing to leave.
"Best of luck with that," The person said.
"Thank you. I'll be sure to let you know how it goes," She replied, waving as she walked away from the coffee shop.
A smile played on her lips as she left the coffeeshop, shaking her head in amusement. She hopped into her car grateful for no paparazzi around and headed towards her house, eager to unwind.
She walked into the house shutting the door as she made her way straight to her bedroom. Closing her eyes, drifted off to sleep, ready to face the next day.
The following day, she found herself at the gym, not in the mood to have her picture taken. Holding her towel in front of her face, she discreetly followed her bodyguard and slipped into the waiting car.
Arriving back at her house, quickly stepped inside and made her way to her bedroom to change into an comfortable outfit and headed to the living room. Closing the door behind her, she was unaware of the approaching footsteps.
"Hey there, Sel," Ashley greeted.
"Damn, you scared me!" She exclaimed.
"I'm sorry," Ashley apologized.
"It's alright," She reassured.
"Are the guys coming over soon?" Ashley inquired.
"They'll be here tomorrow," She answered.
Nodding in understanding, Ashley smiled at her before turning on the TV. She returned the smile, settling in for a relaxing evening.
As she surfed through the channels, her eyes rolled in annoyance when she stumbled upon a report about herself and Justin spending time together. Quickly changing the channel, she got up from the couch and made her way to the kitchen to grab a snack.
With her snack in hand, she settled back down and resumed watching TV. Deciding to call it an early night, she knew she had to get some rest before her upcoming performance rehearsal.
The next day was filled with fun activities with friends, including an Instagram live session where she sang "It Ain't Me" and "Wolves." Later, she did a radio interview over the phone and then hopped into her car to head to the venue.
Navigating her way through the bustling streets, she finally arrived at the building where she would be rehearsing. Feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness, she covered her face from the cameras as she walked inside.
As she went over the songs she would be performing, she saw a film crew present, capturing moments for a documentary about her. She also took the time to do a live stream for her fans, showing her appreciation for their support.
Determined to perfect her performance, she continued to rehearse tirelessly. Her eyes sparkled with enthusiasm as she did a run-through of the songs.
Running her hand through her hair, she confidently walked towards the end of the stage, engaging with the people who were present. After a successful practice session, she left the venue through the back doors, taking a moment to exhale before getting into her car and driving home.
The following day, she headed to the gym to work on her fitness. As she entered the building, she playfully flipped off the cameras, not in the mood for any paparazzi attention.
After her workout, she left the gym and spotted a familiar car waiting for her. With a smile on her face, she opened the car door and slipped inside, ready to relax and unwind.
As she settled into the car with her headphones on, she glanced out the window and shook her head. She couldn't wait to talk to her fiancée Eugenia.
Ashley started driving towards their house, and they arrived quickly with little traffic on the road. After changing, headed to sit down bed and didn't know she was in her room.
Eugenia stood nervously to the side of her fiance's room, her cell phone clutched tightly in her hand and shoved it in her pocket. She absentmindedly rubbed her neck, a telltale sign of her unease when it came to sharing difficult truths with others.
Meanwhile, Selena sat comfortably on the bed, a warm smile playing on her lips. Suddenly, she caught sight of a familiar face out of the corner of her eye and her grin widened. With a surge of excitement, she stood up and made her way towards Eugenia.
As Selena approached, she couldn't resist stealing a quick peck on Eugenia's lips. Tilting her head to the side, she gazed at her with affection.
"Hey there, baby," Selena greeted, her voice filled with love.
"Hi there." Eugenia responded meekly.
"I love you," Selena declared, her words filled with sincerity.
"I love you too. I'm so sorry for everything I've put you through in our relationship," Eugenia apologized, her voice tinged with regret.
"It's okay, babe," Selena reassured her, her voice filled with understanding.
"No, it's really not. I need to tell you something, something really bad," Eugenia confessed, her voice trembling.
"What is it?" Selena asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Please, tell me," She added, her eyes pleading.
Eugenia's lips quivered softly as she glanced over at the wall, gathering her thoughts. Sensing her distress, Selena gently pulled her face back to meet her gaze, her mouth poised to speak.
"You're kinda scaring me, baby," Selena admitted, a hint of worry creeping into her voice.
Eugenia let out a breath she didn't realize she had been holding. With her face just inches away from Selena's, finally spoke the words that had been weighing heavily on her heart.
"I have a secret I've been keeping..."
