THIRTY ONE. first love.
Selena locked eyes with the head of the company, her gaze unwavering. He gestured for her to take a seat, but she defiantly declined.
"Is this some kind of joke?" He questioned, clearly taken aback.
"No, it's not," She assured him, her voice steady.
"I'm not sure if this is what's best for business," He stated firmly.
"I don't care about business. My personal life is being used without my permission," She declared, her tone filled with determination.
"I'll take some time to think about what you've said today. We can discuss other options at a later time," He conceded.
"I'm telling you what I want," She pressed, her hands firmly planted on her hips as she glared at her boss.
He pursed his lips together. He let out a sigh.
"Fine, I'll call off the arrangement," He said, reaching for the phone.
"Thank you," She replied gratefully, swiftly leaving the boardroom and the building.
He dialed another member of the company, conflicted about the situation. He didn't agree with Selena, but he also didn't want to lose her as an artist.
He had to figure out what to do next. John tugged at his hair, balancing the phone on his shoulder.
"Hello, Tim," He greeted.
"Hi, is everything okay?" Tim asked, concerned.
"We have to call off the deal for Selena and Abel," He revealed.
"What's wrong?" Tim asked.
"It's not doing anything for her career right now. None of her singles are on the charts. This isn't benefiting us," He explained.
"We'll come up with something. She's going to benefit, I know it," Tim reassured.
"Tell her that. She just threatened me in my own office," He lied, frustration evident in his voice.
"She can't do that!" Tim exclaimed.
"Well, she just did. I'll think about what to do next," John said, contemplating his options.
"Keep me updated," Tim requested.
"Will do," John replied, ending the call.
He put the phone away and leaned back in his seat, biting his lip. John rubbed his temples, trying to decide what to do next and knew he needed to have a meeting with Scooter Braun to discuss the situation.
As Selena stepped into her chic Los Angeles apartment, a grin spread across her face. She shut the door behind her and let out a contented sigh and quickly dialed up some of her closest pals, eager to hit up a church event that evening.
But as fate would have it, her ex Justin was also in attendance with his entourage. Selena made a valiant effort to steer clear of him, and her strategy paid off.
The next morning, Selena found herself enjoying breakfast with a familiar face. As she gazed across the table, a smile lit up her features.
Her smile faded, disappointment washing over her as she realized that the person standing before her wasn't the one she had hoped to see. Despite her disappointment, she forced herself to feign interest in his words, playing with her fingers absentmindedly.
As confusion clouded his face, his eyes shifted to hers. He bit his lip concerned.
"What's the matter?" Justin asked.
"It's nothing." She replied, with a dismissive wave.
"I want you to know that I'm going to be here for you, Lena." He said.
"Please don't call me that anymore." She pleaded.
"Just talk to me." He urged.
'I should go." She said.
""Sel, we have a deal together," He said, his voice barely audible as she passed by him.
"What did you say?" She asked, her voice filled with a mix of confusion and frustration and sat back down.
"Scooter and John are in a meeting right now. They want us to date to boost sales for both of us," He explained.
"I'm not doing that!" She yelled.
"It's already done," He replied, his tone resigned.
"This is so fucking ridiculous. I can't believe this is happening all over again," She exclaimed, standing up for the second time.
He didn't try to stop her, instead watching her leave with a heavy sigh. She made her way to her car, her mind racing as she drove back to her house.
As she stepped into the house, she closed the door behind her with a satisfying click. A sense of anticipation filled the air, but Selena hadn't made any effort to reach out and talk to her.
It seemed as though she had completely forgotten about their plans to discuss what had happened. Feeling a slight nervousness, she licked her lips slowly, her hand instinctively moving to the back of her neck, gently rubbing it.
With a determined stride, she made her way out of the house, eager to wait for him to arrive in his car. As she slipped inside, he started the engine and they drove off towards his house.
Arriving at their destination, she gracefully stepped out of the car and walked into the house. Making her way to the living room, she couldn't help but glance down at her cell phone, her curiosity getting the better of her.
Meanwhile, he was strolling outside on the patio, accompanied by his loyal companion, Charlie, the family dog. Selena couldn't help but be captivated by his presence as she sat down on the couch, her head resting against the soft cushions.
A gentle smile spread across her features, as she watched him with a mix of admiration and affection.
After a moment, she stood up and made her way to the bathroom. As she entered, her eyes met her reflection in the mirror, and with a sense of determination, she left the bathroom, ready to face whatever lay ahead.
Later, he took her back to her house, and she slipped inside, feeling a sense of comfort and security. Exhausted from the day's events, she made her way to bed, ready to rest and recharge.
The following day, true to their agreement, he picked her up, and they embarked on a new adventure together. Their destination? A church service.
Selena was completely absorbed in her phone, her eyes locked onto the screen. As she climbed into the car, her face twisted into an angry expression.
But as she leaned back in her seat, her companion hummed a tune and took the wheel, and she began to relax. Suddenly, Selena's eyes grew wide as she searched for her name online.
She read the article in disbelief, her face draining of color as she stared at the screen. He looked at her.
"What's wrong?" He asked curiously, but she dismissed Justin with a wave of her hand.
As they drove, Selena closed her eyes and tried to calm herself down. When they arrived at her house, she bolted out of the car and went inside.
Sitting down on the couch, she looked down at her hand and smiled faintly. Picking up her phone, she dialed a number and waited for her friend to answer.
"Hi there T," She said.
"I'm coming to your place with the team in a little bit." Her friend sounded surprised, but Selena simply said goodbye and hung up.
Later, Selena was riding her new bike on the sidewalk, passing by people on their way to school. She stopped at a basketball court and chatted with some fans, taking pictures with them on the court.
Then she got back on her bike and rode down the street, a huge smile on her face.
With a radiant smile, she gazed down at the ground, lost in the euphoria of her new song, "Wolves." The rhythm guided her steps as she made her way towards her vibrant neighborhood.
After parking her bike in the cozy garage, she gracefully entered her house, closing the door behind her. Carefully, she stowed away her headphones and phone in her purse, ready to immerse herself in the world around her.
Settling onto the plush couch, she indulged in some mindless television. However, her eyes narrowed in disbelief as a news report flashed across the screen, revealing details of her recent breakup with Abel.
"Are you kidding me?" She whispered, her voice filled with a mix of frustration and disbelief.
Determined to shake off the negativity, she rose to her feet, making her way towards the refreshing embrace of a shower. With each step, she felt the weight of the day slowly dissipate, until she finally reached her bedroom and slipped into the comforting embrace of her bed, closing her eyes and drifting into a peaceful slumber.
The next morning, she awoke at the leisurely hour of ten. Eager to start her day on a positive note, she ventured out for a delightful breakfast, savoring each bite and relishing in the simple pleasures of life.
Emerging from the restaurant, she held her cup delicately in her hand, the warmth seeping into her fingers. With purposeful strides, she made her way towards her car, ready to embark on the adventures that awaited her.
Returning to the sanctuary of her home, she savored the rich aroma of her freshly brewed coffee. As she changed into a cozy sweater, memories of her ex flooded her mind, but refused to let them dampen her spirits. Instead, she embraced the garment, finding solace in its familiar embrace.
Stepping out into her front yard, she mounted her bike, a symbol of freedom and liberation. With the wind tousling her hair and the sun kissing her skin, she embarked on another exhilarating ride, leaving behind any remnants of the past and embracing the boundless possibilities of the present.
She hopped onto her bike, cruising around with her best friend Ashley by her side. The wind tousled her hair as she gripped the handle with a wide grin on her face, feeling the thrill of the ride.
After their adventure, she made her way back home, eager to refuel her energy. With a spring in her step, she headed straight for the kitchen, ready to indulge in a delicious meal.
Satisfied and content, she then made her way to the cozy comfort of her bedroom, ready to unwind and relax. The following day, she embarked on a solo bike ride, relishing in the freedom of the open road.
As she pedaled along, a mischievous smile danced across her lips, her earbuds filling her ears with an infectious beat. Lost in the rhythm, she couldn't help but feel a surge of joy coursing through her veins.
With a beaming smile that stretched from ear to ear, she hopped on her bike and pedaled away, the wind tousling her hair. It wasn't long before she found herself cruising down the street alongside Justin, her former flame, who led the way in his vibrant red hoodie.
A burst of laughter escaped her lips, echoing through the air, as she watched Justin with his hand outstretched in front of him. Lost in the rhythm of his music, he seemed completely unaware of the world around him.
As she watched him, Selena couldn't help but smile and giggle to herself. He turned onto the next street and she followed, feeling a rush of excitement.
They locked up their bikes and she grabbed her purse, laptop in tow, ready for a morning adventure with him. As they walked side by side, Selena leaned her head on his shoulder and linked their arms.
A contented sigh escaped her lips, feeling grateful for this moment with him. She smiled softly.
With a radiant smile, she lifted her head to meet his gaze, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. As she walked, she couldn't help but bite her lip, a nervous habit that only added to her charm.
Suddenly, a realization struck her - she hadn't even had a chance to talk to her fiancé yet. As he opened his mouth to speak, she turned her attention towards him, her curiosity piqued.
"Selena," He began, his voice filled with genuine concern.
"Yeah?" She responded, her voice tinged with a hint of excitement.
"How are you doing with everything going on?" He asked, his eyes searching for any signs of distress.
"I am feeling the best I have ever felt in a long time." She confidently replied.
"That's good to hear," He said, his voice filled with genuine happiness for her.
"I really have to do something right now." Selena interrupted, a sense of urgency in her voice, swiftly made her way to retrieve her bike, ready to embark on her next adventure.
Pedaling with determination, she rode her bike towards her house, the wind tousling her hair as she raced against time. As she closed the door behind her, a sense of tranquility washed over her.
She took a moment to catch her breath before sinking into the cozy embrace of her couch, feeling a sense of contentment settle within her and went to bed. She stepped into the gym, ready to conquer her routine.
With determination in her eyes, she embarked on an intense workout that pushed her limits. Sweat dripped down her forehead as she gave it her all, feeling the burn in her muscles.
Finally, as she completed her last set, she triumphantly left the building, her body buzzing with energy. With a satisfied smile, she hopped into the passenger's side of her car, ready to take on the world.
With a determined stride, she entered the house, her mind buzzing with anticipation. As she made her way to the living room, she couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement.
It was time to make a move, to take a leap of faith. Pulling her cell phone out of her pocket, she dialed a number, her fingers trembling slightly.
Placing the phone to her ear, she took a deep breath and exhaled sharply, the weight of her decision settling on her shoulders. Taking a seat on the plush couch, she crossed one leg over the other, her heart pounding in her chest after driving in her car and walked to her fiancé's place.
She knew this was a pivotal moment, a turning point in their relationship. All she could do now was wait for an answer, her mind racing with a mix of hope and uncertainty as she went to her house.
"Hello?" Eugenia's voice sounded both surprised and curious.
"I'm ready," She declared, her voice filled with determination.
"For what?" Eugenia's confusion was evident in her tone.
"For us to be together," She replied, her words laced with a hint of vulnerability.
"We are together, babe," Eugenia stated, her voice filled with reassurance.
"I do know that, but I think you know what I mean," She said, her voice tinged with longing.
"What are you talking about, Sel?" Eugenia asked.
"I'm going to tell you right now," She answered, her voice filled with a mix of nervousness and determination.
As Selena stepped inside the house, she closed the door behind her with a gentle click, ensuring her entrance went unnoticed. She couldn't help but smile as she surveyed the cozy living room, her eyes landing on Eugenia, who stood there with her head tilted to the side, engrossed in her cell phone.
Eugenia's heart skipped a beat as she caught sight of of someone, her smile growing wider. Selena approached her silently from behind, feeling the warmth of someone's breath on her neck. Unable to resist, she turned around to find Selena standing there, a mischievous grin on her face.
Returning the smile, Eugenia leaned in and placed a tender kiss on Selena's cheek. With a chuckle, she ended her call and slipped her phone into her pocket, a gesture mirrored by Selena.
Their eyes locked, brimming with affection and anticipation. Selena couldn't contain her excitement any longer and opened her mouth to speak.
"Keep going, babe," She encouraged, her voice filled with anticipation.
Selena leaned in closer, her voice barely above a whisper, as she prepared to reveal her exciting news. She looked at her.
"I'm going to see him play hockey tonight," She announced, a twinkle of excitement in her eyes.
